Rin hadn't been sure why Beowulf had brought the laptop to her before, but apparently, she realized, that was what he may've meant by "trusting those under your command" ? Not exactly an accurate way to describe it, but it still did involve some level of trusting those who write the various articles. He questioned the capabilities of the laptop, asking whether it could collect data from the entire city. It could, depending on what people put into the web, she supposed. The News articles could help with things that happened before, however the church did help cover up any stories regarding any servants battles. There was a possibility they couldn't tell which were simply crimes or servant battles. ... Though Rin didn't exactly like technology too much. She had some idea of how these things worked, but didn't have a lot of experience. She understood the basic principles, after encountering a few occasions where she had no better sources of information, but she tried to avoid it at all costs.

"It can, to an extent... It's possible to read articles that other people have written and posted, such as the news articles. I'm not exactly technologically adept, though. I guess I can try, though."

She sighed ... basically they could try to use this to learn some recent events or wander aimless. Both were pretty troublesome. Oh well, she reached over and powered the laptop on. At first, she hadn't even been able to do this. Her upbringing as a magi as a young child had strayed away from ever learning to use anything like this, and during her time with Kotomine Kirei, it hadn't been too much different. It wasn't until she was on her own as an executor, on a few missions that she eventually had to resort to questioning others, and ... in a lot of cases was told to simply check articles online. After a lot of trouble, she learned the basic ideas, and could at the very least get a web browser up, and search for something.

Rin clicked on the internet explorer icon, and the browser appeared after just a few moments. Then after moving the mouse to the search bar, she typed in "Alsace-Lorraine news" and began to search through various links. She already seemed annoyed and ready to give up, but ... it was what her servant suggested. Honestly, she would probably have preferred aimless wandering, until she saw something amiss, but it was a waste of time.

She did see one article about some sort of possible explosion in the Shopping distract, with many casualties. She decided to show Beowulf the article, and turned the laptop around.

"This is the most suspicious article I could find, to be honest. It's possible there were others, but the church has probably covered them up. I could always try to get information from them regarding the war, but ... I'm not sure. Technically it's not allowed to get help from the neutral grounds, but I do work with the church."

Beowulf finished putting the food on two plates before taking them over to the table and setting one in front of Rin, book still in hand. He quickly read the article before going back to get silver-wear. His own faced stared back him distorted in the metal as he peered at the utensils. Why people developed such useless tools was beyond him. A good knife would work just as well and not be a waste of good metal. Nonetheless, it seemed to be what their culture did. He took two handfuls back to the table, his boots never making a sound as he sat down and passed them out. Finally, after all this he closed the book and spoke.

“Well done, we will know more once we arrive, but if indeed a battle took place it will be obvious. Hopefully, our opponents will have their base nearby.” He cut a piece from the steak and chewed it with vegetables. Good, but it needed salt. He swallowed and looked at the girl with pinched eyebrows.

“This “Church” you keep speaking of, they are your liege lords- er, your employers then? Who are they? Judging from the way you talk they certainly seem to have influence. Are you fighting on their behalf?”

Rin was surprised. Even though Beowulf had gained some knowledge oft he world from the Grail, he didn't know about the Church? She scratched her head, and sighed. This was a troublesome subject to explain, but she would do her best. "The Church is basically the organization I serve. We are devout followers of God. Though most of the followers are not necessarily aware, we exist to keep the world in balance. There are special units within it, such as myself. I am an executor, and help eliminate threats to this world, and blasphemies against God."

Rin decided that explanation was probably good enough. It explained the basics behind her organization, and what the Church did. She looked down, and realized there was a plate before her as well.

"Did you make this for me?" She was somewhat surprised, she hadn't asked for anything. She expected Beowulf to simply make himself something. She smirked, thinking about how interesting the situation was. It would certainly be an experience she wouldn't forget, as long as she lived. The time period she will spend living with the ancient hero, Beowulf. As she thought about it, there was actually a chance she might die in this war, herself. She knew that from the start, though. If she died doing her job, that was fine.

There are special units within it, such as myself. I am an executor, and help eliminate threats to this world, and blasphemies against God."

A snow-white eyebrow rose as Beowulf listened to Rin's explanation. He brought his teeth down forcefully on the food that was still in his mouth to try and get it down faster.

“Ah, I see, more of that gods business hmm? Well, your loyalty is admirable and reflects well on you. I'm glad to have such a capable Master.”

His face relaxed and he glanced briefly out the window. Despite the eagerness in his blood for battle they were still hours away from nightfall.

"Did you make this for me?"

The blue eyes turned back to Rin, who was looking at the plate he had set before her. The dimmed sun muted the colors of the room, causing shadows to almost fade into the surface of the furniture.

“Of course, how do you expect togo into battle without a healthy body? Or had you already eaten?”

He had not taken that fact into account. Although if she had it would be no major loss, he could easily finish both plates. The food did not sustain his life any longer, but well practiced habits did not simply vanish because you were revived by a powerful cup. Not to mention he could still taste. It was strange though, the entire time he had been here he did not feel the presence of anyone else leaving or entering. He quickly spoke again despite the question.

“Ah, I have also been meaning to ask, I assume your husband will be aiding us. Where is he? Is he a member of the Church as well? A fellow Executor like yourself?”

The Grail gave him a vague knowledge that women married older than they used to, but this girl was in her prime, not to mention beautiful and wealthy. Even over the course of time Beowulf was sure the young men of this era were not so spineless as to not even attempt to court her.

(Sorry if the day time is off, I just kind of put something down, let me know if I should change it.)

"Thank you, Beowulf." Rin smiled and began to eat the food she was served. It was still an amusing thought. Being served a plate of food from an ancient hero, but ... it was food from her fridge. Perhaps it's not that strange in the end to eat it. She was happy her servant seemed to have confidence in her as a master. Although she is a natural and gifted magus, she did abandon that advantage. She figured she was still more capable than a common magus, since she still learned plenty about it, since it's part of her job to encounter magi from time to time. However a stronger magus than her would be able to supply Beowulf with more power than she could. She of course was quite confident in Beowulf's power.

As she was enjoying her food, thinking about the situation, her servant asked a strange and slightly embarrassing question. She wasn't married yet. In fact, she hadn't ever really had anyone that close to her. "Ah .. well, you see... I'm not married. In fact I've never even been in such a relationship." As if the Legendary Chef, Beowulf wasn't bad enough. Now she was having a conversation like this. "I've been more of a loner, due to my line of work.

Beowulf stored his confusion and negative impression of this era's males away for another time. As it was the book he had read of just a few of the possible Heroic Souls he could encounter had made his blood vibrate in his veins. While it was still not much closer to night that did not mean they could not go outside. It would be better to survey the possible battlefields beforehand as well. Actual combat could wait for when they found their foes. In short, he was beginning to look for an excuse to start moving. He had not felt like this since his younger days before fighting Grendel! He finished the last of his food in a rush.

"Hmm, an understandable situation." His attention had been drawn to the window once more.

"When your done eating we should go to that courtyard you found. Our enemies will come to us, it would be foolish to meet them on unfamiliar ground. Perhaps we can also learn more about them and their whereabouts."

(Short post, my apologies.)

Rin had been eating fairly slowly, since she had been enjoying her time chatting with an ancient hero, and with messing that troublesome technology. She ate a bit more from her plate. He had honestly made more than she would possibly eat, but it's not like it mattered too much. She wasn't exactly worried about the wasted food. Rin listened to Beowulf express interest in leaving for the area where a coverup seemed to have taken place. She agreed, although it's possible they wouldn't learn too much. However, you never know unless you try. It was probably better than randomly wandering, too.

Rin stood up from the table, stretching a bit, before pushing the chair in. She gave Beowulf a glance, and smiled. "Alright, Beowulf. Let's see what we can find." She was already completely prepared for heading out, so there wouldn't be any problems. And she highly doubted her ancient hero needed anything else besides what he came with. Rin headed out from the dining area, and gestured for Beowulf to follow, before halting for a moment, near the door. She was about to question whether Beowulf would've preferred to be disguised instead of using his spiritual mode to remain unseen, but decided if he had a preference he might just bring it up himself. "Hopefully this will be a good lead. I'd hate for us to waste our time so quickly into this war." Rin opened the door, apparently waiting for her servant to head out instead of her, even though he should be able to pass through walls in his spiritual state. She still wanted to treat him as she would anyone else, however.

After Beowulf would leave the house, she would lock the door behind them, and set off towards their first destination.
