It had only been a little over a day since she had arrived here in the new Weyr, throwing herself into helping out as much as she could. The lack of runners was pushing her to seek new things to do, driven out of one area after another for being to helpful. This time, she'd been kicked out of the kitchens, getting a little to underfoot as she tried to help get supplies unpacked and tucked into their places. It was with a grumble under her breath that she made her way out into the bowl. Natrel was almost just a bronze gleam as he darted out a second later trilling to her. As she paused he landed upon her padded right shoulder and nuzzled her cheek making her smile a little. Tilting her head towards his a touch even as his tail curled about her upper arm as she began to walk. "I know, I know, I shouldn't be so upset. But i'm going to go crazy without runners to help with Natrel." She laughed as he chirruped at her, and put a delicate claw in her hair to hold on. "I know you miss them to, there will be more eventually." Natrel was one thing that could get her to come out of her gloomy moods, he was her closest friend and so long as he was somewhere, life was alright. Even when she was stuck alone and friendless as some saw it. They didn't understand why she didn't get along so well with most of the girls. She'd a friend here and there, especially when it came to the younger candidates who she got into more than one scrap to keep from being bullied. For now though, she didn't have to worry so much about that. Only the candidates, riders, and those needed were here right now. Which really left her with way to much freetime in some ways. With so few about the only thing hiding her feminine form was the baggy shirt she wore, no need to make her chest sore binding her breasts down when there was no-one to tease her or likely land in a fight with. Half closing her eyes as a warm breeze ruffled her short hair as she made her way across the bowl. Half lost in her thoughts even as she shared them with the talkative Natrel, wondering where she could explore that they wouldn't get upset with her. Being as small as she was it meant sometimes the Rider's got a little protective over her, afraid she'd hurt herself or the like. She may have gotten used to it but that didn't mean she liked it. After all, if she got stuck or something Natrel could get someone to help her now couldn't he? |

A shadow passed overhead, not quite a wild animal. Too large to be one, and besides, the amount of animals here were limited in the barren lands of the Western continent where Galvalin was located. It wasn't that there was a complete lack of life, it was just... limited. So there were few things that that shadow could be. A wherry that had been brought over, though the size and shape were all off, or... a dragon. Now that was more than just a possibility. This was, after all, a Weyr, despite being a new one. Dragons were bound to be everywhere, especially in the Weyrbowl. So now, it all came down to which dragon it was. A dark hide, that long body with that wingspan. This particular Blue was hard to mistaken for any other, especially when the light hit him in just the right places to reveal a row of stars that disappeared just as quickly beneath Rukbat's rays into his dark hues. Wings angled as the body came sweeping downwards, fast and quick, and then a breeze as a sharp lift was taken. Wings spread as talons touched down gently upon the floor with the Blue's landing. The dragon wasn't quite done yet it seemed, shifting his weight slightly and allowing his rider to swing their legs over to one side, staying still as they slide down his neck to his shoulder and down down his limb. They had found no new candidates so far, with their overall sweep, and perhaps it was just as well. His rider was rather nervous as she was, her hands working into smoothing out her outfit as she muttered softly beneath her breath. He recognized all those signs after all. She was his bonded, how could he not? And those were the reasons why he did not react to the sight of one of their candidates nearby. It would have alerted his rider as well, and she would not have taken it easily, with the state she was right now. She would calm down in a few moments, quickly enough to gather herself enough to not completely break down when that candidate reached them anyways. It was also to that reason that he did not grumble at the sight of that Bronze either. Jevenoth was not at all fond of firelizards, preferring for them to stay wild and especially away from his. After all Lihana was his, not some creature who impressed via the use of something like food, important part of life as it was. So instead, he waited for his to gather herself enough before sweeping his long neck about her, finally making her aware that they were not alone as she though in the area and snorting at the tiny Bronze in annoyance. There was the slightest nod of his head towards his bonded, for he had no qualms with her, but the lizard he did not like. Lihana's eyes widened as she stopped muttering to herself, her fingers of her right hand quickly tangling themselves into the clothe of her shirt at the sight of a stranger. Her voice caught in her throat and she was left standing there. Calm enough now not to jump back onto Jevenoth and run, but still herself enough to panic at the pressure of meeting somebody new. After all, this was Lihana they were talking about. She did manage a squeak from her throat though as she tensed over, her mind working frantically to find something, anything to say. |

She'd looked up as the shadow slid over her and Natrel watching as she debated which Dragon that was. It took her only a few moments to decide just which it was, who the rider was and such. Fingers still idly played over Natrel's bronze hide as she watched them fly down to land. Debating now dare she try to speak to the Rider. Chewing her bottom lip a little in thought as her steps resumed slowly before she paused, a safe distance away, at least she hoped, as from what she knew of this rider he or She as it was rumored, tended to bolt quickly. The toe of one boot was used to rub the ground as she looked down, before lifting her hand from Natrel to wave as she looked up at Lihana. Calling out "Hello...." the uncertainty was clear in her voice as she wanted to meet this Rider. She was one of the few she only knew a little about, and none of it was anything she was sure about. There was a certain pride in her for knowing so much about Dragons and their Riders. One again her teeth caught her bottom lip to chew upon it. Half ready to brace herself from the wind that would be stirred up by Jevenoth if Lihana leapt on and asked him to leave quickly. She'd had noted Jevenoth's nod, and had returned it though she didn't speak to him directly yet. Some riders thought it rude or the like for someone to speak to their Dragon. |

There was no particular way to prepare for any meeting. Not for Lihana. And as of such, as this stranger came closer, she tensed over. Still, she knew that hopping onto Jevenoth was about as useful as trying to jump between by herself. The Blue had settled down now, though his eyes followed the Bronze firelizard’s every movement rather than paying its handler any mind. The Blue did nothing to hide his distaste of the little thing, curling his tail about his bonded almost possessively as he growled slightly in his throat at the little Bronze. Still, he fell silent soon enough, laying himself out on the ground from tail to head, eyes still following the flitter. Lihana, however, didn’t quite calm down. Instead, she wrung her hands together, eyes slightly wide. She looked rather like a nervous boy, as common as it was for her to be mistakened as a feminine young boy rather than a young woman that she was. That was no wonder though, with her neat appearances and all those scars. Scars that probably helped to explain just why it was that she looked as if she expected Merri to pull a knife on her. Looked as if she was getting ready for a fight or to run at any given moment. Still, it seemed rather normal, because her Blue certainly wasn’t reacting to it. Instead, the dragon seemed to have decided that since the Bronze wasn’t going to be any threat to his rider or any source of irritation to either of them, he merely closed his eyes and seemed content to take a nap. His bonded seemed to struggle for a moment, backing up against him. It was only with his warmth upon his back that she seemed capable of talking actually, “Ah… erm… Hi?” Well, there was no way to mistaken her for a boy now. She might looked somewhat like one, but she certainly didn’t sound nor speak like one. “Wasn’t… erm… w-was-wasn’t ex-expecting an-anybody right ab-about now…” |
