Rades

Rades reads the card.
“I'm supposed to fight a demigod?”
“Yes sir,” The courier confirms.
Rades sighs. “Very well.” The courier leaves the room.
Rades looks out of his new apartment window. The EGL has him living in a high rise apartment overlooking Pedstat, an urban metropolis on a planet so small that the metropolis is literally the entire planet. Pedstat is a major trading station for other local planets. Rades can not help but be amazed and horrified every time he sees a ship shoot up into orbit. This world is nothing like home.
Rades looks down and starts to read the info packet on Lilisette. She is clearly on a whole different magic level, and is also considered a skilled fighter. Regenerative properties... that will be problematic. Rades thinks about his options. I need to use a heavier weapon. A battle axe or a war hammer, perhaps. I can't let this fight drag on. She'll wear me out long before she tires. But that might not even be relevant. Her magic is powerful. Too powerful for what I can handle. I need to take her out before she sees me.Beta Metris seems like it will have many hiding spots. My best bet is to take her out from the shadows. If I can lead her to an area with a dense population, I might be able to blend in and take her out point blank with a long knife through the throat. Alternatively, if there is no one around I can lead her into a decaying building and collapse it on top of her. Her shield might make that problematic... I wonder how much punishment that shield can take. Definitely taking a war hammer. I might need to break through walls and doors for escape routes. I should also crush some glass. She does not seem to have any other reliable ways of spotting me aside from eye sight. If I can blind her with crushed glass, then I just have to back up and let her wear herself out. Then go in for the kill.
Rades thought back to a fight he had against his stepfather, a lich. He won the fight with a large rock dropped from fifty feet. That might be one of my best bets. I just need to drop a stone, or a piece of concrete, or metal, or even my war hammer. The buildings seem like they have enough height to make this relatively easy. Almost silent and extremely deadly. Also means if I fail I can easily slip back into the shadows. Looks like we are starting in the underground. I might need to lead her to the surface for this one.
But any way I win this fight, it will be from stealth. I can not let her have a chance to use the Eye of Lothcar. I also can not touch her. Pyromancy will be fairly useless for damage. Might work as a method for blinding her though. Maybe I can find some oil... there should be some pipelines underground. I might even drown her in oil. So long as she does not have time to attack me personally I can keep trying strategies until I find one that works. I will probably have to take her out with a single hit. If I don't, Eye of Lothcar can end this very quickly. I wonder what that staff is made of... I might be able to break it with a good strike. If I can discombobulate her with a loud sound or sudden shock, I might be able to move in for the kill there, too. If I notice her relying on her hands to use magic, I can try to cut them off. I need to stay out of open areas. She has a lot of range on her abilities. Looks like she can fly, too.
If she get me with the shackles, that's it. Hopefully I can take her out before she hits summons her dragons or opens up the portal to the underworld. I might be to torch the ghosts with fire. The dragons will probably have to be avoided rather than killed. A large rock isn't likely to kill a dragon. A smack to the head with a war hammer might. Or maybe back to the crushed glass. Blind it and ignore. The healing dragon is another reason I need to take Lilisette out with a single blow to the head.
Alright, so I'm taking a knife, my broadsword, and a war hammer for weapons. A pouch to put crushed glass in will also be worth it. I want to take her out before she notices the dangers she is in. If that fails, I hide, wait for an opening, and strike.

Rades thinks back to his first day of training at Pellan. The instructor had lined them all up and gave a speech.
“We are the Pyromancers. We are the predecessors of the Paladins. But the Paladins were weak. They stood in the open for all to see and declared themselves judge, jury, and executioner. We do not declare such things. We hide in the shadow. We are certainly judge, jury, and executioner, but we do not announce. We do, and then we leave. A good Pyromancer will be long gone before anyone notices a Pyromancer was ever in the area. Blend in. Use the darkness. Be efficient. These lessons will get you farther than ten years of swordplay. Fighting is a tool to get to an end. It is a messy and dangerous tool. Stealth is another tool to an end. It is clean and cautious. Use fighting when required, but always as a secondary option. We will teach you proficiency in both tools, and you will have to make the judgements from there.”
Rades closed Lilisette's info packet. He left the apartment to order a war hammer.
