When Azmariask started to puff up, it seemed that all Heleth did was become rather amused. There was no other way to describe the sniff at the Wher, not that it did much, seeing as how dragons didn’t really have much of a sense of smell. She did, however, croon when Azmaria scratched her eye ridge, eyes swirling a hue of green blue in contentment. Well, the handler was right, she wouldn’t hurt them. Why would she hurt her bonded’s friends after all? That made absolutely no sense at all. So instead, she turned her head to Cernt, the tip of her tongue peeking out of her jaws as she licked his cheek before pulling out her head to allow for them to exit the rather dark tunnel into the weyrbowl.

The Green still heard what it was that Azmaria had said though and she puffed out her chest in pride, starting to preen. Cernt merely rolled his eyes then as Helitet let out a quiet little giggle. Still, there was that hint of pride within his smirk as he nodded at the young handler, “Of course she is. That’s Heleth after all.”
He chuckled slightly, stepping out into the Weyrbowl, “You think she’s large, you just wait till you see the Queen.” He shrugged slightly, “but she’s mine and she’s perfect.”

Heleth let out another croon then, now stretching out and laying her head onto the ground. She was watching the green Wher now, curious and all together quite intrigued by the smaller dragonic creature.

"Oh no! I wouldn't like to meet the Queen." Az murmured, the idea of meeting a creature bigger than even this green intimidating at the same time as her attention was focused mostly on the dragon rather than Cernt or anyone else at that point. Azmariask found this displeasing though, and snorted unhappily in the dragons' direction. While she wasn't against meeting this creature, she was against the creature taking her Mine's attention away from the place where it should be.

"Is it true? T-the dragons a-are a reflection of th-their riders? I... I think she she suits you...Cernt." Immediately her cheeks coloured brightly and the girl dropped her head slightly, allowing the curtain of her hair to hide her face from veiw as she twisted her hands in her clothes. Why did she always say stupid things like that? And why around him? Why did she always have to act like an idiot around him?

"S-sorry. I sh-shouldn't have said that."

Cernt missed the Queen comment, seeing as how he managed to get into a sort of argument with his sister. A quiet argument without a single word even. As Helitet made her gestures, he matched them with his own. A shifting of his foot that indicated a slight annoyance, the furrowing of his brows. Eventually, the candidate sighed, shaking her head. She huffed at him and rolled her eyes, but still and for a moment, it was unclear as to who had just won this little fight.

Then, the candidate shook her head slowly and threw her hands in the air. So... she had lost then. Still, there was any grudge there as she leaned in and kissed his cheek. Another gesture from Cernt and she nodded tapping Azmaria on the shoulder. There was a moment of struggling then as she muttered a single 'bye' and sulked off somewhere. Probably back to the barracks. Or what passed off as the barracks.

Then, Cernt blinked as he returned his attention to Azmaria, "Said... what?" His brows furrowed once more before the question sunk in and he blinked. Once, then twice. Looking a little bit confused.
"Now... where did you hear that? That's not really true, though to some extent I suppose so. Each dragon has their own personality just like their riders after all. Heleth here? She's far too nice to be a real reflection of me, and I'm far too... what's that the word that the others use? Stuck up? To be a reflection of her. Still..." he paused for a moment, that smirk like grin across his features, "Thanks. I would be worried otherwise if she didn't."

"J-just something I heard." Infact it had been soemthing that had been pounded into her head as a wherling. Dragons might have chosen their riders to be a reflection of them but Whers were different, Whers were their own person and would always be their own creature. They obeyed because they wanted to, not because they had to and the bond could just as easily be broken. Whers weren't bound for life.

Surprise and an expression like regret briefly showed in her eyes when Helitet ran off, but she waved none the less, wondering where the girl was going at the same time as knowing it was none of her business and knowing better than to ask when it didn't concern her in anyway.
"I don't think you're stuck up." As the hours and minutes ticked by, she was becoming more at ease with Cernt, though she still retained her upbringing in the way she spoke very calmly and properly, still maintained the 'ladylike' ideals that had been a part of her life. She was more likely to say what she thought, but in the same tone as she would greet him, hoping he wouldn't take offense.
"It's rude to assume something about a person anyway. Most holders will tell you that riders will jump anyone and have their way with them when they feel like it. And most dragonriders would tell you that whers are ugly and vicious and their handlers are rude and unsophisticated. Would you think that about me on our first meeting?"

Cernt's eyebrow met his fringes as he watched Azmaria for a while before shrugging, "Something you heard huh? Well, perhaps in some cases that's true, but not often. Dragons do have their own minds, go about doing their own things. It's just that the bond shared between rider and dragon is something that runs far too deep to be broken."
He shrugged, "I don't know how it works with whers, but Heleth here can completely ignore whatever I say if she so wanted to. It's not easy being a pair that doesn't get along, but those things do happen ever now and then as well."

He reached up, patting Heleth on the snout before turning his attention back to the handler. There was another slight shrug of his shoulders then, the movement barely noticeable.
"I am, if you ask anybody else," he drawled out, "I won't deny that. As for being rude, I hardly care for what somebody else thinks of my manners if I don't know them..."
He stopped there for a moment, looking up at the high reaching ceiling of the weyrbowl, "But... there is a point there. One never really knows just what it is that they're going to run into when meeting a person. I find it better just not to expect traits to surface simply because they fall into a certain group."

He eyed her for a moment now, placing his hand on Heleth's leg. That pause that stretched on for a while before he spoke, his voice almost soft.
"Our first meeting huh? The honest answer? You reminded me of her," he gestured his head towards the direction in which Helitet had left in, "Uncertain, quiet. Something about your past that still holds onto you. You also have family issues as well it seems." There was a laugh here, almost sharp, "But when it comes to my particular 'family' we all have family issues."

The word was used as if it was only just that, a word. As if the people whom was his actual family didn't really have any sort of meaning to the Greenrider. And perhaps, outside of a few, it was true enough. "We came from a large group, and so family isn't who we were born to but who we make it," he patted Heleth on her leg before leaning on it, watching Azmaria with a sort of mild intensity that would unnerve some others now.

"I don't really know much about whers myself. I mean, I had to learn mostly on my own with Azmariask. But I do know that... Well, the bond can be broken. If it's not strong, they can choose to be wild." It worried her, that come a time when Azmariask didn't want to be hers, she'd just run off into the wilderness, and never come back. Azmariask might not miss her, but Az had a feeling that the sensation of being left without Azmariask's thoughts and feelings in her mind would leave her a little more than just lonely. Sensing her handler's worry, the green turned from her watch of the dragon and made her way back to Az's side, leaning almost casually against her.

She reminded him of his sister? For some reasont hat Az couldn't name, that annoyed her, enough that she ducked her head so he couldn't see just how much. Helitet was nice, but she didn't want to be anyone's little sister, maybe one day she might have wished that, but with the problems her family had? She'd never wish that on anyone.
"I..." Family problems, issues? She supposed so, but not in the same way she would call issues,
"I just don't know my family well." Anyone good at reading tones and conversation would know that it wasn't a subject the girl was willing to talk about, but also a pain and hurt that wouldn't go away any time soon.
"At the same time, I know almost my whole family, just not well."

Not who we're born with.. Unconciously Az smiled, Cernt's single sentance about family made her feel a lot better than many people claiming that her family loved her, just didn't understand her, after all, what could be wrong about that. Azmariask was her family, but she hadn't been born into that, Azmariask had made their family.
"Thanks, Cernt."

Cernt shrugged ever so slightly then. None of them really knew about their partners till they came along. For all the talk there was about dragons, there were plenty of things that simply wasn't understood until one actually was bonded to a dragon. The entire impact of an impression, what it was to be caught in the middle of a flight...
He shrugged then, at the talk of knowing one's family. He didn't even know his entire family, he had, after all, no idea how many other children his father had gone off and sired. Or how many women his father had mingled with had other children with other men. So many brothers and sisters, some not even related at all by blood. Such was the way of a large family he supposed. Well, no. Such was the way of having a father who was in heat more often than a Green.

The Greenrider was baffled, however, when the handler thanked him. After all, he had no idea why she had gone and done that. Eyebrows disappearing into his fringe.
"Yeah..." he drawled out, "Whatever you say."

Meanwhile, Heleth was lowering her head to Azmariask now, nudging the wher gently with her snout in a playful manner. It seemed that the Green had grown bored of human attention now and was moving on to attempting to get the other Green's. Whers were such interesting creatures after all, she had never actually seen one this closely before. And she wasn't lying when she had told hers that she thought this creature was just utterly adorable. So now she thought that this cute little thing should be playing with her, now wouldn't that be fun?

She'd confused him! She could see it in his face, delight filled her and Azmaria's smile only brightened. It changed her features really, made her seem happier, brighter, perhaps even closer to her age than most people would assume. She liked it when she saw sides of Cernt she didn't previously get to see, after all he was so bottled up and quiet and... And Az didn't really understand him at all. She figured that it was possible all men were like that, and that it wasn't just him, or maybe it was just him and she couldn't figure him out. Was she stupid? Did he think she was silly? Or maybe just too young to bother with. She wasn't that young though.

Azmariask instantly hissed half heartedly at the other green, though didn't swipe at her, instead she moved backwards a little, flaring her wings in a playful invitation to play. She was used to playing with AzHers but she could make an exception she supposed, since AzHers was having fun. Though probably not for long.

"Cernt, shouldn't you be sleeping? I don't have to be awake during the day... But..."

Heleth seemed all together quite pleased at the wher's invitation to play. Inching closer, she stuck her tongue out and licked the other Green, only to pull away with a disappointed croon as Cernt blinked in reply to Azmaria's question.

She had a good point there after all. He did have things to do in the day. So it was really time for him and Heleth to get going now. The Green let out a whine like noise in response to that and Cernt shook his head.
He turned his attention back to Azmaria then, nodding this time, "I am supposed to be tucked away. It's later than usual now, and I do have to be up with Rukbat rises again. I presume we would simply meet again when we simply meet again."
