Anyone care to speculate on this new Facebook post? What do you think is coming? When do you think it will arrive? I know many people were disappointed when the new type of seasonal dragons were released. Do you think this will be another disappointment? Do you have any other thoughts about it?

New breeding rule question: My approach to playing this game has always been that I would have one of each regular dragon and two of each limited and two of each Epic. With the new rules is there any advantage to keeping two of each regular (non-limited) Epic?
It seems to me that if you don't want to keep two of them, then you would never want to breed them together to make 3 of them.

Actually, I would breed the third for the display egg. Having a pair around was also convenient when you added another Epic habitat and it had an open spot. Now I'm thinking I should just use the second as the display and then just use the "regular" dragons down the line if I need a another (assuming the odds are the same).

You guys seem to be speaking as if the new breeding rules will be permanent even after the event ends...is that confirmed? : (

It has been confirmed. BFS says it is to "advance the game" which I think is developer speak for "hopefully get some players to buy more gems".

I like to read it as "we've changed a rule that made the game ridonkulously easy".

Am working on testing if limited+limited has any better odds than breeding from scratch, which may have an impact on whether I continue to keep 2 of each dragon. If 2 doesn't give any benefit, then why keep breeding for 2 + an egg. With only 1 + an egg, that opens up a whole lot of space for any new dragons, making the need to sell the precious earned gift habitats moot. We'll see.

Hi, Pixie. I'm raising each side up in turn - I'd love to get giant habitats of each, but I suspect that's not realistic at the rate things are going.

I know people don't have much time for serious testing now, but I'm looking forward to seeing some numbers on how the new rules affect breeding outcomes. I'm still in the thick of feeding my dragons up (getting everyone from 16 to 17 at this point), so cash is a big concern - if there's a way to make more money without completely tearing my park apart, I'm all ears...

Normally like to have 1,000 breedings before releasing info, but there really isn't any point in doing that for active limited dragons. Here is what I've seen so far.

Meteor + Pollen
400 breeds
17 Zombies

Zombie + Zombie
60 breeds
34 Zombies

Pretty clear if a person wants an active limited egg, Limited+Limited is the way to go. Now whether this holds for out-of-season Limiteds, it will take additional testing.

Back to farming......

400 breeds Pollen+Meteor = 14 Zombie !
That's reassuring, I think. Although I haven't been keeping count, it feels like I'm nearly at 100 fruitless tries, but it's probably closer to 50. At least the fails are a million DC or more.

Patience and persistence!

14 out of 400, so if those odds hold up we are probably looking at a 5% chance for a Zombie. That seems like tougher odds that usual for a limited. I got one on my 4th or 5th try but the second has been elusive. I'm using Pollen/Meteor on the island and Zombie/Apocolypse in the cave.
