Assuming spirit form Skuld floated back up though the door and into the house proper, following the signature of her Master to where it had taken its place somewhere in the garden. He appeared to be donning the garb of a field hand... "Master, I am about to begin my first preparations for our campaign. I shall not be finished until the sun has risen. It would befit you to get some sleep, or commit to something to occupy the time." Raising her defenses alone would take almost half an hour, and then their was to establish a workshop. She also wished to create several things, items to aid her Master. It would not do to lose him halfway though the way, no. Apart from that she would need to do some scouting of her own. All in all it the night was laid out for her. It was the burden of the Caster class, while the warriors and archers needed only stay vigilant for when the moment of battle came, the Caster must toil and toil ceaselessly to maintain their balance of power... "I would also request that I be given prana, a little more now will do me well, for I have many projects I desire to invest in to ensure your... inevitable victory." "I would also request that I be given prana, a little more now will do me well, for I have many projects I desire to invest in to ensure your... inevitable victory." Matt jumped at the sound of Caster's voice. Suddenly the world all rushed back to him. Caster. The war. The darkness that surrounded him and the fatigue which naturally came with it. Matt looked at his clothes, caked in dirt and weeds. His only set of clothing. He looked back at Caster. "Um. Prana... Yes, of course." Matt walked over to his Servant, clearing his thoughts of the garden and it's flowers. He opened his circuits, releasing his energy, focusing on Caster as he did so. His prana left his body leaving him utterly exhausted. "There. I think I'll go rest now, Maybe get this dirt off my clothes." He walked back inside the house, choosing one of the many bedrooms to claim as his own. Prana transfer: -6.75 prana |

Humming to herself as she walked down the hall Cora smiled dreamily herself as she passed the hallway mirror. This was so exiting! They were finally going to go on that vacation! They had all been planing it for so long, and somehow when that lovely woman (Her aunt, wasn't it? She couldn't quite remember..) had come in they all knew it was finally time. Despite her family's wealthy status her parents had simply never been much for travel, and they rarely went through with the trips they talked about making. Now was different though, she had always wanted to go to New Zealand and now they were finally getting up and shoving out the door. It made her want to jump for joy! Turning to get one last thing from her room she opened the door- only to find to her shock and outrage that SOMEONE WAS IN HER ROOM! It was that other guy! The one who had come in with her aunt (Her aunts husband? She couldn't remember that either somehow...) to watch the house. He was dressed in a grubby outfit and looked like he had been weeding or something! "Hey! Just because I'm leaving don't mean you can have my room!" She yelped in outrage. |

Prana transfer: +6.75= +202.5 prana 2800/2991.5 Skuld shuddered very slightly as her Master transmitted extra prana to her swelling her power and going slightly over the comfortable maximum of her usual capacity, like a rodent, its mouth stuffed with more food than it can stomach. She would have to use it quickly before the excess power was lost to natural entropy and bled out into the environment around her. Assuming spirit form she vaulted to the very peek of the house where she surveyed the land she had laid claim to. It was dark, but not to dark to judge her purpose. The house and its property were oddly shaped, with an almost teardrop like formation, narrow in the front where the building itself and the narrow paved lot was yet fanning out in the back into a large blob of a yard rich with flora and various decorations. She would need to encompass the entire thing in her bounded field to ensure maximum security, meaning that it would have to be large. She reflected idly how inappropriate this all way, that a queen should be laying out plans like some kind of base born shipwright or stone mason. Perhaps that was why it was said that sorcery was an inappropriate art for a King? Still, Sorcery had its requirements, demands that did not give way before the wishes of royalty, and for now her magic was her only ally. Well then, no time to waste. Alighting on one end of the yard Skuld took physical form and begun to trace, her finger weaving complex patterns over the ground. It was as simple as that. Apart from the hypnotism she had preformed earlier this was the first magic she had employed upon her return to the world of the living, and this was no simple hypnotism, a spell that could be imitated easily by mortals, no, this was a true spell. Moving quickly over the ground Skuld felt the prana go out of her as she poured it into the earth, rooting the power down and weaving its design like an architect of dreams. Loosing herself in the trance of magic Skuld began to walk, slowly moving down the length of the yard. Servants of the different classes prided themselves on many things, the Saber on their swordsmanship, the Berserker on their strength, the lancer and rider on their overwhelming speed, almost all Servants in fact took a measure of pride from their speed, it was the mark of a warrior, of a hunter, and the fact that they could move so much faster than humans was a mark of their status as divine legends, having transcended humanity. But not so the Caster class she reflected. The Caster class alone out of all the classes was inherently a builder. Even when they unleashed a spell of destruction they were still 'Building' the spell which wreaked such devastation, and for a builder, a true builder, speed was not the determining factor. Really when one though about it the real reason that speed was so important to the Servants of the other class was a very simple reason. Time was the enemy of Servants. It sapped their power, weakened their connection to the world, brought them low... But to a Caster time was difrent. A Casters art naturally took time, and where other Servants floundered under the weight of passing time Casters only grew stronger because of it, their assets and powers building on each other the longer they were given to shape the world around them. Skuld was a builder, and this was going to take time. |

Matt moaned softly before smiling at the woman who'd yelled at him. Best to wait for them to leave without causing a scene. "Oh, I'm sorry Ma'am. I thought this was the guest room. Excuse me." Matt passed the woman into the hallway, being careful not to brush into her. "Now, where can I place my things?" The woman seemed confused for a moment but eventually a look of acceptance passed over her face. "Down the hall, deary." Matt and the hypnotized woman parted ways, him to rest in his new room and her to pack for her "trip". |

Skuld circled the house and its land again and again, weaving her prana into tangled webs of enchantment which she spun around and around the property, thread by thread like an oversized black spider. The creation took hours, Skuld moving at the pace of a mortal as she traced with her fingers and chanted with her lips. When it was finally done three hours latter it was half an hour passed midnight. When Skuld finally opened her eyes and surveyed her handiwork the house and its yard had been enclosed in a woven ring of her sorcery. It would take tremendous strength to force ones way into this outpost now, and if someone tried it she would know. A feeling of nervousness that she hadn't even been aware of eased slightly as she tested the circles power. A certain sense of exposure that had been present before its construction had been dispelled and all at once she was filled with a vigor for her other tasks. It was like she could almost see the Grail even now, and if she could but work fast enough her chances of victory would be that much closer. Well then, the night was young and she had all the prana she could desire. Somewhere around two hours ago the occupying family had left, taking one of their colorful cars with them meaning that the house was now her's entirely. Flying downstairs and into the basement she saw to her displeasure that the husband of the house had only partially obeyed her orders and moved a few of the many boxes out. With the amount of clutter that was inhabiting this space it could take her several minuets to clear it out by hand. The thought soured her mood instantly. She was a Queen, and the thought of expending her effort on such a menial task galled her. Raising her arms over her head Skuld uttered: "Svarn øknla Auao." All at once the small basement was filled with a terrible explosion of wind. Boxes, crates and half a dozen years worth of nicknacks exploded, reduced to ruble in an instant by the power of her magics. Easing off the spell Skuld used the excess wind to sweep the piles of rubble into a distant corner and clear the air of the clouds of dust her magic had created. Now... Setting to work Skuld invoked her Territory Creation, reaching deep into her memories and channeling them into the present. From thin air she snatched wooden mixing bowls, stone mortars and pedestals, implements of steel and iron and bone, vials of blown glass, countless herbs and every variety of tool or regent that a witch could use. It was not her territory, not truly, but simply a workshop, a minor center of power from where she could work her spells and make her concoctions with efficiency. This house was to her liking, but it was no suitable place for her true War Camp from which she would launch her conquest of the city. It was an outpost only, a place from where she could observe, and stay close to the flow of events. A place where she could placate her Master. Her Master. There was simply no other way around it. So far from all appearances her Master was a very foolish man, an honorable man maybe, in his own insignificant way but seemingly overly concerned with the welfare of others. He did not seem to have a good grasp of what this war was about, he did not seem to have the will to hurt even a fool much less another Magi, he did not seem to have much common sense and above all he did not seem to have the heart of a warrior. She would have to keep a close eye on him as well as limit his exposure to her true methods. It would be tricky, but then again she was tricky, and with the right cunning and magic she felt sure she could deceive such a simple soul without much trouble. At the same time however it would be necessary to make the most of him. Charms to protect him, potions to make him stronger, an amulet to swell his magic capacity... Hmmm. That would have to come latter. It took longer than she had hoped for but fifteen minuets latter Skuld hung the last regents on the wall. The basement had been transformed, where once there was a simple room filled to bursting with junk, now what was clearly the workshop of a Magus stood before her. She had made it all, shelves now lined to bursting with herbs and ingredients, a workbench laden with tools and in the center of the room a fire pit. Sweeping from the room Skuld made her way to the top of the stairs where she turned and shut the door. Raising her arms over her head she began a low chant, and ten lines latter the creeping mist arose in the room. Curling up with ethereal fingers it flooded over the door frame and a moment latter consolidated. All signs of the doorway had disappeared under a wafting curtain of mist. One could not be to careful. Pacing into the front room of the house Skuld listened for the sound of Matt's breathing and quickly pinpointed it. He had chosen one of the rooms in the upper loft portion of the house, and she could tell by his breathing patterns that he was sound asleep. Now would be as good a time as ever to begin she supposed, before other issues arose to distract her. Also, having summoned her only today her master would probably be sleeping deeply making the deception more simple. Decided, Skuld shifted to spirit form and flew through the front door. She crossed over her newly made bounded field, confidant in its strength, and sped off bound northward, retracing the steps that they had just traveled a few hours back. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Prana expenditure: Eiksirkel (The Norn Sheild) Large Rank A+: -260 Poison Wind: - 40 Mist Phantasm Rank C: -15 Prana: 2800/2676.5 Going To: Secret War Camp Post #1 Edited by Beloss, May 14 2013, 10:46 AM.

Coming From: Secret War Camp Post # 1 ______________________________________ Time: 6:00 AM Returning just before the dawn Skuld flew though the front wall of her outpost and listened. Her master was still asleep from the sound of his breathing though that would probably not be true for long. There was still time then to work her power. Entering her Basement Workshop she selected her tools and went to work. Item Creation was a tricky skill, probably one of the most time consuming arts that a Servant could preform. She did not expect to finish before her master awoke, but even so it would be best to start. Slowly, and amulet began to form under the encouragement of her deft hands... Up above on the second floor Skuld was suddenly aware of a change in her masters breathing. So, he would awaken soon then. Leaving her mostly finished amulet on the table she journeyed upstairs. White shadows fell to the frost covered ground, black chimera lost the energy of life, beasts of faint resemblance to men were torn apart by far greater beasts of far greater resemblance. Death seemed to watch over the frozen warzone as did several other lesser spirits, one embodying the glory of man and another the image of his regrets. One of the spirits sat at the edge of the battlefield watching her soldiers and sisters and friends fall to the monstrosities which she once called kin. She could only stand helpless as the enemies slowly advanced, gradually approaching her and the end of this battle. The monsters thought nothing of her nor her family. They couldn't understand the cruel irony of this battle; they marked her an evil witch, but her actions were led only by liberation and payback. Had her mother kept her, had her father loved her, had her brother allowed her husband freedom this battle never would have happened. The enemy approached, making a slaughter out of a battle. No life escaped their blade, every cry for mercy ended with the accent of blood. The woman stared at the battlefield and all her fallen warriors. The people she'd grown up with, the ones who raised her, her soldiers and sisters and friends, all dead. For her. For her cause. For her revenge. The woman smiled. Fate, it seemed, was the cruelest of all her tormentors, but she could prevent such a tragic end. Death seemed to watch over the frozen warzone, but Death was little more than a toy at this point. The woman, the witch, began to cast her greatest spell, a spell which would end both the battle and her suffering. The sky turned dark... As Caster threaded black magic throughout the mansion and the city, Matt turned in his sleep. Regen: +6.75 prana |

Matt, still in bed sat up with a start. This was not his bed, this was not his room, and these were certainly not his clothes. Matt stood up stepping on a small pile of laundry, mostly green and covered in dirt stains and stray petals. Upon seeing the petals of the magnolias the memories of the previous night came rushing back; the Church, the summoning, the mansion, the strange dream... He looked at the borrowed clothing; slightly too large orange shirt, slightly too tight jeans, the standard black boots. Feeling around his chest, Matt ensured the "dragon" amulet remained. The clothes weren't the best, but he didn't have time to wash his uniform just yet. Matt looked at the clock and, upon realising how late it was, dashed down the stairs searching for Caster. He found her sitting calmly in the lounge as if waiting for him. "Good Morning." Matt smiled at her. "I trust you slept well... ah... assuming you still sleep." Matt entered the kitchen and began to search the pantry. At first he felt guilty for stealing, but it would do no good to be hungry in the heat of battle. Matt regretfully ate a bowl of cornflakes. Matt yelled from the kitchen. "So what do we do know? How do we get this Grail?" |

"I did." Skuld said, eying her masters breaking of fast meal. She would need to acquire appropriate servants to see to her masters mundane needs, not to mention any minor tasks that she might have need of in particular. It was just another task on an endless list of things she still needed to do. Well, at least the night had been well spent. It was probable that at this very moment frost was now creeping along the ground that had been subsumed by her territory creation. So what do we do know? How do we get this Grail?" "For us the path of the grail lies, at least for now, through patience. We will observe our enemy's, build our forces and wait till the time is right. For one who is wise even three years is a short time to wait before attacking, so long as victory is assured in the end. For this city it seems that a powerful ley line runs from the forest into the city. Because of the nature of this ritual, we can assume that several others will intersect it at some point within the city limits. That intersection will be the four King Squares of the game, the throne room in which the Grail itself will finally manifest. That place will be our final objective, and when the time comes we will need to march on it to make it our own. For now however, it will be better to allow the fools to fight over it and weaken themselves while we grow stronger on the sidelines." Skuld crossed the room and opened one of the cupboards in the kitchen as well looking for anything that might suit her tastes. What she had not told her Master was that she had access to a very powerful army, an army that would serve her quite well when it came to meeting other Servants head on, the nature of that army however, there could be no telling how he would react, so for now there was simply no reason to tell him. |
