Oryan was dressed in his guild attire, proudly sporting the duster and hat that his guild present to all its full fledged members. His triangular shaped red hat with a single feather resting on the top fit snugly on his head, masking his eyes from the sun's light. His grey doublet was only partially visible from the front as the red duster with brown cuffs and silver buttons his it from view save for the chest and abdominal area. He kept the duster unbuttoned as it wasn't a particularly cold day. His white breeches lead down into knee high boots common to those that traveled in unfavorable terrain with extra soft soles in them for added comfort. He was picking up some minor provisions for his first venture to the Vertex station. Some dried meat, a couple of pickles know throughout Lindblum as a delicacy of sorts, and some dried fruits and nuts for variety were all on his list.

He had gathered most of the items and he was just about to wrap up his shopping when he heard someone cry out about a theif. Low and behold it was not one of the shop keepers calling for the guards, but another citizen. When Oryan got a glance at the person in question it happened to be another Red Mage. How quaint that he would need assistance. And even beyond that it was one of noble blood, the son of an aristocrat. A smirk curled onto Oryan's lips. Never one to pass up a chance to get ahead with those that helped shape the governing bodies of the land, he quickly snapped the flap shut on his bag and slung it around his shoulder to dangle behind him. He then rushed over to the other man's side, "Where did he go?"

Oryan hadn't been the type for formalities. He knew this man, and he was certain that this fellow knew who he was as well. They'd shared a few classes in the academy. "There!" His fellow mage pointed down one of the alleyways behind a fresh fruit vendor. Oryan nodded to the man and both bolted down the alleyway after their target.

They entered the narrow alley just in time to see their target round the corner on the other end. He was gaining ground on them fast. No doubt he was the lithe, nimble type, Oryan gave a slight groan at how annoying the situation was. He kept running as quickly as he could. If only he'd managed to learn the haste spell by now. He'd easily be able to best the thief in a foot race and catch him with no problem. But the cold reality was that the thief was out of view and likely to be already rounding a second corner to lose them completely.
