The EVO announce team is introduced to cheers, boos and cheers, and soon after, the night’s action begins.

The opening pyro explodes into the arena as ‘This Is the Time (Ballast)’ by Nothing More starts to play in the arena. The opening video for Ascent; featuring a fast-paced montage of EVO Wrestling’s top talents plays as shots of the live event’s crowd are spliced in. The announce table is shown with April Showers and Martin Zhou are panned past as the camera focuses on the ring. The bell rings three times and EVO Wrestling’s ASCENT begins.

Candice Shields vs. Nikki Yoshida

The two fought a back and forth match that vied for match for the night. Candice Shields and Nikki Yoshida started out exchanging rights until Candice Shields got the upper hand, backing him into the corner. The ref got in between them and Nikki Yoshida used the ref to hit a kick to the gut. Nikki Yoshida hookedin an Octopus Stretch. Candice Shields broke the hold by getting to the ropes.. Candice Shields hit a back body drop and a clothesline to the outside of the ring. Nikki Yoshida turned around and hit Candice Shields with a ddt. Nikki Yoshida set up for a suplex, but Candice Shields slipped out & countered with Tough Love (MUSCLE Buster) for the win at 7:45.

Echidna vs Vu Song

They go to lock up and Vu Song tries for an early pin attempt. Echidna fires back with a huge forearm. Echidna with more offense and an abdominal stretch. Vu Song turns it around and applies a hold of her own. Echidna slams Vu Song and kicks her in the face. Vu Song comes back and hits a German suplex. Vu Song goes for the Sharpshooter but Echidna makes it to the apron to break the hold. Echidna goes for a big boot, but misses. Vu Song goes for a roll up and then a Sharpshooter again. Echidna nails Echidna’s Elegy (Sit Out Powerbomb) for the win at 4:16.

The Other vs The Gato

They go back and forth & trade holds and The Other gets the upperhand. The Other sends The Gato to the floor and leaps out onto The Gato. The Other comes back in the ring as The Gato regroups on the floor. The Gato suckers The Other in and takes control. The Gato turns it around with a dropkick to The Other’s knee. The Other makes a comeback and hits a Springboard clothesline for a 2 count. The Other gets sent to the floor. The Other sends The Gato into the timekeeper’s area, The Gato with a series of chops before he sends The Other back in the ring. The Gato tosses The Other into the ring, but gets caught with a superkick as he comes into the ring. As The Gato recovers and gets to his feet, The Other jumps to the top rope and hits the Otherworldly DDT (Springboard Moonsault DDT) for the three at 6:21.

Asher King vs Lazarus Veil

The crowd opened up with a "Let's go Asher" chant and the two competitors opened up with Asher offering a handshake which Lazarus rebuffed. The two opened up trading armdrag takedowns. A short time later, Lazarus impressively landed a backdrop attempt on his feet and took Asher down with a running headscissors.

Asher came right back with shoulder tackle knocking Lazarus to the ground, only for Lazarus to quickly get up to his feet and stare down Asher. The two faced off briefly and Asher just gave a smile before catching him upside the head with a forearm, then whipping him into the ropes. On the rebound Asher was caught with a flying clothesline taking the young athlete to the mat.

Back from break, Lazarus rocked Asher with a running uppercut in the corner for a quick two-count. Asher came right back with his double-jump crossbody for a quick two of his own. Asher hit the ropes, but Lazarus reversed with an impressive vertical jump 'rana for another two-count. Asher and Lazarus traded reversals, ending with Asher connecting on the Ash Flow for a good two-count.

Asher got a rear-waistlock and hit rolling Germans, but Lazarus flipped over and landed on his feet when Asher went for the half-and-half suplex. Lazarus caught Asher with a boot then attempted a GTS but Asher got loose. Asher briefly looked to hook in the Koji Clutch but came right back with the half-and-half suplex. Lazarus managed to land on his feet again though, as Asher just gave him a grin, impressed to say the least.

The two locked up again – both tired from the contest as Lazarus was clearly overpowered. Asher whipped him into the ropes and Asher himself went for the Ash Compactor! Lazarus dodged and then caught Asher and tried for the GTS again.. Asher managed to slide out of it though and land behind Lazarus onto his feet. He quickly bounced off the ropes as Lazarus turned around and walked right into the Ash Compactor; connecting and securing the pinfall win at the 10:35 mark.

The Shiruken vs Casar Fuentes

They go to the mat pretty quickly and Casar Fuentes goes to the ropes when Shiruken goes for a surfboard. Casar Fuentes gets vicious and starts choking Shiruken before unloading with chops. Casar Fuentes brutalizes The Shiruken, but The Shiruken dumps Sanada to the floor and take him out with the heat seeking missile. The Shiruken goes for the brainbuster, but Casar Fuentes bites The Shiruken’ fingers and sends The Shiruken crashing into the turnbuckle. The Shiruken knocks Casar Fuentes off the top rope and goes for the Shooting Star Press, but Casar Fuentes moves out of the way, Casar Fuentes goes for a punch but The Shiruken, but DeRanna blocks it. The Shiruken counters and nails him with a knockout kick, followed by the Shooting Star press for the win at 7:02.

Ascent Championship: Akira Ng vs Blu

We go to the ring and out comes the debuting Akira Ng to take on Blu. Next Blu comes to the ring as the two get ready for action. Blu tries to mount some offense, but is met by a big knee from Akira Ng. Blu looks to make another comeback with some stiff punches and a stomp off the corner. Blu attempts a comeback, but Akira Ng stops it with a boot to the gut, and then Akira Ng hits Redemption (Spinning Sit-out Powerbomb) for the win at 2:55.

Winner and Still Ascent Champion: Akira Ng


The EVO signage runs across the screen and the show fades to black.
