The crunch of her boots on the ground was the only sound Kyrri was paying attention to as she skipped across the weyrbowl. It wasn't so much a skip really as ever so slight a bounce thrown in with an energetic lope. The girl had energy to release, and yet living at the weyr had taken so much out of her that she barely had any energy left. It was a conflicting feeling. She had been here long enough to have it settle in that this was home now. She wasn't leaving; at least, not anytime soon.

Concentrating on the rhythmic sounds of her feet, Kyrri ran through what she had learned a few days back in the tunnels. Helitet had taught her some of the gestures and signs she used to speak. The girl was grateful for this. Helitet was a nice enough person, but sometimes it was hard to understand her near-mute friend. In learning some of her signs, Kyrri felt she would be able to better understand her. Ever since that lesson, she had been sure to run through the signs often enough that she wouldn't forget them. And besides, doing so gave her something to take her mind off of the chores that she was assigned, making time seem to fly by even quicker.

A couple of shadows passed by overhead, and Kyrri turned just in time to catch sight of a brown dragon and his rider coming in a little ways off. He didn't look like any dragon she had met yet, but that didn't really surprise her. She only knew a few riders, and this was a weyr, wasn't it? She watched the brown touch down and let his rider dismount. They were both too far away for her to recognize the rider, even f she had met them.

Stretching, Kyrri sat down then. She closed her eyes for barely a moment when the sound of someone approaching caught her attention.

The weyrbowl really wasn't so much as a weyrbowl as much as it was an overly large chamber that had been created by connection many smaller ones. Multiple entrances to the outside world allowed for light to filter in quite clearly. The salty water from the lake outside lapped into the weyrbowl through some of the entrances, creating the lake that coiled across the surface of the weyrbowl, disappearing down one tunnel into the deeper recesses of the caves.

It was here that Helitet seemed to spend a lot of her free time at. It wasn't that uncommon, it was either that or wander through the tunnels. With a Weyr like this, there were always tunnels after all. But with a Weyr like this, getting loss was more than just a possibility.
Besides, the weyrbowl was a place to look for company. All sorts of people came here, drudges, healers, and riders. Meeting new people was simply more likely at the weyrbowl.

But what caught the near mute candidate's attention wasn't anything new. It was a familiar face that caused the corners of her lips to tug upwards slightly. There was a tap upon her companion's arm. He was a large man, reddish hair and those light brown eyes and tan complexion, verily different from Helitet herself. He also seemed to be the quiet sort, slouched over as he made his way across the weyrbowl. Quite different from the dragon that was hopping, quite literally hopping, all around them. A forest green in hue, the dragon seemed to be the complete opposite of her rider. Filled with energy, she was bounding here and there, looking very much like a child who had ingested too much sugar. She was a slender thing too, tiny really, even for a Green.

Still, just what was Helitet doing with this man? Well, it didn’t seem to matter, because she had left his side, heading towards Kyrri and making a gesture that she had showed her fellow candidate as a greeting. There was a grin across her features as she continued the signals and while Kyrri might not have known all of them, there were a few ones there that should make everything obvious enough as it was. Things like ‘brother’ and ‘getting’ and ‘know’.
So she was getting to know her brother. One that she hadn’t managed to before this simply because he had been gone before she had a chance properly meet him. If at all that was.

She took a seat upon the ground next to Kyrri then, continuing to move her hands, asking just how Kyrri’s day was.

Turning to look in the direction of the person approaching, Kyrri was quite pleased to see that it was Helitet who was headed her way. Funny the way things like that worked out. Grinning broadly, the candidate twisted around so that she was facing Helitet more and waved an energetic hello. She hadn't really expected to run into anyone she knew down here, but that only made her that much more excited. It had been a few days since she had had the chance to talk with Helitet. She wasn't complaining about an opportunity to do so now.

Carefully Kyrri followed the flow of gestures that Helitet spilled as she made her way over. Some of them confused Kyrri, but she recognized a few of them from the last time they had talked. The first one was familiar, but it took her a minute of confusion clouded eyes and raking her memory to remember fully what it meant. The other two she had no problem with. "brother", "getting", "know". The meaning took a moment to sink in, she was new at this afterall, but once she got it, she finally noticed the ma and the bouncing green dragon Helitet had left behind.

In the surprise of seeing her friend here, Kyrri had somehow managed to miss noticing the dragon and rider. This was quite the feat, as the green was bwing quite noticable with the way she bounced around the bowl. It was definitely a sight to see. She seemed like such an excited creature. Watching her, Kyrri just couldn't help but laugh. She had never seen such an energetic dragon of any color before. And then the man. He was interesting. Stocky, for one, with red colored hair and an apparent slouch. There didn't appear to be anyone else around, so Kyrri assumed this was who Helitet meant when she had said brother. Kyrri was beginning to realize that her friend had quite the extensive family compared to hers.

Looking back to Helitet, Kyrri gestured in the man's direction?
"Is that you're brother?" she asked, before laughing and beginning a light recounting if her day, going into detail with the part about getting lost once again in the various tunnels that made up the weyr. She was beginning to wonder if she would ever stop getting lost here.

Helitet watched was Kyrri picked up on what she signed, grinning at her friend. She also watched as Kyrri watched her brother and his dragon. Not that she blamed her. Helitet was well aware of just how different B’net was compared to her and how different his Green was compared to Cernt’s, and very much different from Xierth.
The Green had enough energy to run the Weyr, or so B’net had told her once. Looking at Selith, it wasn’t really that hard to believe it. The Green woke up active, and then went to bed active. She nodded at Kyrri’s question, confirming that, yes, B’net was another one of her siblings. She then listened to her friend going on about her day, smiling at the fact that Kyrri had managed to get herself lost yet again in the Weyr. Mind, this place was a large one, and a new one at that, but it seemed that her fellow candidate has the worse sense of direction she’s seen yet.

She made a few gestures with her hand, still smiling at Kyrri. She was going to visit the sands after this, probably with her brother. She asked if Kyrri wanted to come, if nothing else but to take note of just how different the hatching sands were in this Weyr. She had only been there for a short while, but the sands were different. A deep gray and blue in color rather than the light browns that they usually found in the sand.

The last part might have been a little confusing for Kyrri, and Helitet stopped. She knew that her friend knew the word ‘sand’, but she hadn’t exactly started teaching her about colors just yet. So instead, Helitet grinned sheepish and merely repeated the question as to if Kyrri wanted to join them to the trip to the sands instead.
She didn’t mean to get carried away mind, she was just excited, and it was really in a nature to be ‘vocal’ with her friends. Or at least, her version of being vocal.

Kyrri glanced back at the man and his green after Helitet's response, trying to find a similarity in their looks. She knew that just because someone was related to someone else didn't mean that they would have to look anything alike, necessarily. Still, it was interesting to see the variety one could get with their parents. It was interesting that Helitet had so many rider siblings though. It made her wonder if there was ever the possibility that her oldest brother Borsik might have ever been searched, or even impressed. Kyrri had never cared for him much, so she was glad that he hadn't. Putting up with him was enough, but putting up with him and a dragon... she just wasn't too sure about that.

Kyrri grinned stupidly at Helitet after she finished her recount of getting lost. Her friend probably thought it was a wonder she wasn't still wandering around lost down there. It was true, she did get lost a lot here. The fact surprised even her, but there wasn't much she could do. She wasn't exactly familiar with the setup of a normal weyr. This one was far stranger from what she heard other people saying, and she believed them with all the systems of tunnels she had managed to accidentally explore. But she loved it here all the same. With time she was sure she would develop a sense of direction in the tunnels. She couldn't possibly get lost forever.

The candidate trained her gaze on Helitet's hands. She caught a few of the signs, but Helitet kept going and Kyrri was lost quickly. Laughing a bit embarrassed, she tapped her friend on the should, reminding her that she had only been taught so many gestures. But one thing she did get was that she was going to go to see the sands with her brother. Eyes wide, Kyrri nodded quickly.
"You wouldn't mind if I tagged along?" The girl asked, glancing back at her brother again. Would he mind?"
"But... Aren't there eggs on the sands? And aren't queen dragons usually... well, protective of their eggs?" Kyrri was constantly being reminded of how little she knew.

It won't be like that for lng though. She thought. Just like the whole 'getting lost' thing. I'll learn soon enough. I'm learning more all the time. I'm sure I'm not the only one that's ever been new to a weyr before.

"I would love to go with you if it's alright." Kyrri nodded confidently, smiling at Helitet once more.

Helitet was still grinning rather sheepishly at that point. Still, she was nodded at the first question, then smiled at the second. She looked back at B’net, shaking her head in his direction. No, not him. G’tet. She was about to make a sign when she stopped, realizing that it was probably going to be difficult to explain just which ones of her brothers she was talking about. With three of them in this Weyr, it was going to be a tad bit difficult.
G’tet wouldn’t mind though, he was simply just checking on the eggs. As for the queen… Hetliet smiled at Kyrri, nodding her head. Yes, there were eggs there. And she made a gesture with her hand that would mean gold, prodding Kyrri on her side to indicate that she should remember that sign. Then she continued on, signing that it was alright as long as they didn’t get too close to the eggs.

Though perhaps, all that Kyrri could make out of that sentence was ‘alright’, ‘not’, ‘close’ and ‘egg’. Still it should get the message through she supposed.
The near mute candidate smiled almost gently at Kyrri, nodding her head again. Of course it was alright. She would be glad if Kyrri came with them actually. She started moving her hands again, seeming to have forgotten that her friend probably didn’t understand just what she was saying anymore at this point. Well, nothing other than ‘I’ and ‘you’ anyways. Still, Helitet admitted to being nervous about the entire thing, and how glad she was that Kyrri was coming along with her because even though her brother was there, she was still happy for the companionship. Besides, he was already a rider, and she had needed somebody who was going through the same thing as she was at the moment rather than Turns ago…
And she cut herself off, grinning sheepishly again.

Well, all that was left was to wait for G’tet she supposed. But even then, she was eager to talk to Kyrri. So instead, she leaned back, gesturing towards the hopping Selith, arching an eyebrow at her fellow candidate and making two signs with her hand that pretty much said ‘hyper Green’.

"Not... Him? Helitet, your brothers confuse me!" Kyrri complained, fully teasing of course. She shook her head, smiling. "Ok then, who would be taking us then?" The question came out before she had the time to realize how difficult it would be to answer. She couldn't even describe their dragons to her, because Helitet hadn't yet taught her colors. Maybe that had been a bad thing to skip over, she was beginning to think. Knowing at least the range of colors for dragons would be helpful now, if nothing else. She would be sure to suggest that next time Helitet taught her more signs.

Kyrri beamed, unable to contain herself at the thought of seeing the eggs though. And the gold dragon as well. At her friend's prodding, she took a closer look at the gesture she was making, trying to copy it herself in hopes that doing so would help her remember. She wasn't entirely sure what it meant, but she was fairly certain it pretained to what they were talking about. After a second, she nodded with satisfaction. Yes, she had it now.

Helitet's assurance pleased Kyrri a lot. If she said they would be fine, she would believe her. The broken sentences she was picking up were enough to get the message through, and she had to admit it was kind of fun learning the ways that her friend communicated. But just like that, Helitet went off in a flurry of gestures and she was lost. Still, she watched until her friend finished, a look of confusion written plainly across her face, before laughing.
"Uhh... Yes?" She responded, mostly in joke because she really hadn't a clue what Helitet had just said. She shook her head, laughing. "Come on now, be nice! I'm new at that!." She said, poking Helitet on the arm.

Following Helitet's gesture back toward the green again, Kyrri giggled.
"So you've got another greenrider brother, eh? She looks absolutely charming." She laughed, watching the green. "He doesn't seem much like Cernt from what I can tell. Or G'tet I guess, but I can't really be sure. What is he like?" Kyrri nodded in her brother's direction.

Helitet pouted at Kyrri. It wasn’t her fault that she had so many brothers and only one sister. Of all her siblings that she was aware of that is. There were probably a lot more somewhere out there, not all of them in Southern Hold. And maybe more of them in there that they simply weren’t aware were related at all. Their father got around a lot, and sometimes, their mothers had children with other men as well.

It made family matters entirely complicated, but that was just the way things were. Just as how Melin in Southern Weyr was her sister, though they weren’t at all related by blood even by the slightest.

She continued pouting as Kyrri poked her, swatting half-heartedly at her fellow candidate’s arm. She shrugged then at the comments about B’net. She didn’t know that particular brother very well as it were. But there were some things that she’s can easily pick up. He was a hard working man, and… over all…
She made a gesture that indicated at silence, one that she was sure Kyrri knew. Seeing as how she had used it a few times before.

Then she picked up slightly, eyes fixing upon the point beyond Kyrri’s shoulder. So silently the large dragon moved, especially for a large dragon, he was right over the two candidates before Kyrri had even noticed and right after Helitet had done so. He breathed down Kyrri’s neck, his swirling eyes watching them both. The not Bronze Brown blinked lazily at them while G’tet slid from his neck, patting his leg.

Silent... So they did have something in common. It wasn't exactly the kind of similarity Kyrri would have expected, but it was something. What an odd pair. A man who didn't say much and a dragon who looked like she never CEASED to have something to say. It made the girl wonder whther or not this newly-found brother of Helitet's spoke with his dragon a lot or if he was just quiet with everyone and everything. She had to admit, that green sure looked like she would make it hard to ignore her. And that thought caused Kyrri to giggle.

Turning to apologize to her friend, Kyrri had happened to completely miss the great dragon and his rider behind them. She hadn't even noticed the slight chnge in Helitet's expression until it was painfully obvious something had happened, though she would have been much happier if she had.

Without warning, Kyrri was assaulted by a stream of warn air down the back of her neck. Completely startled, the girl barely managed to stiffle a squeal as she spun around with impressive speed. What she saw was far less than scary however. It took a moment to register, but as soon as she realized that it was Xierth behind her Kyrri began beaming again. Jumping up, the girl waved happily at the new arrivals before turning to see just what Helitet was up to.

"Afternoon G'tet! You and Xierth just about scared me out of my skin!." she exclaimed, waiting for G'tet to finish his dismount.

Helitet was a little amused, and a little guilty about feeling that, when Kyrri reacted as so to Xierth’s sudden appearance. It wasn’t as if the near mute candidate could blame her friend. Even after such a short time, she’s learnt that the large Brown was an extremely silent dragon.
And as if to enforce that fact, G’tet nodded in an almost apology towards Kyrri, “Yes well… this sharding wherryhide can move more quietly than even I can, and there’s something wrong with that image there.”

Xierth merely watched them in a mildly amused manner before he shifted his weight slightly, turning his head towards the entrance to the first hatching sands that they had in the Weyr linked to the Weyrbowl. The entrance was large enough for even a Gold to fit through, but no larger than that. G’tet nodded in response, turning to the two girls, “So… I take it Helitet invited you along?”
His almost lazy tone indicated on just how well he know his sister, and Helitet stuck her tongue out at him before grinning at Kyrri. G’tet merely rolled his eyes, “Right you dimglow… right… You two ready to go then? Supparith doesn’t mind us much, as long as we don’t wander too close to the eggs. She’s a protective mother, but I need to check the temperature of the sands and other such to see if we need to start up the furnace for her or not. Felin mentioned something last night and I want to double check.”

It was Helitet’s turn to roll her eyes again. Trust G’tet to worry over such things. Still, that was her brother for you. She loved him mind, but there were times when he just got a little too dutiful for her. Instead, she made a few hand gestures at him that caused him to raise an eyebrow, “No… I’m not that overbearing. Just… catious.”

Leaning toward the great nose of Xierth, a look of half teasing/half annoyed look crossed Kyrri's face face.
"A little warning next time would be nice, Xierth." Then a wide smile showed just how happy she was to see them. Even though Helitet had said she was going to the sands with her brother, she hadn't expected the pair to show up so soon. Still, she was overly extactic to be allowed to go with them.

Kyrri's head bobbed excitedly as she nodded.
"Mhmm, Helitet said it would be alright... You don't mind, do you?" she asked, eyes darting now from the form of Xierth to his rider, then down to Helitet beside her and back again. When G'tet said something about going, it was almost too hard for her to contain her excitement. She was almost bouncing now. Then, almost as a side thought, something struck her.

Turning to Helitet, Kyrri pointed up to Xierth.
"You wouldn't happen to have some special sign for them, would you?" She asked. In all honesty, Kyrri hadn't been sure which brother she would be accompanying until a few moments before when these two had appeared, though if she had thought about it she probably could have guessed. She figured if ever there was a time to learn what she used to indicate G'tet or Xierth, now was likely the best. At least that way she would be able to narrow it down a little next time Helitet started talking about one of her brothers.

The large Brown merely blinked, almost innocently, at Kyrri, shifting his weight slightly and arching his neck to bring his head so that he was watching the entrance to the hatching sands. G’tet merely laughed slightly, “This Wherryhead won’t be giving any warnings at all. Isn’t that right?”
The rider patted his dragon’s leg before nodding at Kyrri, “No, I don’t mind at all. Supparith should be fine with it, I think… As long as we don’t get too close to the eggs. She just clutched after all, so she’s overly protective.”
He frowned slightly, “Not that I blame her. The clutch... isn’t in the best of health.” He nodded slightly before grinning at Kyrri. He made a gesture with his hands then, “This… means Brown.” He made another one that mirrored the one that Helitet had Kyrri learned just now, “And this is Gold.” Another sign as he drawled out, “And that means Green.”

Helitet grinned almost sheepishly at him and then Kyrri, wrapping her arm about her fellow candidate’s wrist lightly. Fingertips dragged across Kyrri's skin before wrapping about sleeves and tugging softly. G'tet rolled his eyes then, "Yes, yes. We'll get going..."

He turned upon his heel, striding towards the directions of the first hatching chamber, the largest one in this Weyr. As he walked, he made another gesture for Kyrri, "And this is Blue."

Laughing softly at Xierth, Kyrri shook her head. Maybe it was just her imagination, but it seemed that in being so quiet, that dragon could say so much. In getting to know Helitet and her brothers, Kyrri was learning a lot. For a girl who had had so few friends growing up, Kyrri was glad that she had met Helitet when she had.
"Is that right? I guess I'll just have to learn to pay extra attention to my surroundings whenever I happen to be someplace I know you can find me then." the girl joked. She stuck her tongue out teasingly at Xierth then, a look of feigned annoyance mingled with teasing laughter on her face.

As much as Kyrri was looking forward to standing at the hatching, and as much as she wanted to get as close to the eggs as possible, she had absolutely no intention of getting too close. She knew that people weren't supposed to get near them before the hatching, and Kyrri had heard how scary a protective gold dragon could be of her eggs. Her face fell into a frown at the news of the health of the clutch. It would be such a tragedy to lose the eggs. Kyrri would never want to see that happen, though with the things she had heard about the Timers, she supposed it wouldn't be surprising if something had happened to the eggs.

But then G'tet grinned and began showing her more gestures, and those depressing thoughts left her mind. Just as she had done with all the other ones that Helitet had shown her, Kyrri copied G'tet as he showed her each gesture, repeating its meaning a few times mentally to ensure that it would stick. The colors of the dragons would be helpful to know.

Kyrri grinned widely at her friend as soon as G'tet turned to leave for the hatching sands. The question of whether or not Helitet had done this before crossed her mind, but she didn't ask. Instead, Kyrri tugged gently on Helitet's sleeve, beaming with all her excitement as she started off after G'tet.

The large Brown did seem to be able to say a lot without a word. He scrunched up the top of his snout as if mocking Kyrri’s words, then huffed and spread his wings. There was nowhere safe from him outside of the tunnels, which meant that Kyrri would always be on the watch for shadows that might be him. Lowering his head again though, he nudged her, indicating that he was done teasing, and then lumbered towards the sands himself.

Helitet meanwhile, giggled soundlessly, following after her friend without hesitation. G’tet had shown her the sands once before, but there hadn’t been a clutch there at that time. Interesting enough that the Queen had just clutched this morning after all. She watched as Kyrri practiced the signs, taking note in her mind that it was probably going to be easier for Cernt or G’tet to teach her friend what each one meant. G’tet, more likely, because Cernt has an additude that made people want to hit him at most times. Though honestly, she had no idea why he kept that side of him out for the general public. Then again, if the general public knew of the man who used to protect her… well, their view of him would be quiet different then.

As they neared the entrance of the sands, Xierth seemed to have tensed over slightly, lowering his head as his eyes swirled a soft hue of agitation. G’tet scowled for a moment before patting the Brown upon his snout, “You sure it’s that bad?”
The Brown snuffed slightly, indicating that, yes, he did think it was that bad.

Kyrri, for once allowing herself to act very childish, scrunched up her own face at Xierth as the great dragon teased her. She was a little surprised when he nudged her, but she giggled all the more. She did greatly enjoy bonding - could it be called that? - with the dragons. Especially Xierth, as she seemed to be meeting up with him most often. Even as expressive as he was though, Kyrri still wondered what it was like to communicate mentally with them. Maybe she would get to know. She definitely hoped so.

Laughing with joy, Kyrri placed a hand gently on Xierth's nose then, patting him softly a few times before he started off toward the sands.
"Believe me Xierth, I'm keeping my eye out for you from now on!" She called, not wasting a moment as she followed after him. Her mind raced with thoughts of dragon eggs and gold dragons. This would be fascinating. She had never been this close to anything like it before. Gold firelizards, sure. She had seen a few in her traveling. But as closely related as they were, a gold firelizard and a gold dragon were very different.

The girl was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she barely noticed Xierth's change of composure. In fact, she had practically walked into them. Stopping, she studdied the brown and his rider for a moment. Something must be wrong... Still, she didn't know what it was. She looked over to Helitet to see if maybe her friend had any idea what was going on. Confused, Kyrri chewed at her lip a moment before saying anything.
"I-is something wrong? Did something happen to the queen or the clutch?" Concern laced Kyrri's words as she spoke.

Helitet seemed rather amused, watching Kyrri. Or at least, she had seemed amused. She seemed to pick up rather quickly on Xierth’s somber mood however, and listening to G’tet, the Gold’s rather bad one as well. She remained silent as her brother spoke, answering Kyrri’s question.
“No,” G’tet was muttering, patting his Brown’s nose again, “No. The Queen’s just in a bad mood, nothing news happened to the clutch that hasn’t already happened.”

There was a furrowing of his brows before he shook his head, “Well then… should we proceed them oh large lump of uselessly one?” Xierth huffed at him before shimmering through the entrance to the hatching chamber, taking note of the odd blue gray sand of the sands rather than the normal yellows and browns. Curled there in the middle of the large chamber, the Gold Supparith barely moved, fixing an irritated eye upon the ‘intruders’. As G’tet stepped in, the sound of sand shifting beneath his boots, the heat seeping through to his feet. He noticed that the Weyrwoman was right with her Gold, sitting upon the large dragon’s back and looking all together too tired and worried.

There was never any need to try to read Felin, as G’tet found out very easily. The Weyrwoman showed all her emotions quite easily, though the reasons behind them were kept to herself. Xierth moved slightly, shifting his weight and edging carefully about Supparith as he came closer. The Gold didn’t react, merely glaring at him while she remained curled about her clutch. The Brown huffed then, reaching over and gripping something with his teeth and pulling it away from the Gold.

A piece of shell from a broken egg, and with that in his mouth, the Brown lumbered off to dispose of it. G’tet was scowling now, “I suppose the big lump was right. The Gold is in a rather bad mood isn’t she? She’s not even cleaning up herself.”
Helitet said nothing, didn’t attempt to say anything. Instead, she tugged lightly upon Kyrri’s sleeve, stuck between awe for the large Gold in front of them and a sadness of the broken shells of what seemed to be around four to five eggs.

Kyrri had to wonder just what G'tet meant by 'hadn't already happened'. Did he mean that nothing new had happened to the gold and her eggs, or did he mean that what had happened since his last visit was the same as what had happened before? She hoped desperately that it was the former rather than the latter, for many reasons among the obvious. She wouldn't lie, either, at least not to her friends. After how Xierth had reacted only moments before, the girl had some serious second thoughts about whether or not it was a good idea to go on with them. But if G'tet still thought it was ok, she supposed she couldn't pass up the opportunity.

As soon as Kyrri was through the entrance, she was completely stunned. The first thing that attracted her gaze was the massive golden dragon on the sands. She had never been so close to a queen before, and she was just magnificent. Kyrri found herself staring in awe for several moments before Xierth caught her attention again as he began cleaning up the shells on the sand. There were quite a few of them. She knew that G'tet had said that they had lost a few of the eggs, but it seemed a different reality now that she was looking at it. No wonder the Queen was so angry.

Kyrri stood there as silently as Helitet was. There wasn't really much she could say. Nothing productive at least. She felt completely awed at the whole situation. Not too long ago this would have all been nothing more than a crazy dream. There was still an element of excitement in this being her first time on the sands, first time seeing the eggs or the Queen, first time doing a lot of things, despite the overlying sadness of the conditions. Seeing it all brought a new finality to the thought that she was actually here. She looked to Helitet and then to G'tet, wondering whether she should say something or just remain quietly in the background where she was.

Helitet was making a few signs now with her hands, watching as Xierth moved slowly, as if not to agitate the rather still Queen. The Brown slowly cleaned the sands of the shells, and G’tet shrugged slightly. He didn’t know the answer to her question either. So he turned his attention to the Weyrwoman instead, clearing this throat.

Felin looked down at them from her dragon’s back, knowing that they were already there but not really in the modd to deal with them. Her eyes narrowed at the group before she spoke, her tone rather sharp. Her large Gold wasn’t the only one irritated at the moment it seems, though one can hardly blame either of them. “Is there something that you need?” she grumbled, and G’tet seemed to shrug slightly. The Brownrider gestured around the Weyrbowl before turning his head slightly to the side.

“Where is the Weyrleader?” he spoke in a calm tone, if not overly formal. The Weyrwoman shrugged, “Construction. His Brown as well. Supparith won’t listen to that logic though.”
G’tet nodded in understanding. It would help to explain the Queen’s bad mood. The sire of her clutch wasn’t even present, though he couldn’t blame the Weyrleader and Bronze. There were duties to be taking care of after all. There were few who would be able to do much else when caught in a situation like this.

Helitet shook her head, returning her attention back to Kyrri, tugging slightly upon her friend’s sleeve and urging Kyrri to edge slightly to the side with her. She slid slowly and softly to a spot where she could see the eggs peeking out from the Gold’s protective curl, mostly buried by the heated sands to keep them warm now. There was a smile that tugged upon the ends of her lips then, because, while it was a sad occasion to loose those eggs, here was proof that there was still a clutch. She made a gesture with her hands then, asking Kyrri just how many eggs did her fellow candidate think was in there.

Upon hearing the weyrwoman speak, Kyrri couldn't help but cringe a little. She hadn't met the woman before, so she had no idea whether her attitude was normal or the result of all the stress she was under. And shards how much stress the poor weyrwoman must be under now! She was the sole woman at the head of beginning this new weyr in a place where conditions were against them a good percentage of the time and no weyr had been set up before. Her gold had just clutched not that long ago, and had lost a few of the eggs. The weyrleader and his were scare here, and on top of all of it, the pair had been one of those that had come over from that other place, the reality where things were different and thread no longer existed. Kyrri would be surprised if the pair wasn't feeling the effects of it all by now. That thought coupled with the look she was giving them almost made Kyrri feel a little guilty. Not that the candidate had any reason to feel that way, she just felt like maybe her being at Galvalin was just one more person Felin would have to worry about.

Kyrri stood there, feeling a little awkward and out of place as G'tet had his exchange with Felin and Xierth continued cleaning up the sands. It was hard to keep the thought that maybe it really had been a bad idea to come here so soon out of her mind, but she couldn't seny that it was fantastic in some ways. The girl was lost in her thoughts enough that she almost jumped when Helitet tugged on her sleeve.

Looking up, she saw that her friend was trying to get her to move over with her a bit. Curious as to why, Kyrri complied. She was glad she had, too. From her new place in the chamber, Kyrri could see around the gold enough to see some of the still-surviving eggs. Her breath caught a moment as she saw plainly some of the eggs that would hopefully hatch into dragonets in not that long a time. Her face lit up as she made an attempt to answer Helitet's question. The girl counted a few, but she wasn't sure. Ten maybe? Twenty? She felt it was probably somewhere between those numbers though she couldn't quite be sure. She shook her head and looked questioningly back at Helitet.

It was hard to believe what had happened, it couldn't have been long since she'd come into the hatching sands area and got herself nicely settled to start sketching in quiet, and then Beauty had vanished from where she'd been curled up beside her. That had warned her something was up, and givin her barely enough time to gather herself. And then that form had filled the entrance, it took only a few moments once she saw who was there to realize what must be going on. As quickly and quietly as she could she had moved to a corner that was well hidden in shadows.

Who knew how many candlemarks had passed since that moment. She'd silently observed, unable to help herself. Soon enough she was sketching random moments that stuck out to her. It had been the only way to keep the worry away, after all she had no clue what would happen if a Queen had found she was being observed when she was clutching. And not only that but sketched, not a one was finished or fleshed out fully. Nor would they be until later, and those particular sketches wouldn't be seen by anyone else. At least not most, perhaps one or two of the after, when she was moving about the eggs, the look that had seemed to be there as she disposed of a few of those eggs.

Enough time had passed, and it seemed a good moment to sneak out of here before the risk got even worse. Wincing in silence while pushing upwards to her feet. Already everything had been tucked away, pencil's, her sketchbook that was now full of images that she'd never even thought of. Making her way quietly towards that entrance and exit way, just enough attention on the others who had shown up to try and avoid them as well. Not sure who she was more afraid of, the Queen, her Rider, or their significant others. Heck the thought of the four of them pissed at her scared her something fierce. She'd enjoyed being able to stay at the Wyer while things in the hold were still being set up and they had no room for her. Immortalizing various riders and dragons in unexpected moments....

G'tet shifted his weight slightly, a somewhat hesitant look across his features. Felin seemed to have noticed, staring at the Brownrider intently, as if trying to read him. Meanwhile however, Helitet was watching the eggs, the near mute candidate imprinting the image of the Gold wrapped about her buried clutch in her mind. There was a movement cross the corner of her eyes however, and she turned her head slightly, her eyebrows going upwards slightly as she tugged upon Kyrri's sleeve now.

Meanwhile, G'tet sighed, shifting his weight from one foot to another. As if things weren't bad enough at the moment. He took a deep breath, releasing it with a sigh before he started speaking. "We got a message," he drawled out. Felin stared even more. He shrugged slightly, "Benden is sending another Gold."

Then Supparith was moving, her head pushing straight into his face, her breath heated and harsh against his face. From her back, Felin's voice was tensed, a shimmering fury beneath it that matched her dragon's.
"What?"
"They seem to think we need supervision to make sure we're doing things right," G'tet continued, doing his best to ignore the furious Queen now huffing in his face. Supparith had moved her head now, seeming to be talking to her rider. Felin reached over, patting her on the snout before the Gold moved back to curl around her eggs, now in an even worse mood.

Looking at anywhere else but the Weyrwoman and her Gold, that was when G'tet noticed Helitet's stillness. And following her line of sight, saw what caused it. There was a clearing of his throat then, "We have somebody else in here it seems."
"Are you all here to gawk?" Felin's tone was sharp. It only lasted a moment though as she sighed, "Right... right... Look. Just what are you doing here?"
The question was directed at at the one trying to sneak out now. It was clear that the Wyerwoman was tensed. Tensed and tired.

Kyrri was more or less lost to the world around her at that moment in time. She was far too entranced by the scene before her, angry queen dragon or not. If it hadn't been for Helitet's tug on her sleeve, she might have stood there forever, completely unaware of the conversation G'tet and the weyrwoman were having. SHaking herself from the sight, the small candidate tunred to look in the direction Helitet was indicating. She stopped, inhaling a bit sharply then. It seemed that they hadn't been alone here.

Her attention was jerked quickly back to the dragons however, as G'tet had apparently said something to upset them. The gold was now in his face, obviously angry. Another gold huh? Well that would get any weyrleading dragon into a bad mood she supposed. But then again, she couldn't really blame Benden for wanting to keep an eye on Galvalin. It was definitely an odd weyr, to be sure. Kyrri was about to speak up, but thought better of it. Instead, she looked back to Helitet, and then back into the shadows where their as-of-yet unidentified guest.

The weyrwoman's tone scared Kyrri. The candidate jumped, terrified of getting hurt or getting into trouble. She couldn't deny that she was curious too. Just who was this mystery person. How long had they been here? It seemed a little strange to her, but then again she was here too. The only difference was that she had come in with a rider rather than sneaking in.
