Hello there! Just wanted to post this to quickly say hello and lay down some basics on how Forgotten Fables is going to be. First and foremost I will introduce myself, my name is GhostToaster and I'm the founder/creator of this wonderful game! However, I'm not the only one who can make it work, so we have a team of wonderful admins and moderators as well! But even they can't get this game working by themselves, that's where all you come in! The players, you are the most important part of the entire gaming equation! Without you, we would be making a game for no purpose! The game is in a state currently which is unplayable, I do apologize that it isn't up and ready to go. We are working as fast as we can, working around our crazy lives to get work done on this game. You can hopefully expect this game to be in a playable state by at least the first week of February!

Next I want to go over all the exciting things we've got planned for the game so far, things you can hopefully look forward to while we are getting the game put together. First off, this is an RPG, you will be making a character, giving them an appearance and personality and even a backstory if you desire. Next, you will adventure out into the vast world to complete quests, slay great evils and monsters, collect some awesome equipment to give your character and you can even adventure out with other players and take on things like raids and challenging dungeons. There are going to be quests for you to complete and most of them are optional side quests, which will still hold great rewards for those whom actually take on these optional quests. There are also storyline quests, which will be released in chapters. For example, when the game is released it'll initially be in Chapter 1, each chapter presents a certain amount of storyline quests and other content as well (such as new weapons, level cap raise, items, areas and monsters). For this first chapter we hope to have at least five storyline quests with the release along with a handful of side quests and other content for you to explore. The first chapter will be known as Chapter 1: The Wake and will introduce players to the world and will send them on a journey to search for a lost child, but things turn around and such a simple task turns out to be one of great danger and much more perilous then you first imagined.

Finally I want to just list some quick ideas I have for events that may possibly happen in the near future, just to get everyone excited:

  • Dragons! Dragons everywhere!: This is quite a bold event on our part, and will more than likely not be a chapter 1 release event, but is an event I've worked over in my head quite a bit, so I plan to eventually implement it. What the event is about is that three ancient dragons awoke from their slumber and are attacking three individual towns. So you - the players - must quickly run to the rescue of these towns and take down these vicious dragons before they destroy the town! If you successfully manage to take down a dragon, you will be rewarded with some amazing loot, everyone who partook in the event will get some sort of reward. Here's the catch though, if you fail to kill the dragon, the town will truly be destroyed. Not permanently, but the town will be destroyed and under reconstruction for quite some time, meaning you'll lose access to all the things that town holds for that time.
  • Ascending Tower: This tower oddly enough, seems to continuously grow, adding more floors to itself as new monsters are discovered. This wont necessarily be an event, but hopefully a full update. How the tower works is you start at the first floor and take a wave of something easy like maybe some spore mites or slimes, but as you progress up the tower, it becomes more and more difficult and eventually you reach a point where you will be challenging previous bosses you've foughten! Or even two bosses at the same time! Some floors also have special conditions, like no using any fire related abilities or things of the sort, to provide even more of a challenge.
  • Guild Wars: Guilds are currently non-existent, but soon we will be making four guilds for which players will be sorted into. Each guild stands for something different, whether it is in the way the guild makes tactics or just the way the guild functions. Once per year though, a massive guild war will break out and players will be able to join the battlegrounds and fight against other guilds, the thing with this however, is that once you die in the battlegrounds, you don't get to stay on the battlegrounds. If you die on the battlegrounds, you are done, you can't visit the battlegrounds anymore. You will also be able to gather resources and build buildings to help your guild advance on the battlefield. Once a guilds members are all dead or their Keep has been destroyed, the guild will be taken out of the guild wars and the remaining guilds will continue to duke it out. The winners of the guild wars will receive a chest full of exclusive goodies that can only be obtained through the guild wars.
I've got so many more ideas I hope to share with you in good time. As for now though, I got to get back to work on the game! I hope to see everyone soon at the release of the game, you may also keep an eye on my blog, I will be posting developer blogs in there, once or twice a week.
Your fellow adventurer,
GhostToaster
