So, me and Native were talking, one thing led to another, and then Fong Lacroix and Nico Vitale became the first yaoi couple of the site (you know how it is). Anyway, this is essentially the result of boredom and the realization that I have read way too much crappy romance. Enjoy. Oh, and also, Native totally approves of this, I'd check with Rodyn, but he's not online, and a 50% approval rating will have to do. Actually I guess it's more like 66% approval rating, considering the people involved. Now I am rambling. The rain was pouring heavy outside the window. Nico wasn't sure what he was looking at, the church grounds certainly wasn't the most interesting sight in the world, nevertheless, he could not tear his gaze away. “You're going to die, you know.” Fong said in a voice that implied that the statement was obvious, and caring about it wasn't really worth the time. He was standing at the next window over, Nico couldn't really see him, being far too interested by the rain hitting the ground, had he looked over to his left however, he would have noticed Fong doing the exact same thing. Fascinating, the way rain can transfix you like that. Yeah, I know.” Nico answered, doing his best to mimic Fong's tone, but his voice cracked towards the end. Must have been out in the rain too long. Stupid spring weather. It was true though, Nico was fully aware of the peril he was putting himself in, and the high likelihood of his untimely demise. Still, his master was counting on him, he had placed his hopes and dreams in Nico's hands, he couldn't waver, he could not fail. King Arthur would not have hesitated, Alexander Herrmann would not have hesitated, so if Nico turned back now, it would be the same as acknowledging that all the time he dreamt of being a knight was a lie. “It's just... something I have to do. Please understand.” Silence settled once again over the church, as the two young men stared out their respective windows, with an unspoken agreement not to look at each other. Nico didn't know how much time passed, minutes, an hour maybe, but eventually, Fong left his spot, the sound of his footsteps surprisingly loud in the otherwise empty room. They came to a halt right behind Nico, and after a few tense moments, Fong spoke up once again. “Try not to, though. Cleaning up after you will be a mess, and I really don't have time for that sort of nonsense.” His voice was light and humorous, though Nico could have sworn he heard just a small tinge of sadness in there. “Yeah, I'll try. It's a promise.” Fong gave him a quick pat on the shoulder. Nico turned around slowly, facing Fong. His face was grim and serious, completely contradictory to the way he had spoken just earlier. Nico wasn't sure what to do next, so he just remained standing there, looking at Fong, slowly being drawn into his eyes, they were like deep pools of... uh-oh. Looks like Fong noticed he was staring, because he was now wearing a slight smile. Nico blushed furiously and quickly looked away, which caused Fong to laugh out loud. “Look, Nico, there's something I've been meaning to tell you.” Nico looked back up. Fong's face had grown serious again, though he was chewing his lip, as he was wont to do when in doubt. He took a deep breath, and opened his mouth to say something. Suddenly, a loud crash reverberated throughout the church. Truth be told, it hadn't actually been that loud, but both Nico and Fong were utterly focused at the moment, so the perfectly ordinary sound of a door being shut caused them both to jump. “Hello? Sister Fellenore?” An old man walked into view, presumably he had just entered the church. Nico did not know him, but going by the look on Fong's face, that did not go for both of them. “Amadeus? Is that really you?!” Fong shouted, his voice being a careful balance between genuine shock and something Nico identified as glee. For some reason, that glee annoyed him. The old man turned towards where they were standing, apparently not having noticed them before. “Fong? Why, this is surprise.” the old man smiled, and opened his arms wide. Apparently Fong took this as an invitation to run forward and hug the man. This annoyed Nico even more, especially since his quiet murmuring that it's actually 'Father Fong', not just 'Fong', was completely ignored “Holy crap, I can't believe this! Why are you here?” Yeah. Yeah that was definitely glee. Nico turned back to the window, staring out at the church grounds, which were now far less mesmerizing, and more... annoying. “The Placeholder Event ended early, so I figured I'd come here. France has always been quite beautiful after all, though I had not expected to find you here...” his voice trailed off in laughter, and Fong joined in on it. Nico grimaced. “Well, don't be rude, introduce me to your friend.” Fong made a small 'oh' noise that revealed exactly what Nico had been suspecting, Fong had completely forgotten he was even there. “This is Nico, Nico meet Father Amadeus, a close friend of mine.” Nico turned around and gave Amadeus a curt nod, which the old man returned with a smile and a wave of his hand. No conversation started. The two of them simply stared at each other, Nico defiantly, Amadeus still with that small smile, that was getting on Nico's nerves. “Umm... Well...” Fong began, not sure what this meant, his eyes darting back and forth between the old man and Nico. Amadeus was the first to break the standoff. “Oh, how rude of me. I am so sorry, did I interrupt something?” he asked, looking genuinely worried. Fong quickly shook his head. “Oh no, not at all! Nothing important at least!” Nico could have screamed. 'Nothing important'? What about that thing you were just about to tell me?! But instead, he just grit his teeth, and then muttered. “Yeah. I was just about to leave anyway. Sorry for being a nuisance, please continue your happy reunion.” Nico quickly walked forward, pushing his way through Amadeus and Fong. “Hey now, Nico! What's the matter with you! It's like your personality went through a complete overhaul in the last four paragraphs or something!” Fong called after him. “Don't worry! It's nothing important.” Nico called back, and broke out into a run, he had to get out of there. “Oh dear...” Amadeus did sound truly upset, but if either Fong or Nico had glanced back at him for even a second, they would probably have noticed the sly smile betraying his otherwise pleasant facade. The rain outside was cold, and for some reason, had a faint taste of salt. Nico didn't have the time to think about why, he just wanted to get as far away from the church, and consequently Fong, as possible. “You're going to die, huh...” he muttered under his breath. He'd show him. He'd show that stupid Amadeus, too. He'd summon a fantastic Servant and win the War, and make his wish. Then he could wish that F- no wait... his wish was for the return of his masters legs. Right? |

I must mention that because this conversation happened first, it actually affected my post in the "canon" storyline. Nico became a little more flustered and cute overall thanks to this. Oh, and this fan work is not complete without Lamuda's image being abused. Edited by Native, Aug 12 2012, 08:13 PM.
