Name: D'riv

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Sexual Orientation: Bisexual

Rank: Wingrider

Appearance: When describing D'riv, one might first start with his eyes. They are a rather average shade of light brown, unlike his brother's. In that sense, they are hardly much to draw attention. No, what catches the attention of other people is the expressiveness they possess. They have a look about them - something lighthearted, joking, and sometimes even wild. This is something that sticks there almost all the time, the exceptions being in time of extreme emotion.

Aside from that, D'riv has somewhat pointed features. This gives him an almost mischievous look at most times, whether or not he's planning anything. Sometimes this makes him hard to take seriously. Still, he has a certain attractive look about him. His hair is a dark shade of an almost sandy brown color, and he keeps it slightly shorter than his younger brother. Unlike his brother, he prefers to keep a more cleanly shaven look.

As far as build goes, D'riv is thin and well toned, as most riders are. His skin tone is an average tan for most people hailing from Southern. Standing at about 6 feet, the rider is taller than his brother as he always has been. He carries himself the way any self-respecting trickster would. Pride is something he isn't short on either. As far as clothing goes, he prefers the look of somewhat brighter colors.

Personality: D'riv was always the more wild child of the family. The look in his eyes is supported almost fully by his very free-living personality. This rider is a man that enjoys life and all the fun that comes with it. He is definitely not overly serious in most situations. He's a joker, preferring to look at the lighter side of life and take things as they come. He's often loud and energetic, and he enjoys the company of others. Under most conditions, D'riv is capable of keeping himself out of trouble and within the boundaries of acceptable behavior, but for the times he isn't, Sh'fet is most certainly able to keep him in check.

D'riv is a bit of a flirt at times. This was much worse when he was younger, but it's still there in his actions sometimes, especially when the other person is willing to go along with it. D'riv can be sly when he needs to, and he always loves a good joke. Sometimes he pushes a little too far. He's a hard one to offend, and he doesn't actually dislike anyone. The only people he doesn't much care for are people with little sense of humor or people who have little patience for his antics.

Being a part of the weyr that supports Galvalin, D'riv generally has a positive look on the Timers and their story. He finds it interesting and wouldn't mind getting to know them a little better personally if he can. He'll be the first to admit that he thought it was all some giant joke from the Northern weyrs in the beginning, but after a while he decided that it was pretty truthful. The fact that the heads of the weyrs were being so serious about it kind of did help his decision along too...

History: D'riv was the first born to Yvelle and Norrek, a pair of weyrfolk at Southern. Living there was the only life the boy ever knew, not that he ever protested. He spent most of his youngest turns of life under the watch of his mother until he was old enough that he was given a bit more freedom. This might not have been the greatest idea though, as they soon discovered that the future D'riv was quite the handful. In honesty, his parents were quite surprised when the young boy started to become a lot more to handle. They will both be quick to explain that he had been a very quiet and calm child until a turn or so after the birth of his younger brother when he was 3.

As he grew older, D'riv spent more and more of his free time bothering whoever happened to be around at the time or running like a crazy lunatic through the weyr. It could probably go without saying that he had a way of getting himself into trouble whether he meant to or not. This never really did faze him much, though it probably shaved a few turns off of the life of his parents. He was a very social kid, not afraid to jump in on anyone else's conversation if he had something to add. This didn't exactly make him popular with adults, but he didn't care. Still today he isn't afraid of making himself a part of anyone's conversation if he feels the need, bluerider though he may be.

For several turns, D'riv only got worse, finding himself in more trouble more often. There was a period of time that his parents didn't know what they would do with him if he didn't change his ways. Not long after that the boy did almost just that to the surprise of most people that knew him. It wasn't a total change - he was still an annoying, overly social, troublemaker of a brat, but it was to a noticeably lesser degree, to everyone's relief.

All his life, D'riv had admired the dragonriders. It was much to his joy that he was allowed to stand once he was old enough. Yet he wouldn't impress on his first time. It wouldn’t be until his third time standing, at the age of 17, that the shell containing his Liamoth would crack and his name would officially become D'riv. Together, the pair could be one heck of a thorn in the side of just about anyone whenever they chose to.

When the Timers showed up and news of the opening a new weyr began spreading D'riv chose to stay behind at Southern. The reasons he gave were many, though few of them were actually true. In the end, he just didn't feel the need to go deal with all the trouble that would come with setting up a new weyr. That, or his brother somehow managed to talk him out of it knowing he would be a bigger problem than help.

Dragon: Liamoth

Age: 10

Color: Blue (#4421db)

Appearance: Liamoth is a little small for a blue, a fact he isn't exactly proud of but accepts all the same. Other than that though, his appearance isn't all that fascinating. His hide is a nice shade of almost purple-hued blue and rather uniform in color. The only exception to this is a slightly darker streak down his neck and chest, ending just before the beginning of his tail. This streak is in a place that's usually in shadow or not seen at all though, so people rarely notice it.

In build, Liamoth doesn't really stand out much either. He's shaped like an average blue. He is thin, quick, and tricky-looking, complimenting his rider quite well in that aspect. His wings are narrow, made for maneuverability in the air. In all honesty though, Liamoth just isn't a dragon that most people remember just on sight.

Personality: As far as personality goes, one could describe Liamoth as relatively pleasant. Like blues have been known to be, Liamoth is fairly calm on his own, if sometimes a little mischievous. He always enjoys a good conversation, and a good story when he can get one is just fantastic. Like his rider, he's a pretty social creature. A good trick now and again isn't awful either, though that part comes mostly from living his whole life with D'riv.

On the flip side though, Liamoth has a particular temper that can strike occasionally. It isn't often, but as he is rather small for his color he sometimes gets talked down to a lot. This is probably the one thing that will bother Liamoth, and he has been known to snap at other dragons for treating him like that. Any other time he's a perfectly friendly dragon, but he does strive to prove that he isn't just a runt of a blue when he has the chance or the drive to.

Relationship with Charth and Sh'fet
Liamoth doesn't really have a problem with Charth. Sure, he thinks the much larger brown is a bit stuffy for his taste, but he doesn't dislike him. In fact, Liamoth finds it quite entertaining to annoy Charth. As for Sh'fet though, that's a different story. It isn't that the blue dislikes anything particular about his rider's brother. Actually, he probably wouldn't mind Sh'fet at all if he cared to. Instead, he dislikes him more on principle, since Charth doesn't like D'riv.
