Thank you for writing a great book (carefully saving the sequel for a long flight in a few weeks), and for setting up this website, much appreciated. While my professional interests are statistics and economics, I did take a minor in contemporary history (the Anglo-German Naval Race and the Russian Civil War being my chosen topics) and I've been reading AH since "The Man in the High Castle". Oh, and I absolutely cannot stand Harry Turtledove! The one reason that made Gray Tide resonate with me is that it used the same winning strategy I've followed in many wargames - the Elder Von Moltke Plan. So you had me at the summary. |

Thanks for dropping by, Ivo, and thank you for your kind words. Feel free to speak your mind on Gray Tide with an Amazon review. I am a big PKD fan, and I thought Man in the High Castle was brilliant (although my favorite of his works is probably Ubik). I like Turtledove a little better than you do (I thought Guns of the South was great), although I have a rather different approach to AH, namely no sci-fi PODs (i.e. alien invasions or time travelers). I love to hear your thoughts on Tidal Effects when you finish it. |
