Out of all ten Timers, the two dragons most known were Supparith and Wendelth. Their riders as well, after all, they were the Weyrleaders of the new Galvalin after all. As for the other eight however, they were here and there, somewhere in the background seeming to keep to themselves mostly. Though that's not really true. It's simply that they didn't stand out as much was all. After all, larger dragons or not, they were still just dragons and riders and things weren't really that different from there to here. Within the council chamers, Felin buried her face in her hands, a tired and rather haggard appearance about her. Not hard to see why. The clutch had been laid yes, but Supparith had been in a horrid mood ever since then. The news of a new transfer hanging over their heads. Usually, transfers weren't this troublesome. It was the sheer fact that Benden was sending another Gold into Galvalin. Not just any Gold either, an older Gold to watch over the happenings of the new Weyr. There was no doubt that plenty of things will happen when said Gold arrives. In fact, even without the actual presence of the older rider, Felin was already starting to feel the pressure of it all pressing down upon her shoulders. What made her think that she was suited for running a Weyr in the first place anyways? Because you are capable. You know how to think and you know how to lead and you will not be pressured or bribed into something that is not your own decision. Supparith's voice rolled in her mind, and finally, after all these days, there was a tinge of amusement in her next statement, And you question every single thing including your own decisions. You're in a better mood, Felin supplied to her Gold. Supparith mere gave a mental version of a shrug as the Gold spoke softly now. I have been speaking to the danger trio again. and there was no doubt about it now, there was a hint of amusement within the Gold's voice. The trio... well. That explained a lot. Roneth, Areth and Jevenoth. A Bronze, Brown and Blue. All three colors of the male spectrum right there who made up just as her Supparith had called them. The danger trio. Really, it was no wonder that her Gold called them that. It was dangerous to any dragon's goals to talk to those three, because if there's any who can persuade anybody into or out of anything, it's those three. Roneth was slow in terms of speech, but there was that calm and logical way of the Bronze's logic that nobody can really deny. Areth was flirty, but he was also all together quite charming to any gender of dragon really. As for Jevenoth, Jevenoth was that perfect blend of a gentleman in a dragon with that utterly honest way of his. All three dragons were fearsome on their own, add them together and it's no wonder that Supparith's sulking mood had no chance. Felin grimaced slightly however as she sat back into her seat, staring at the council chambers around her. One of said dragon's riders was right there too, seated in the corner, reading over a scroll. T'gloir, was quite different from his dragon, yet all together very similar. It was easy to trust the man to a larger extent than Felin did most people. He was quite upfront with people. Always cheerful, you knew when he was displeased or angered very easily and there was nothing fake about his friendliness either. His younger sister was the rider of the second trio as well. V'tor, Felin knew personally. The Brownrider was one of those few people who Felin trusted in a close manner. V'tor was, in the end, quite similar to Areth. Flirty and teasing, somehow V'tor knew just when it was possible to push Felin's buttons and when it wasn't. It was... one of her few friendships really. As for the third trio... The Wyerwoman had to resist grimacing at the sheer thought of the Bluerider. It wasn't that Felin didn't like Lihana, not really. Felin just couldn't stand being near the Bluerider for too long. Lihana had a way of making her feel as though she was in far too much danger while being safe at the same time. Lihana had a way that Felin knew she could all too easily become far too dependent upon, and that was not something that was healthy of either of them. The Bluerider was somebody Felin both respected and feared really. Her light pressure upon her shoulder and Felin tensed over, but she didn't push the person away and felt no urge to. Still, the touch was removed just as quickly and Felin knew who it was. Only two people could touch her without her reacting in a semi-violent manner. And one was G'fish. The other was said Bluerider. She turned her head slightly to see the Bluerider shaking her head as if asking just what she was doing in here. Felin sighed, gesturing at a seat nearby which Lihana took, following her instructions to a letter. The Goldrider sighed, rubbing her head. It seemed that Supparith didn't just talk to the trio, she had asked Lihana to come along as well. Honestly, she had no idea why the Gold trusted Lihana to protect her so much... No, cross that, she did. The memory of a man being held up against a wall with a rather fearsome Bluerider telling him that he would never have children again if he ever came near the Goldrider again flashed in her head. Shaking it off, she eyed the rest of the chamber again. It wasn't that surprising then, that Supparith would want Lihana here for when they first meet pretty much all the Wingleaders and seconds for the first time. Especially since G'fish isn't here at the moment. The Weyrleader had been so busy lately after all, with the building of Galvalin still going on. Sitting back, she waited for the rest to show up. |

Nervous. That was probably the first word one would use to describe N'kar at the moment. But could anyone blame him? This would be his first time meeting most of the other leaders of the weyr. He was rather reluctant to go, not being overly fond of the idea of meeting so many new people all at once, especially since Rhiunth wouldn't be there, but it was a responsibility of his as wingsecond under the Weyrleader. He checked himself over one last time, making sure he was properly prepared for this. He was a wreck. No, he wasn't. He was fine. He felt like a wreck, but he would be fine. Rhiunth assured him of that several times over. His dragon had so much faith in him, sometimes he wished he could be just as sure himself. 'N'kar Mine, stop worrying so much. It will be fine. These are fellow wingleaders and wingseconds, like yourself. You shouldn't expect such bad things to happen.' There he went again. Rhiunth was almost annoyingly suppotive sometimes. Still, N'kar was glad the beast was there for him. I know, Rhiunth, thank you. You know how I am though. Rhiunth snorted softly at his rider. 'You are not always. Think of Lilly. You enjoyed your time with her.' The dragon's comment almost made the man blush himself, which didn't happen often. Rhiunth found that hilarious, earning him a glare from his rider. At last the pair had reached the last point that they could travel together. Rhiunth nosed N'kar forward and watched him go before leaving himself to go find a place to wait. N'kar continued on alone, several minutes before eventually makingit to the council chamber. Slowly, he entered the room. When he enter, the wingsecond first saw the weyrwoman looking rather tired in her chair. Before he had much time to do anything though, his eyes fell on the figure beside her. The light here was better, but he still recognized her. It was the bluerider, Lihana, from the tunnels. There went all the confidence he had worked up... 'N'kar, I am here, you're fine.' Rhiunth sensed his rider's sudden discomfort and did his best to help out. N'kar thanked him and went on. He bowed his head to the few gathered there already. It seemed he wasn't going to be the last to arrive. "Hello Weyrwoman, Wingleaders, Wingseconds." His greeting sounded calm enough, if a little overly formal. He smiled to them all and made his way over to an open seat and took his place. It wasn't near the bluerider, but it wasn't as far as he could possibly get. He didn't exactly want to run into problems again, but he definitely wasn't avoiding her. He sat there, ready to begin. |

Nervous was one way to describe the tense air that fell about the chambers then. Another was simply just tense. Lihana had met N'kar before, and he seemed just as jumpy as she had been in the tunnels back then. Still, he had left and barely even came close to her except for that one time, so outside of some tensing about her shoulders, she didn't seem to react to him at all. Yet, that small reaction was something that Felin noticed. Probably because the Goldrider had taken to keeping an eye on the Bluerider despite herself. Still, this was nothing new, Lihana was always tense around strangers, and the Bluerider wasn't doing anything else in response, so the man was probably safe. The Goldrider sighed, nodding at his greeting. "N'kar is it?" she muttered, but did not wait for an answer. Supparith knew the other dragons well after all, even if not their riders. So she knew then, who he was, "Of Brown Rhiunth, wingsecond of the high altitude wing then." From his corner, T'gloir had tucked away the scrolls he was looking over, grinning at the Brownrider in that overly friendly way of his again. The man nodded at N'kar, then looked up as somebody else entered the room as well. Another Brownrider, another Wingsecond then. G'tet was a rough man by appearance, and a forgettable one, even if his dragon was not. Felin recognized him as the one who had delivered the news of the Gold's transfer now that she's seeing him, but she supposed some people really are just more difficult to remember when you aren't facing them. G'tet bowed ever so slightly then, his voice rough, "A good day." He nodded once at them, then slid into a seat next to Lihana. The Bluerider eyed him almost carefully for a moment before shifting her attention back to the surface of the table instead. It was clear that Lihana wasn't completely comfortable and Felin shifted her own chair closer to the Bluerider's without really thinking about it. It was to be expected though, one supposed. They were both Timers, and they both had rather rough pasts. Not to mention, surrounded by so many men made Felin highly uncomfortable, and Lihana was a lot more familiar than any of them really. The Weyrwoman rubbed her head once more before turning to those who had gathered here. There were still others missing, but she supposed they would come by sooner or later. It wasn't even that much of a meeting, just a catch up session really. To introduce those in command to each other seeing as how they would be working together a whole lot in the future. She closed her eyes then, taking a deep breath and trying to begin, only to figure out she didn't know where to. Figuring out problems was fine, but... meetings? That was not what she was used to. Once more, Lihana seemed to come to her rescue without her asking, sparking both irritation and relief at the Bluerider's actions. The younger woman had stood however, staring at the wall in a reminder that she was just as uncomfortable as anybody else in this room if not ten times more. "I suppose... introductions are in place," she spoke, her voice breaking every now and then in a soft stutter, "I...I'm not a w-wing-w..." A sigh, "Not anybdoy in ch-charge. But I would be Li-Lihana of B-Blue Jevenoth and I'm here on Supparith's re-request really." AS she sat back down, she seemed all together relieved to be out of the spotlight, slouching over and seeming to withdraw as much as she could from the rest of the room while still keeping a watchful eye out. G'tet picked up the pace then, nodding at the Weyrwoman as the sound of chair legs scraping against the stone floor indicated that he had stood. "G'tet of Brown Xierth. Wingsecond of the medium altitude Barren Wing." T'gloir chuckled ever so slightly then, standing up right as G'tet reclaimed his seat. "T'gloir of Bronze Roneth, wingleader of the lower altitude Fallen Wing." |

(This goes after anyone that is going to post however I wanted to get it up while I had the chance and so I didn’t miss out) Poking at a herbal soup she had managed to put together, Lilly was sat, looking over it, she had come down with a cold, and she remembered an old remedy that her mother used to put together for her and her brother if they got sick, she figured she would try it, despite the incredible grossness of the flavor, she sat there sipping away at it ever so slowly, trying to minimize the damage to her taste buds. Sirth led sprawled out on the floor ahead of her, almost sleeping, but not at the same time, almost in that limbo. Unsure of whether it was fate, or some other form of it, a familiar form passed by her, he wouldn’t of seen her as she was say in a back area facing behind him as he walked, she watched curiously as the brown rider walked away from her, cocking her head to the side wondering where he was going, she had noticed he wasn’t looking too comfortable and wasn’t in everyday attire. After debating for a moment or two she let curiosity get the better of her, she would follow him. She hopped up and put down her soup, and started to run after him, waking Sirth from her drowsy sleep as she went ‘Lilly-mine where are you going?’ ’ I just saw N’kar go by, I’m curious to know where he’s going.’ , Sirth jumped up bouncing on all fours lightly, ’ Was Rhiunth with him, I would so like to talk with him some more.’ ’ No he wasn’t, please Sirth stay here, I don’t know why but I just have a funny feeling, if you see Rhiunth please don’t tell him I’m following N’kar.’ ’is that because you don’t him to tell N’kar you are worried about him or … she didn’t even get to end the sentence before getting a scowling look from Lilly, she left her with a ‘fine!’ and Lilly carried on her way. She followed him down the tunnels to the council chambers coming to a halt and looking for somewhere she could hide or at least seem less suspicious until everyone had arrived, she figured he wouldn’t be the last one there, odds were good at least, she would wait a while before she snuck up close enough to listen in. her good intuition paid off as two more riders arrived, she wondered if it was time, but something told her not yet. She waited a while for all the riders to arrived that she thought was going to, and the proceeded over to somewhere where she could eves drop safely, and stood listening in on the meeting. Felin seemed worn out, and that might have even been considered putting it mildly. N'kar shouldn't have been surprised by this, considering all that she'd been through. She had jumped time, even realities it seemed, from what the wingsecond understood. She was setting up a new weyr, and on top of all of that, her dragon had a clutch hardening on the sands. From what he had heard, the clutch wasn't exactly doing great. Felin had every right to be tired. And uncomfortable. She looked a little uncomfortable. But then again, she wasn't the only one, as N'kar well knew. Another rider entered in shortly after that, another wingsecond it seemed, and took a place beside Lihana. N'kar didn't recall seeing him around before, but then again there were very few people around here that he actually would recognize. The brownrider spent the next moments searching the faces for one he might recognize, though by the time Lihana had spoken up again, she was still the only person in the room he had ever had any kind of extended interaction with. At least, none that he knew of. He was unaware of the extra rider that had followed him down here. That was his luck, wasn't it? But on the other hand, he did have to meet the other wingleaders and wingseconds at some point, so it might as well be under conditions like these, where they were all gathered together in a meeting of sorts. N'kar listened as the introductions made their way around the room. After G'tet and T'gloir, he figured he should probably introduce himself as well. The weyrwoman had already kind of done that for him after he had entered, but still, he felt he should take part in it as well. He stood after T'gloir sat again and glanced around the room. "As Weyrwoman Felin said before, I would be N'kar, rider of brown Rhiunth, wingsecond of the high altitude Wager Wing." He said, then took his seat again quietly to wait for the meeting to continue. |

It seemed that despite being called for, some of her riders weren't showing up. Then again, it wasn't as if she had made it absolutely needed that they all needed to come. They were probably busy, just as the Weyrleader was, with the construction of the Weyr anyways. Felin sighed, rubbing her temples before looking up at the group again, that weary and tired expression still quite clear in her features. "Right then," she muttered, "Introductions aside, I am aware that while this meeting is mainly to serve as an introduction between us all, there are also news and updates that I think we all need to know." She leaned back into her chair, looking even more worn out now. Eyes closing, she took a deep breath before opening them again and speaking once more. "As I'm sure, some of you have heard of the fact that Benden is sending another Queen here to 'watch over our progress' as they say. Some of you might have heard that said Queen is above me and my own Supparith in terms of seniority..." a pause here, eyes sweeping over every one of them, taking in their responses, "This is true. In both cases." G'tet didn't seem at all startled by any of this. Then again, the Goldrider didn't think he would be. The wingsecond, though only a wingsecond, often kept on top of things when it came to the general Weyr. He had been the one to first tell her of this transfer back when she had still been in one of the hatching chambers with a brooding Supparith. T'gloir's expression was that of gentle bemusement. The man was a friendly sort, from what Felin knew of him. He had been V'tor's brother after all, and so they had came from the same timeline. Both of them so dubbed 'Timers' in this Weyr. He didn't seem to judge the news in neither a negative nor positive manner. He merely just took it all in strides the way he did with most other situations it seemed. Felin didn't pay much mind to how Lihana reacted though. The Bluerider had already said it herself. She wasn't actually part of the council. Still, the Goldrider noticed that slight raising of her eyebrows, that almost narrowing of her eyes as the Bluerider seemed to just ponder over this new piece of information. Felin was leaning forwards now, one elbow on the table as her fingers drumming into the surface, "Usually, this would mean that she would be taking over my position as the Weyrwoman, however, it's apparently been decided that the Queenrider is here to make sure we do things right. In other words, they're here to watch over us like a group of brats going out to play for the first time." She splayed out her hands in front of her on top of the table now, gaze fixed in the space between her fingers rather than any of the others seated about the room. "I... predict a lot of tension will probably spring up there. However, I would prefer to avoid that whenever possible. We would have to be able to accept this new Goldrider and not start to pick sides. I don't want any sort of fights breaking out amongst ourselves or between us and her. It's not the way a Weyr is supposed to function. If any one of you here have any objections to that, please, do speak up now so we can deal with the problem here and now rather than letting it build up later." Besides her, Lihana merely shrugged slightly. G'tet nodded his head once, but did not speak, indicating his lack of anything to say upon this subject. As for T'gloir, Felin knew ever without looking at him that the Bronzerider would have no problems with this. He was an very so friendly sort. Sometimes overly friendly, but always with a good intent. At the back of her mind, she could feel Supparith speaking to the other dragons in turn as she spoke to their riders, as well as a few other dragons outside of the council circle. It wasn't that surprising. Supparith had always chosen to involve herself into the workings of the Weyr. Even the lowest little nooks and crannies that a dragon could get themselves into, Supparith would be more than willing to discuss it. 'Communication. That is the secret of any relationship that works well,' the Gold had once said. Or perhaps she had merely quoted from another dragon. she wasn't at all that sure. Rhiunth? I take it that yours has heard of the news then? the large Gold prodded the Brown gently in a question. Do you see any potential issues that might come up with the arrival of the other Gold then? It was clear that this was a rather open communication, as a calm feeling swept over the conversation that didn't come from the Queen. The ever silent Xierth spoke mostly in motions and feelings, similar to that of a firelizard in some ways, yet so much more complex in others. With that, the silent male indicated that things were best to be taken in strides as they come. And then, a slow dragging tone came through, as if the one speaking had difficulty in stringing the words together, pauses in between words and longer yet between sentences. It... all depends... on the... Queen herself.... now... doesn't it? The Bronze Roneth was known for his patient and watchful personality, as well as his slow speech. Though those who know of him didn't think any less of him because of his speech patterns, though some might get impatient with his answers. We... will not... stir up any... trouble... But... one cannot... predict how... the Queen would... act herself. Then we would simply have to make sure that we are not the ones who initiate any sort of disturbance then? Isn't that right? A wave of agreement from Xierth, a quiet hum from Roneth, and then, But of course milady. I should share this with Zygeth then. He has been quite confused at the latest news we've been having. This should help to clear it up and spread it amongst the others. With that, Jevenoth withdrew himself from the mental mindscape of their conversation, presumably to do just as he had said. The Gold Supparith didn't just speak with the Bronzes and Browns after all. And this was a decision that would affect everybody, so it was just quite as well to know how the Greens and Blues would feel about it as well after all. Such was the way the Gold worked, always had been. |

It seemed that this was going to be the extent of the riders present at this meeting. N'kar supposed they had their reasons, but that only meant that he would have to be a more vocal part of this than if there had been more riders taking part. It wasn't a huge deal, the wingsecond would survive. He just wouldn't be completely comfortable through it. He sat leaning back in his chair, eyes on the weyrwoman as she spoke. He couldn't help but notice how tired she looked once again. In a way, he was glad that he didn't have quite as much to worry about as she did. Leaning forward slightly, he listened with interest to the news that Felin spoke of. A new queen eh? N'kar thought he had heard something about that, but until now he had only considered it a rumor and hadn't thought much about it. He gave a slight nod, more to himself than to anyone else in the chamber as he realized it wasn't just a rumor. Now that it was confirmed he would have to give it a little more thought. Just why Benden thought it would be needed to send another queen and rider to Galvalin to watch over them as they set up was N'kar's guess right now. Something like that could potentially cause a lot of problems right now - but then again, maybe it wouldn't be all bad. Another queen might help ease the strain on Felin to a point. That, or make it worse. And from the way Felin spoke of it, the weyrwoman didn't seem that thrilled with the idea. Could she really be blamed? N'kar had a feeling that she was thinking on the "make it worse" side of possibilities. He leaned back again, shaking his head ever so slightly, yet enough to be taken in response to her wishes. N'kar wasn't the sort to go around starting conflicts or stirring up trouble. He would perform his duties in the weyr as he was asked. The day he intentionally caused problems would be quite a backwards day indeed. Outside, Rhiunth was a part of his own incarnation of the meeting. The dragons of the riders present - as well as various other dragons not exactly involved in the meeting taking place in the council chambers. The brown hadn't really reacted much to the news of a new queen from Benden, but chances were that he would find a reason to welcome her kindly when she arrived. That was how he was, and how he had always been. 'Yes, he had heard but he wasn't exactly keen to believe it until Yours confirmed it.' Rhiunth supplied his answer as he had been asked. 'I can't see that Mine or myself will cause any problems upon her arrival. I fully agree with Roneth. I won't stir up conflict, but ultimately it depends on how she is and how she acts. The last thing I would want to do is upset the Weyr.' The dragon put in his own thoughts to the conversation as the others had. Rhiunth was generally a very social beast, but he did know his place. If it was best he leave the new queen alone, alone is how he would leave her so as not to create issues where it was best there were none. |

Felin was rubbing her head now, sitting back into her chair. It seemed that N’kar didn’t have much to add, but then again, not that surprising. There wasn’t much to be done or said about the matters on hand. They were simply happening and they would simply have to adapt, that was all. Once again, the Wyerwoman surveyed over the room, watching each person almost carefully. They were all men here, honestly. Outside of Lihana, that was. She didn’t know just how well she was going to be able to handle that outside of this one meeting if she were to ever have to meet with them once more like this. It wasn’t anything personal, it was just that women were a whole lot easier to deal with for her, even though she simply didn’t trust anybody on a personal level, man or woman. Still, she trusted them to do their jobs, and she trusted them to do them well. They wouldn’t be in their positions otherwise, especially in this sort of pressurized environment where everybody was going to be pushed to their last reserves and nerves, without a doubt. Fate had a funny way of going about it seems, and it simply loved to toss hardships at those it keeps its eye on. G’tet seemed to be pondering upon one thing or another, seemingly accessing the situation. He remained silent for the time being, turning over the rocks in his mind to find issues that might need to be covered before this meeting came to an end. T’gloir was smiling, his head tilted somewhat as he laced his fingers together, sitting back in his chair. He didn’t seem in any rush to speak, though Felin knew that he probably would speak, and probably soon. Lihana, however, seemed to be withdrawing into herself even more now. There was that calculating look within those eyes that matched the weariness of an animal trying to decide what was a threat and which one was a more pressing one. “So… Is there actually a date for when the Queenrider is coming?” T’gloir drawled out eventually into the silence that was starting to form. Just as Felin thought she would. The Weyrwoman sighed, rubbing her head. “I do believe she’ll be here in a few days, barring any sort of obstruction or distraction on Benden’s side. We’ll be ready, or as ready as we can be still being in construction as we are, to greet her when she comes.” T’gloir nodded then, “Well. So many factors, at the very least, we would have another rider here to help out along with the development of the Weyr. After all, watching over us like a foster mother or not, she’s not going be able to get away with not pulling her weight.” There was a smile that tugged upon Felin’s lips then, and she heard the slight snicker from Lihana besides her. “That’s true,” the Goldrider muttered. Somebody to help take responsibility as well. It would make things easier for her, especially if there isn’t any extra tension between them. Though from what she got, that might be a bit difficult to tell so early. Briefly, Felin checked in with Supparith on the dragons’ side of the conversation, finding her that her Gold had started to speak with other dragons as well. The news there wasn’t that bad then, and she nodded inwardly. That was one less thing that they would have to worry about then, at the very least. She glanced once more to her side, only to stop as her eyebrows shot upwards. Lihana was now staring at a point near the entrance to the chambers now. It wasn’t something that caused her worry, as the Bluerider was merely just… watching really. As if having found a firelizard on a beach that wasn’t supposed to be there. Nothing dangerous, nothing to alert the others about, but something to be observed nonetheless. She nudged the Bluerider slightly with her foot and Lihana turned her head ever so slightly. Catching her eye, the younger rider merely gave an even smaller shrug and went back to watching that spot. Then, the Bluerider’s gaze flickered over to N’kar before it moved slowly back to that spot before Lihana sat back into her chair. Her posture was still tensed and weary, but for her, this was really quite a relaxed stance. “We got ourselves a little tag along,” Lihana muttered beneath her breath, making sure that only Felin heard her. If it were possible, Felin’s eyebrows would have gone further up. However, it wasn’t at all possible, so she had to settle for turning her head ever so slightly as Lihana shrugged again. “Nothing important. Just that feeling that somebody is there, you know how it is,” the Bluerider muttered, slouching slightly in her seat. Though, no, Felin didn’t know how it was. Then again, she was aware that Lihana had fine tuned her senses to pick up on the presence of others better than anybody else, and if the Bluerider said it was nothing important, than she supposed it wasn’t. Much as she hated relying on Lihana, she knew the Bluerider was right about these things most of the time. Besides, it wasn’t as if they were discussing anything that wouldn’t eventually be heard by the rest of the Weyr after all. |

N'kar didn't really have much to say on the matter, it was true. But then, that was just how he was. Unless he had a serious concern or something of the sort, he didn't feel there was much for him to add. It wasn't like he was going to go around causing trouble - far from it, he hated causing trouble. To assure Felin of that seemed a little unnecessary to the wingsecond. And besides, there wasn't much that could be done anyway. The silence was starting to drag on a bit in the room. N'kar assumed it was because everyone was taking a moment to think over the situation. The brownrider glanced around at them all, trying to see if he could figure out what they thought. After a moment he gave up on it and proceeded to investigate his hands on the table before him, chewing at his lip. Were there any concerns he had? No, none he could think of. Not now at least, but if something did present itself he was sure he could speak with his own wingleader about it before anything came of it. That was, provided G'fish wasn't too busy as he seemed to be quite often lately. It was understandable of course, considering he was the Weyrleader afterall. T'gloir was the one that finally broke the silence, dragging N'kar from his musing and mulling. He directed his attention at the bronzerider then and his question. It would be good to know when this other goldrider would be arriving. He nodded slightly, adding his own agreement to the question. A few days was the response he got. That didn't give them much time to prepare, but then, what could they really do to prepare? They were pretty busy as it was. N'kar thought a moment, then added his own voice to the conversation with a thought that had occured to him. "What are the plans for greeting her when she arrives then?." N'kar had been only a candidate when they had had a goldrider transfer to his old weyr. He had heard that she had been a very friendly sort, as the weyrleader and weyrwoman had been, and that they had held a "meeting" of sorts where she had introduced herself to anyone in the weyr that had been interested in showing up. Things were different here, of course, but still. She would have to be greeted in some way shape or form. "I mean, is there going to be a kind of meeting for her, or will there be a group of riders present to help her out and show her around?" N'kar suspected it would more than likely be the latter based on their current situation and the condition of the weyr. It was then that N'kar happened to notice Lihana's steady gaze at the entrance. It wasn't anything he cared to comment on, considering their former meeting, but silently he still wondered what it was that had caught her interest. Looking away again, the brownrider just managed to miss her glance in his direction, though it was hard for him to ignore the fact that Lihana and Felin were discussing... something quiet enough that no one else could hear it, and that was enough to keep his curiousity trained on what was so interesting in the entrance. |

Late. If there was anything that annoyed the Weyrleader most, it was being late to an important meeting. Never mind that he had not been expected to attend. Felin knew he was busy, and N'ar was there for his Wing. G'fish had far too many projects to supervise to sit out for a meeting that could very well go on for several candlemarks. He had not felt guilty in telling Felin that he likely would not be there. However... the idea of missing a meeting with all of the Wingleaders and Wingseconds did not sit right with him. In his time here he had not gotten to know any of them well. Not even N'kar outside of their work in the Wager Wing. That was just irresponsible of him. A Weyrleader should know his riders by name. G'fish doubted he could name off more than four who hadn't been in the group of Timers. The situation needed to be rectified. You could let Supparith know I am coming, Wendelth. That was as good as telling Felin. Well, hopefully. The queen did not always care about what the bronze said (G'fish thought she enjoyed toying with him), and her temper had only gotten worse since clutching. He could only hope the message was passed on to her rider. My heart, my rider requests that you tell the Weyrwoman he is on his way, and he apologizes for his tardiness, Wendelth called to his mate. He really wasn't that far from her. Ever since his lecture for not being there when she had clutched, the bronze had been guarding the entrance to the Sands. Sometimes he was as broody as she was. As G'fish approached, he noticed an odd shadow. His gaze drifted up to land on a young woman. Lurking. Eavesdropping. The Weyrleader's first reaction was anger. Weyrfolk, especially riders, should not spy on their leaders. And her knots named her a green. Not of his Wing or he would have known her name. Anger soon passed to confusion. Why would one listen in on this particular meeting? The subject was a mundane matter, hardly of any importance to someone without rank. Odd. Well, he would just set matters straight. Quietly he cleared his throat just loud enough to alert her to his presence, but softly enough not to startle her too much. "Excuse me, ma'am, but it is impolite to eavesdrop on your leaders. Either join us, or move on your way." The words seemed harsh, but G'fish's deep voice held no anger. He considered her for a moment. "I am interested to know why you chose the listen in on this conversation... Come to my office tomorrow morning, please. I'm sure it will be an interesting discussion." With a final nod in farewell, he turned and entered the chamber. Shard it, he was so late. G'fish entered the chamber in time to hear N'kar's question. "She will be greeted as her station demands. A group of ranking riders, well-informed on the various construction projects going on will escort her throughout the Weyr. She will be shown to her own Junior Weyrwoman quarters and be allowed to freshen up, relax, and settle in to her new home. And then we shall hold a feast. That should be an event in and of itself.. Our first Weyr-wide feast." G'fish took a seat next to Felin, giving her just a small smile in greeting. As usual, his heart lit up at the sight of her. But that was to be ignored. "Our first real matter of business is choosing the group who will greet her. The Weyrwoman and myself must be present. Any less would be an insult to the Gold and her rider. N'kar, our wing will be on construction duty that day. I would like you to be among our greeting party, if you are willing." G'fish looked carefully at the rest seated at the table. They would need to leave some Wingleaders and -seconds, to look over construction projects and Wing training. Edited by matiera, Jul 4 2010, 08:34 AM.

Lilly had been listening to the conversation progressing in the council room, she really hadn’t considered that she was eavesdropping, but when it came down to it she was. Still she listened intently for N’kar specifically, as he was the most interesting to her. Most of what had been talked about was either rather boring or very interesting. Finding people’s names, very boring, a second gold queen coming to watch over them, very interesting, or maybe it would cause a lot of drama, only time would tell. Lilly was really surprised when a voice came from behind her, she spun around backing herself into the wall in a certain amount of shock, and as luck would have it the Weyrleader of all people be there. She could only nod, to him as he spoke to her, speaking for her was totally out of the question. She stood perfectly still, wondering if she would be in serious trouble now, it didn’t seem so but, she wasn’t the best at reading people. As he continued on she could only nod to his request, she then watch as he proceeded into the room, maybe now would be a good time to leave? She thought it best, at least, she made her way out of the council area, as she would probably need some professional advice later. How would the easiest way to find him later be though? a thought popped into her head, and a rather nervous rambling to her dragon commenced ’Sirth, do you happen to know where Rhiunth is?’ |

Supparith replied to her mate the way she usually would have before the hatching, proving that she was in a better mood now, and then passing the message onto her rider. So when G'fish has appeared into the chambers, Felin wasn't at all too surprised. Lihana, on the other hand, didn't react at all. It wasn't that the Bluerider didn't notice the Weyrleader. It was hard not to notice him when she just kept staring at the entrance like that. It seemed that G'fish had managed to talk with their little lurker though, so that much was that then. Still, she didn't really do much but give him a slight nod. The Bluerider didn't really know where she stood with the man. Oh, they knew each other enough in an unofficial capacity. And yes, they had that bond that all the timers had. But on a more personal level... well, that was hard to say. She was, in one way or another, close to his weyrmate. In a manner of speaking that is. Lihana was aware that Felin tolerated her, and to some extent, accepted her, because of who the Bluerider was As G'fish took his seat though, Felin shot him a grateful look. After all, this meant that she wasn't going to be the sole center of attention anymore. It wasn't as if she minded that usually, it came with the job as a Weyrwoman, but with her dragon's mood and the recent news, she could do with as much help as she could get. Both of them were busy in their own way after all. From where they were, T'gloir shot G'fish a grin. The Bronzerider leaned back into his chair, taking things as if the Weyrleader had been in the room right from the start. "So," the cheerful man drawled out, "Same thing as usual then? Well, I would volunteer, but that depends on if you want me there or not." G'tet shook his head, "I can't. I have to go and oversee that the new tunnels that we just expanded doesn't flood." He sighed, rubbing his head, "Of course, it would be easier if they had just checked beforehand, or even just asked the whers we have around here... But I guess we just aren't used to working purely underground just yet." He shook his head again, this time slower, "I suppose if if I may, as a wingsecond, ask that our second matter of business after this greeting party is settled, that we focus on a way to get our riders to understand that the whers are important to this Weyr?" T'gloir blinked then, "You know. That's a good point right here. Have we actually put any of our whers into our construction groups? I mean, outside of the fact that we work in different time zones?" G'tet grunted, "We have... it's just that nobody really checks with them because they just aren't used to the idea of working with them yet. And as for the time periods... Being underground makes it a whole lot more flexible, though it's hard on the handlers for the first couple of days... and then for a few more when they get back to their night shifts." The Brownrider rubbed his head again, "Personally, I think as riders, we should probably be shifting our constructions into a later shift and make it easier on them. After all, it's hardly fair on them and they do watch our backs when the nights fall and we're all in our furs." |

An unexpected yet familiar voice came with an answer to his question and N'kar turned to see G'fish entering the chamber. Nodding a polite greeting to the late arrival, the wingsecond had to admit that he was a little surprised to see the weyrleader there at all. He knew there was a lot going on that the man had to oversee, and the way he understood it he would be the only one here to represent their wing. Still, he wasn't complaining. At least he had a work relationship with G'fish, being his wingsecond and all. That was better than he could say of anyone else in the room at least. N'kar listened to the answer he was given as G'fish made his way around to the seat on the other side of Felin. It was his question being discussed, afterall. What good what it do if he wasn't even paying attention? He nodded slowly. It made sense that there should be a few riders present that knew what was going on to show her around. And the feast sounded pretty good itself. It would probably be the first time the whole weyr would be brought together for anything like that, and feasts were usually fairly joyous and entertaining. It could also be a good way to get aquainted to more of the people here, though N'kar wasn't quite so sure he would be doing much of that aspect of it himself. The greeting party on the other hand, well that probably wasn't something he should avoid doing if G'fish thought he should be there. "I'd be more than willing to be a part of the group to greet her." The wingsecond confirmed. "That is, unless you think the rest of the wing needs me around more." The last bit was added just as an afterthought, not like N'kar was turning the weyrleader down on his request. The brownrider would join the greeting party if he was asked, and it did seem he had been. Judging by the fact that G'fish had said that he would like him to be there though, he doubted the weyrleader would say he'd rather N'kar stay back and help with the wing. That would be kind of contradictory, afterall. The others present weighed in on the mater themselves, N'kar making notes of who else he might expect to see. Then something was pointed out. G'tet's point about the whers and their handlers was a good one. Personally, N'kar hadn't really had much interaction with them before Galvalin, though that should hardly come as a surprise to anyone. It wasn't that he looked down on them as a good deal of riders did, it was just that that was how he was. But in truth, the whers did a lot for the riders. It couldn't really hurt them to give a little back and make things easier for the wherhandlers. N'kar didn't add anything to the conversation himself, but he supported G'tet's oppinion there. |

Felin watched the chambers, listening to the conversations and took in the points. G'tet there had a good point, the wherhandlers did do a lot for this Weyr, and it made sense to make things easier on them. She nodded slightly, almost tensely, not because she disagreed, but the entire state of affairs here with the new Queen left an almost bitter aftertaste in her mouth. She supposed it was a matter of pride and irritation, because whatever reason it was that Benden had sent another Goldrider, an older Goldrider at that, here, it didn't sit well with her. The Weyrwoman could feel her pride stinging if it really was just only to watch over them to make sure that they were doing alright. And she could feel an anger biting at her consciousness if the Queenrider had been sent to keep tabs on them for Benden's sake. It was either that they were incompetent or untrustworthy. Neither sat well with her. She glanced over to Lihana briefly, taking note that the Bluerider had looked away from the entrance of the council chamber now and was instead watching G'tet almost curiously. Felin had no idea why this was so, but then again, Lihana had always been a little unpredictable, especially with the things that she said. So the Weyrwoman merely shook it off and turned to the rest of the council gathered here, giving a nod as she spoke, "I'll see to rearranging the rest of our schedules to fit both groups better. It's certainly a matter that could be improved on from the current state of things. Most of our Weyr life here is spent in the dark and quite different from other Weyrs, we need to remind our riders of that I suppose." G'tet grunted from where he was, seeming rather rude as he muttered beneath his breath. "Life here sure ain't the sharding same," he grumbled as Felin ignored that. Perhaps if it had came from any of the other riders, she might have been offended, but she had spent some time with the man briefly before. Not long enough to know him, but enough to know that it was simply in his nature to be rough in his mannerism. He didn't actually mean anything by it. From where he sat, T'gloir merely chuckled somewhat, tapping the table top as he spoke in a friendly tone as he always did, "So... Any other matters that would need to be covered while we are here then?" |
