In the rather confined space of her new workshop making the correct runic configurations in the right way was more troublesome than she had anticipated. Moreover it was was the middle of the day, and the energies of the place she was inhabiting were completely wrong besides. If it had been possible she would have much preferred to preform such an endeavor in her War Camp in the forest. As it was though, the camp was incomplete and she had a need for servants now. Scrawling the last few runes on the dirt of the floor Skuld walked into the middle of the circle and closed her eyes. Till now she had been alone with only her Master to aid her. The state was almost like being crippled, indeed at this point there was not a single Servant in the city that she would want to face. This would not change that, but it was a beginning. Skuld felt inside and began the ritual. Reaching deep down inside her she envisioned the final moments of her life, the pain rage and anger that accompanied it simmering on the edge of her consciousness. Reaching further back she pried into another memory, and another and another. Her army was crumbling before her a massive bear tearing her champions apart and cutting off her magic. She was stumbling, half blind and starving though the icy hell of Niflheim with only a few paltry enchantments between her and the hungering cold that would sap the life from her body if her defenses flagged for even a moment. Her father was walking away, his back turned towards her as he made for the stables accompanied by a swarm of drunken men to ride off and out of her life for another few years... The tapped memory's did their work quickly, boiling the mass of prana inside her body like a fire over a cauldron into the churning stew of hate and resentment that was necessary for this particular mystery. Opening her mouth Skuld let the words pour from her lips into the open air. The air inside the room rippled as the call went out and for a moment their was silence. And then the whispering began. Skuld could feel them coming, answering her call. The ghosts of those long dead drawn like flies to rotting meat to the banquet of negative emotion she had laid out. The dead travel fast, or so it was said in another legend. Skuld had never met the Terror of Wallachia but the saying at least was true. Within minuets of her call the dead were brushing up against the edges of her bounded field, pacing like hungry wolves eager to get inside the sheep's pen. Skuld smiled and lowered her barrier for just a moment. It was all they needed, the spirits came howling into the house searching for the reward that had lured them from their haunts and made them daring enough even to face the morning sun. They came crashing down into the workshop all wind and fury and in an instant they were on her seeking to fill her heart with terror and stop her pulse in any way they could. They were old powerful malicious spirits, all five and as they flew at her Skuld got a small measure of each one. A plague victim, a condemned thief, a woman thrice widowed, dog starved by its own master and a solder, his spirit biter as gall from some nameless injustice done to him. To a human the assault would have been an overwhelming jolt of cold and panic, but Skuld was no human. With detached expression and a flick of her wrist she spoke the last few words of the ritual and watched as the spirits quivered and raged, subdued by the magical trap that she had laid out. They struggled futility for a moment, but the spell that had ensnared them was strong and old. Speaking quickly Skuld laid out her instructions for them. The plague victim was to migrate to her Territory and keep watch while the thief and the solder would patrol the city looking for enemy's. The dog and the widow however she sent on the trail of her Master. To sniff him out, see where he went and if possible keep him from harm. It was not a task that they wanted, but the power of her magic compelled them. After giving them the sent of his power the two wraiths sped off in pursuit. Skuld smiled as she watched them go. The Dead traveled fast indeed. In the meantime, it was time to get back to her work. Carefully removing the traces of her ritual Skuld moved from her workshop once more, and flew into the open air, heading back towards her Secret Territory. 9:30 AM __________________________________________ Vile Spirit Summoning. 30 + 5 per Servant summoned (5 summoned) + Unfavorable Conditions (10)= -65 Prana. http://w11.zetaboards.com/fate_requiem/topic/8585519/3/?x=0#post8235706 Matt stood outside the door, terrified of the what may await inside. He'd been gone for nearly five hours, so the possibility of the Servant not noticing his absence was slim to none. A shiver ran down his spine as doubts began to form. Caster wouldn't kill him, but there's no telling what she'd do in her anger. She might resort to torture, or maybe she'd turn him into a vegetable or something... Matt opened the door like a child past curfew, but immediately began looking for the Servant. Regardless of what she might do, he still needed her to obtain the Holy Grail. But where was she? He searched every room of the house, then the yard, then the house again. At one point he entered a room which gave him a strange, mesmerizing feeling, but Caster didn't seem to be in there either. Eventually he gave up. "Oh, what to do?" He couldn't go back to Brandfourth's fortress until he'd made amends with Caster. How could he ally with someone, or even take base unless he had consulted with his preexisting ally. But he couldn't just wait around; Brandfourth still had his amulet, and who knew when Caster would be back? He closed the door to the house, then walked along the road. He'd no idea where the Servant could be, but sitting around would be pointless. If Brandfourth's Servant could make a fortress appear in the middle of a city, perhaps other Servants could perform similar feats. Caster didn't want to fight, so she wouldn't be out hunting Servants. If her divination was as great as she claimed she wouldn't be looking for him, as she'd know he was already back. She could be out foraging for supplies, but somehow she didn't seem the type to do her own dirty work. If she wasn't here, she had to be somewhere else. Matt walked away from the building, headed towards the center of town. From what he'd seen Caster was the princess type; she wanted only the best. So she'd probably be somewhere luxurious. Besides the Residential area, the only places he'd seen in town to fit that description were some nice hotels, the shopping district and a large building to the north of the hospital. With anxious thoughts of their meeting, Matt set out to find his Servant. Edited by TresserT, Apr 7 2013, 06:27 PM.

Fontaine Estate Pt. 1 Slow steps could be heard while Arséne was walking the road, his eyes sometimes looking around. There weren't many people around, but he still tried to stay away from anyone for now. His thoughts were on his troubles. The situation was... bad, he had no idea if and when These people could find him. At least he had already started to write down everything of his past adventures in a laptop. Altough they didn't really deserve such a wording. He had also included a instruction on how to use abilities as his, though he was unsure about that. The texts had been... vague, but there were mentions that said that the number of magic users was small. If anyone got his laptop, would they even be able to do anything? It had taken him months of experimentin to acchieve anything and he was still limited to that first skill. "Servants, Masters, what does that mean? He didn't think it had anything to do with roleplay, especially considering the inhuman nature of these... things. Just what could he do to protect himself and his family. That was an especially bad thought. If there were People like that, could they harm a group as powerful as his family? If they could do things like these People in Robes from the time with the fire shooting woman.... no, he couldn't take chances. Maybe he should inform his parents? They were experienced and he had the vague idea that his grandfather knew what he could do. The old man was very perceptive. |

Matthew Sangke Day 2- 12:45- Fine House No sooner had Matt left the perimeter than he came across a man. The man was seemingly normal, completely uninteresting, so Matt walked along without even noticing him. Then the man muttered something. "Servants, Masters, what does that mean?" Having passed the man, Matt spun around almost immediately. He dashed towards the man, approaching him from behind. Completely unaware, the man kept walking. Matthew spoke. "What did you say?" The thought of taking a battle stance had not yet crossed his mind, but Matthew stood tense, ready to attack or flee if the situation called for it. |

Arséne Fontaine Day 2- 12:48- Fine House Arséne blinked and turned around in surprise. The voice he had heard had asked what he had said. What he had said... For only a moment there was a look of fear on his face before he banished it. It couldn't be that this man was one of... them? He tried to smile and look as uninteresting and as non-suspicious as possible. "Oh, I wasn't talking about anything important." Well, there was a chance that this man wouldn't do something bad to him if he knew the truth, but what if the man didn't actually know of that? Maybe he could act like he was in the know instead of actually a random guy that had been thrown into this. Maybe someone that hadn't yet gotten all the details? But how to ask? Maybe he could say something that only such a person would understand. Well... if you want to know He said after a moment of thought. "There was this one woman who called herself a Servant" That was actually more a theory. He didn't know if the woman that could throw fire was also a Servant, it was just very likely. "and she could do some very impressive things with fire and lightning. He put a big emphasis on the more important parts of his sentence. If the man had misunderstood him, he would just think he was talking about a movie or a videogame. He surpressed his nervousness with an act of will. He needed more information dammit. Matthew Sangke Day 2- 12:49- Fine House Matt's eyes widened as his situation sunk in. Before him stood a man who knew about the war, which meant he was probably a Master, which meant there was probably a Servant somewhere nearbye. And without Caster around to fight said Servant... Well, thean hadn't yet attacked. Maybe it would be best to play it cool. Putting on an (unintentionally) exxagerated look of surprise, Matt put a hand to his chest and gasped. "Servants who make fire and lightning? What, is she bad with an oven? Or you meant she actually creates them. But, of course, that's impossible, so there's no way you could mean that." He laughed feebly. "Oh, by the way, do you mind if I look at your hands?" Edited by TresserT, Apr 20 2013, 08:08 AM.

Arséne tried to continue smiling. Wasn't this going quite alright? He wasn't being attacked by fireballs or lightning bolts and nobody was moving with inhuman speed. He listened to the words of the man and stopped himself from frowning. Why would the other person ask for his hand? Was there some special kind of handshake that was used by these people? He sweated. That was not a problem, right? If he didn't know the handshake, they would just misunderstand him. Yes everything was safe. His left hand moved forward and he showed it to the other man without a second thought. He blinked in surprise as he noticed something. "Hey, I didn't know I had any tattoos." It wasn't important after all, but still, when did he get that. He wasn't the type to get drunk. Maybe some of the people in Christian robes had gotten him? But then, why did he still remember this incident with the fire and lightning throwing woman? A Mistake of them? Unlikely, but what then. Edited by Heaven Canceler, Apr 20 2013, 10:35 AM.

Matt tried not to sweat. This man was a Master, which meant he was in serious danger. But... why hadn't the man's Servant attacked yet? It would be nothing for it to kill him, magic-less and Servant-less. And the man didn't seem to realise what the symbols of God meant... Matt continued smiling, thinking he understood the situation a bit better. After all, he'd been in it only a day before. He extended his hand, revealing his own Command Seals. "I'm Matt. I have to wonder, do you know what that tattoo is?" |

Arséne was somewhat confused. This situation wasn't what he had expected. The man actually looked like he was more interested in the tattoo then any handshake. His eyes wandered over the place. There were a few people there... so, was it possible that he wouldn't do anything? If he remained silent it could end bad, if he said that he knew what the tattoo means he would be found out soon, so there was only one thing. Play as dumb as possible and act like you are a total moron. "Yeah! You see, I don't remember getting it. So no, I have no idea what it means. But seriously, who goes and puts tattoos on other People without telling them? If my parents see this, they are going to kill me." Hopefully that sounded naive enough. Though he was exaggerating, he did feel a certain dread. His father could be quite strict, but his mother was way too scary. Hell, she could give a number of trained hitman a run for their money when it comes to looking evil. Literally, as in, she had scared the shit out of them whenever they broke a piece of her ceramic dishes. Sure, there was his trick, but it wouldn't work too often and there were always so many people in the house. The only place where he could get any privacy was his room and even that one was probably bugged. If there was anything his family took serious, it was security. |

Matt truly laughed aloud, something he hadn't done in a long, long time. His guess had been correct; this man had no idea what he'd gotten himself into. Though if he were honest with himself, neither did Matt. "The one who gave you this is not a person, it was God, and He chose you to fight in a great war. You know those Servants, the ones who shot fire and lightning? You can have one to fight for you. I have one too!" Matt raised his hand, revealing his own command seals. He smiled cheerily at the man. "These show that you're a human in the war of Servants. I think they call use Masters." |
