Name: Sh'fet Gender: Male Age: 24 Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual Rank: Wingrider Appearance: Sh'fet is rather unlike his brother in most ways, this not being lost on his looks. Where D'riv has sharp features, Sh'fet possesses more rounded facial features (though similar jaw lines give away their relation). People often prefer to approach him rather than his brother when the pair is together simply for the fact that Sh'fet just SEEMS more approachable (and more serious for that matter). People often joke that Sh'fet's relaxed expression is furrowed brow and thoughtful scowl, though he has been known to show off a similar jester-esque expression when he's having fun. Unlike D'riv, Sh'fet's most noticeable feature isn't his eyes, which are a noticeably lighter, almost honey golden color. No, what people tend to notice most about Sh'fet is his height. It seems that the man takes after his mother more in terms of height, as he was always on the shorter side like she was. He stands somewhere in the area of 5'7" - 5'8". What he most often conveys in posture is something like a sense of responsibility, calculation, and a fairly good sense of right and wrong. Being as short as he is though, he doesn't really have much of a commanding presence. The clothing that Sh'fet usually chooses to wear is more muted than his brother's. His hair is lighter, almost tinged with blonde in some lights, and a little longer. Sh'fet prefers to be less clean shaven than his older brother. He's a little more broadly built than his brother too, though not too much so. Personality: In contrast with his brother, Sh'fet always seemed to be the most mature of the children in their family. Though 3 turns younger than D'riv, it was obvious from a young age that he wouldn't be quite as care-free as his older brother. Sh'fet always seemed more practical in thinking and more responsible. More down-to-earth and concerned with the present than D'riv, Sh'fet was often sent after his brother to make sure he didn't get into TOO much trouble. Even today, the brownrider can still be found tailing the older bluerider to keep him from doing anything stupid. Sh'fet would have always rather finished chores first, THEN find something fun to do. Yet, this isn't to say that Sh'fet is completely devoid of any kind of sense of humor or fun. Quite the contrary in fact. The "family fun trait", as they call it, still found its way into Sh'fet's makeup. He knows how to enjoy himself when the time is right, and can actually be a lot of fun when the opportunity arrives. He can take a joke, even make a few on a good day. Despite being the more mature of the oldest siblings, Sh'fet does have a slight wild streak to him when he feels like letting it out. Unlike D'riv, Sh'fet wasn't quite as accepting of the Timers as some. Their story was something he just had a hard time believing, being more practical as he was. The thought that they would come from a DIFFERENT Pern just seemed too unreal for him. Yet, odd though they are, Sh'fet hasn't found a reason to suspect anything of them and so he will give them the benefit of the doubt and as much kindness as he gives to anyone until they should give him reason to do otherwise. History: Sh'fet was the second child born to weyrfolk Norrek and Yvelle of Southern Weyr. Like his brother D'riv before him, life at the weyr was all Sh'fet ever knew. He wouldn't trade it if he had the chance though. Just like with his brother, Yvelle kept her son close at hand while he was young. Unfortunately for Sh'fet, the woman had D'riv to base her experience on, so she kept her eye on her second son longer before letting him have more freedom to do as he pleased. To her surprise though, Sh'fet wasn't much like his older brother. He did follow the older boy around, and he did get into trouble because of it, but it wasn't long before he learned. After a little while, he figured out that if he didn't go along with D'riv on his crazy expeditions, he didn't get in trouble. Sh'fet grew up spending more of his time shadowing his family members and sometimes even the other people around the weyr as long as they would tolerate him. Unlike D'riv, he found it more enjoyable to watch and learn rather than annoy and get into trouble. He did follow his older brother around a few times, and a few times he was successful at keeping the older boy from getting into trouble. It was strange, but somehow he could manage to get D'riv to listen to him even though he was three turns younger. No one was complaining though. Even at such a young age, he was already so much more mature than his brother. Some thought it strange that the two boys could be so different, but they were. Like his brother though, Sh'fet did have a certain respect for the riders. Growing up around them, he knew a few of them well enough. If he was asked, he wouldn't deny that he wanted to be one, but being the more practical child he was he didn't give it much hope that he would actually impress. Yet still, he would go on to stand in a hatching about a turn after D'riv impressed his blue. To his surprise, that hatching happened to include one egg that, upon cracking revealed a red-brown dragonet unlike any other (to the now-dubbed Sh'fet at least). This was his Charth. He was his Sh'fet. The next turns were wonderful to Sh'fet. He enjoyed being a rider, the responsibility that came with it, and of course the companion he gained. Things would change when the Timers appeared though. While D'riv found it so easy to accept them, Sh'fet had a harder time. He wasn't one to judge like that, and to be fair he wasn't really judging them. He merely found it hard to believe such an odd story. How could anyone, rider or not, come from a DIFFERENT Pern? And yet, their dragons were so much larger. Something was different about them, for sure. In the end, Sh'fet decided that they deserved the same kindness as anyone else. Pet(s): None Other: None Quick References: Family: Yvelle - Mother Norrek - Father D'riv - Brother Nyra - Younger Sister Other Important Relationships: None Birth Place: Southern (the section below is for dragonriders only) Dragon: Charth Age: 9 Color: Brown (#b55432) Appearance: Charth is on the larger side of the spectrum for browns, with a nice sturdy build to him though he is by no means stocky. He is well proportioned, though one might notice the somewhat larger feet the brown possesses. They work for him though, as they contribute a look of a sturdy base to his sturdy build. Boxy wings cut down on his maneuverability in the air, but he isn't one that goes for all those tricky flights anyway. As for his coloring, Charth's base hide color is a red-brown shade, like iron-filled rocks in a mountain. His coloring is fairly uniform over his back, up his neck, and down his tail, but at his feet he has a series of jagged lines of darker color that fade until they disappear about half way up his legs. The lines almost resemble rocks, fitting with his "sturdy" appearance. Personality: The personality of the one called Charth is often something noble, almost stuck up at times, though that's normally only on bad days for the brown. He is a humble beast on most accounts, often complimenting other dragons and turning down anything said of himself. Though he does enjoy a good conversation, he usually waits for the other to start it so as not to bother anyone. Waiting behind while others go on ahead of him isn't uncommon for him to do either. Some describe Charth as acting almost like a protective or concerned older brother at times. He likes to look out for those near him. It makes him feel better to do so, though he never really gives a reason why. At the same time though, Charth can have a short patience for silly games when he isn't in the mood for it. He doesn't really have much tolerance for it, it's true, but he isn't rude about it either. Most time he just doesn't play along. Relationship with Liamoth and D'riv As their riders aren't usually far apart, Charth and Liamoth are around each other a lot as well. Charth isn't overly fond of Liamoth, with the much smaller blue being one that does enjoy jokes and tricks and general silliness. But as much as Liamoth enjoys it, D'riv does even more. Where Charth can at least get along with Liamoth, he doesn't care much at all for D'riv and wonders why exactly Sh'fet puts up with him. Other: Edited by Kimori, Jul 5 2010, 05:12 AM.
