Wouldst that thou would scrub harder, mayhap the itch would be relieved. Amusement whirled in the brown's eyes as Gawaith turned his head to watch Wyl with laugher echoing in the brass tones of his voice. Though Wyl had been listening to that voice for turns, it never ceased to send a warm feeling to spread throughout his body, warmth that told him the bond was still there even if the sense of love wasn't as strong as that first moment when their eyes had met. Two children finding each other, both of them not realising how incomplete they had been before finding the other piece that completed the puzzle. Gawaith, since then, had been a constant sense of support, love and even honour. While he'd been respectful and charming before Impression, afterwards, there was a notable change in behaviour. His words were softer, there was more care in the way he treated women, and his hyper-sensitivity about touch was only heightened to the point that Wyl rarely touched a person without meaning every possible gesture taken from the one. But, there were still times that Wyl would roll his eyes and ignore the brown's diplomatic way of speech, and that day was one of them. Gawaith never grew annoyed, never showed any sign of anger aside from a twitch of his tail, but merely repeated his request in the same soft, easy voice that had always rung with old-speak. Why, Wyl didn't know, he had no idea why the brown's way of talking was different to any other dragon he'd ever met, but he wouldn't change it for a thing. "Just stand still, Gawaith, I'm nearly done." Infact, they'd been at the lake already for hours as Wyl scrubbed the brown clean, and now focused on the paler marking along his nose and above his eyes. The cross was another thing that confused the shards out of him too, he'd never seen another marking quite so clear. The days were getting cooler, but Wyl had still chosen to leave the majority of his clothing at the edge of the pool - further away than he would have liked - and swum only in a pair of short trousers that would at least survive any bullying Gawaith put him through. His wher-hide jacket might not survive in the same way. That feels much better, WylMine. Crooning in sheer pleasure, the first lids closed over Gawaith's whirling eyes, and Wyl laughed. He knew for a fact that Gawaith would not be this comfortable if there were others there, especially females. He'd be demanding that Wyl put his clothes on and apologise while he attempted to squeeze into the smallest amount of water he could, leaving a large area for the female. Courtesy was one of Gawaith's strongest aspects and it amused Wyl to no end that when it came to his mate, Gawaith had gone from being a strong, imposing figure, to being practically purring with enjoyment at her company. Silly creature. "Ah, there. Isn't that better, my love?" grinning as the dragon shook the water off, Wyl waded back to the edge of the pool, grabbing his towel from the bank and scrubbing it over his hair as he stepped out of the water while Gawaith happily soaked. yes, my thanks. |
