Zaku Sniper

Model Number: MS-05L
Overall Height: 17.5m
Base Weight: 67.9t

Quote:

An obsolete Zaku I which has been recycled as a long-range sniper machine. Thanks to the sub-generator installed in its large backpack, it can drive a beam sniper rifle. In U.C. 0096, it is used by Zeon remnants as Kirks's personal machine.

Zaku Mariner

Model Number: RMS-192M
Overall Height: 17.5m
Base Weight: 48.8t

Quote:

An amphibious mobile suit with a complicated history. Originally created by the Zeon forces, it was captured and upgraded by the Earth Federation Forces, and then recaptured by Neo Zeon. It is currently used by Zeon remnants.

Posted Image
Zaku Cannon

Model Number: MS-06K
Overall Height: 17.7m
Base Weight: 59.1t

Quote:

A medium-range support version of the MS-06 Zaku II, developed at the end of the One Year War. It is equipped with a 180mm cannon and two smoke dischargers on its backpack, and twin rocket pods called "big guns" on its waist. Some units captured during the war were later used by the Federation Forces, but in U.C. 0096, it demonstrates its original power in the hands of the Zeon remnants.

Desert Zaku

Model Number: MS-06D
Overall Height: 18.5m
Base Weight: 44.7t

Quote:

The MS-06D Zaku Desert Type was a Zaku II variation designed during the One Year War for desert use. This version includes improvements added by anti-Federation guerilla groups. It can move very quickly over the sand with its optional jet ski units. It is still in use by Zeon remnants as of U.C. 0096, when it joins the attack on the Torrington base.

Posted Image
Efreet Schneid

Model Number: MS-08TX/S
Overall Height: 17.2m
Base Weight: 52.4t

Quote:

An upgraded version of the MS-08TX Efreet, a prototype close combat mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War. It carries a large number of heat darts which can be thrown at enemy targets. After the war, it was repeatedly improved by Zeon remnants who remained in hiding and clung to their purpose. Its overall performance has been improved as a result, and even in U.C. 0096, it still has ground combat capabilities worthy of the Efreet name.

Gallus-K

Model Number: AMX-101K
Overall Height: 19.5m
Base Weight: 52.7t

Quote:

A variation of the AMX-101 Galluss-J, which was developed for use in the Earth invasion during the first Neo Zeon War. The original shoulder missiles and finger missiles are omitted, and it is equipped instead with a beam cannon of the same type as the hand-held weapon used by the AMX-008 Ga-Zowmn. Developed in U.C. 0088, this obscure machine finally appears on history's center stage in U.C. 0096.

Posted Image
Marasai

Model Number: RMS-108
Overall Height: 17.5m
Base Weight: 33.1t

Quote:

An attack mobile suit used by the Titans, one of the military factions during the Gryps Conflict that divided the Earth Federation Forces. It was a successor to the RMS-106 Hizack, with a more stable energy supply thanks to its enhanced generator output. Although it was a Federation machine, this masterpiece had a Zeon-style design, and having somehow fallen into the hands of the Zeon remnants it seems perfectly well-suited as one of their machines.

Posted Image
Dwadge

Model Number: MS-09G
Overall Height: 18.2m
Base Weight: 43.5t

Quote:

The final production version of the Principality of Zeon's heavy mobile suit MS-09 Dom. After the war, it received a variety of improvements and was updated to meet the standards of second-generation mobile suits. It is recorded that this machine was used by Zeon remnants and anti-Federation guerilla forces during the first Neo Zeon War, and in U.C. 0096, its high ground mobility is once again demonstrated in battle against the Federation Forces.

Posted Image
Dom Tropen

Model Number: MS-09F/trop
Overall Height: 18.5m
Base Weight: 44.8t

Quote:

A version of the Principality of Zeon's heavy mobile suit MS-09 Dom which has been redesigned for combat in tropical and desert environments. The improved hovering systems in its legs have increased protection against dust and sand. This machine was deployed in regions such as Africa at the end of the One Year War, and in U.C. 0096, one of the remaining units participates in the attack on the Torrington base.

Desert Gelgoog

Model Number: MS-14D
Overall Height: 19.8m
Base Weight: 43.7t

Quote:

A desert warfare version of the Zeon mobile suit MS-14A Gelgoog, which was deployed at the end of the One Year War. It has a distinctive projectile weapon called the armed buster on its left arm, and a scope on its backpack for use while traveling under the sand. The machine of this type confirmed in U.C. 0096 is also equipped with rocket boosters, giving it amazing jumping capabilities.

Z'Gok

Model Number: MSM-07
Overall Height: 18.4m
Base Weight: 65.1t

Quote:

An amphibious mobile suit developed by the Principality of Zeon during the One Year War, for use in terrestrial operations. It has high offensive strength thanks to the iron nails and mega particle cannons in its arms, and the 240mm rocket launchers installed in its head. Because it was designed for lighter weight, it also has high agility both on land and in the water. Even in U.C. 0096, it still poses a serious threat to the Federation Forces.

Posted Image
Capule

Model Number: AMX-109
Overall Height: 16.5m
Base Weight: 38.7t

Quote:

An amphibious mobile suit developed for local warfare by Haman Karn's Neo Zeon forces. Derived from the Principality of Zeon's MSM-03C Hy-Gogg, it has the same kind of retractable arms. By retracting all its body parts, it can transform into a spherical cruising form, and can move at high speed both underwater and on the surface. In U.C. 0096, it returns to the seas of the Universal Century, alongside amphibious mobile suits both old and new.

Posted Image
Juaggu

Model Number: MSM-04G
Overall Height: 17.4m
Base Weight: 137.3t

Quote:

One of the specialized mobile suits developed to attack the Federation Forces' Jaburo headquarters during the One Year War. It has great firepower thanks to the triple rocket launchers in its arms and the mega particle cannons on the front of its body, and its tough armor is as strong as ever. In U.C. 0096, it attacks the Federation capital at Dakar.

Posted Image
Zogok

Model Number: MSM-08
Overall Height: 18.2m
Base Weight: 77.4t

Quote:

A mobile suit with improved melee capabilities, based on the amphibious mobile suit MSM-07 Z'Gok. It has unique armament seen in no other mobile suit, such as launchable boomerang cutters in its head, and extendable arms that can perform an "arm punch." The 17 years since the One Year War have produced new fighting techniques that place even more power in the hands that serve as its weapons.

Man am I ever happy that Unicorn has been giving these older grunts a shot on the Silver Screen. However, it is kind of funny to hear how they've been glorified in their profiles for UC. They make some of these antiques sound more powerful than they actually are. I'm sure that they're just getting the old fart UC fans fists pumping though.

That Gelgoog is fantastic! Even got the ol' SRBs on the backpack for attacking enemy warships from above! Oh man... this battle could rival my current favorite ground battle scene: Episode 4 in 0083.

A Dom would be better. A regular Dom. Basic ground mobility and a heavy weapon lend itself far better to assaulting a ship.

Then there's just the simple fact that all the very large and very active guns on a warship are typically on the TOP of it means that attacking from above is a very poor plan. Better either to have the advantage of ground mobility (a Dom) or staying in cover and moving quickly from place to place (IE - a Dom or this Gelgoog minus the boosters).

The solid rocket boosters in 0083 also didn't accomplish much to endorse their useage. The second unit equipped with them got shot before it could launch, and the other got gunned down at the apex of its arc because it slowed to basically a crawl as the upwards boost finally met with gravity and gravity said "get back down" leaving it wide open to getting shot by Kou. If the crew of the ship hadn't been most focused on retrieving the nuclear Gundam they made that Zaku would have been hosed down by AA fire the moment it cleared the bow.

Besides all that, it was aiming for the only vulnerable point on the ship -- the bridge. And since bridges retract during combat in this era of UC all possible advantages are rendered moot. It's the kind of variant that someone thinks of as being cool and maybe it was one of those weird concept models that made it into production (God knows the real world's version of Zeon [Nazis] did much of the same) but it shouldn't pose any more threat than a Tiger tank would today. Awesome looking, almost quaint in its relative antiquity, but as its ineffective weapons bounce off modern armor plating and even a relatively SMALL gun chews its armor into pieces the reasons why we introduce new models and upgrade things regularly with the full backing of a national GDP becomes obvious.

That said, I feel like I'm giving the Desert Gelgoog far too much credit by making analogies between it and a Tiger tank. This is more like the Tiger's stupid cousin who's been in the desert so long he's started tying cactuses to himself and calling himself Lord Bongo of the Leaping Flight Pandas... the poor boys just gone retarded from lack of contact, food, water, or any other resource people need to survive for any period of time.

Now the Gelgoog High Mobility would probably count as a Tiger Tank.

The hell? Where did they even get this thing? Was there a FOURTH Efreet just lying around that we never saw before? Did they build it from scratch with the same magical funding that makes a Dom 0096-current? And what's with the awful clashing color scheme of gray-blue and dull red? They do not compliment each other AT ALL. The magenta terror is trying so hard to be a ninja, too, but Efreet Nacht did a far better job of that.

I'm just waiting for this thing to get an HGUC but no Efreet Nacht or Efreet Kai, to say nothing of more worthy Zeonic MS from Unicorn 4 itself.

In the same hangar Green and Mirage Frames were hanging out in for years, I bet.

But yeah. Nacht wasn't the prettiest thing ever, but painting it pink and strapping knives to its shoulders wasn't what I'd call a fix.

And as the OVA rolls out more and more units, it becomes less and less believable that these disparate and barely surviving Zeon Remnant groups could have all these near-unique prototypes and believably maintain them for up to 16 years.

I like how they took the time to properly coordinate the colors of the daggers and their holsters with the rest of the armor plates. You have to have priorities when you're a terrorist cell that can't even guarantee you'll have a next meal.

Why not? We're already in a strange bizarro world where being defeated 3 times over (more if you include sidestories) means you have IMMENSE funding instead of being in the red, being Char makes people think you're a great leader when your only two prior movements have been led to their destruction, and 8-year old MS function worse than 16-year old ones. A massive resource-draining project creating more MS resources instead of draining them honestly doesn't seem that weird at this point.

The Schneid with a 2200kw generator and partial Gundarium armor seems to suggest it has been overhauled to a large extent, possibly by the Feds. Much like the Nacht, it maybe a recaptured mobile suit. I can't really remember whether the Nacht had been tempered by the Feds.

The Faydaeen rifles on Marasai being followed from the ZIII movie may just be to testify it is a pretty high performance mobile suit capable of high output weaponry. It was pretty much as good as the Hyakushiki spec wise.

Would be nice if the sidestories stopped using the Feds as 'that place to jack nice toys from' for the Zeeks, but meh, that's been a problem ever since 0083 let a famous zealot stroll right into Torrington and walk out with a nuke.

Although, frankly, even 'sidestory' sounds like too nice a title for Unicorn at times.

Gets a bit cartoonish at this point, doesn't it? Feds steal Zaku Mariner from Zeon. Zeon steals Zaku Mariner back from feds. Feds teal Zaku mariner again. Zeon steals Zaku Mariner back yet again. This is quite probably the exact chain that led one of these machines to where it is now.

It doesn't say anything about "Cold Kunais"?

EDIT: Oh wait, I'm assuming they gave up the cold kunais and went with the "Heat Darts". So it has 14 heat darts?!

EDIT-1: And probably 1 x Shotgun and 1 x Giant Bazooka, giving the fact that is the usual layout of some of the mobile suits.

This shit is pants on head foolish.

Okay, lets step back here for a second. Lets do some Logic 101 thinking. There's a thing in this world called "logistics". It's the supply and transport of supplies to areas as needed. Wars never won with soldiers and guns, but logistics. That is to say -- making sure soldiers have food, spare parts, ammunition, making sure soldiers have transportation, industrial bases to support this, an economy to fund it all, trucks, planes, tractors... everything falls under logistics. And while we can typically ignore the logistics behind stuff long enough to enjoy things, sometimes it just breaks the bank that was your brain.

For example, Cosmic Era. SEED. We're supposed to believe that a mere three years after a massive genocidal bloodfest there enough new soldiers, trained and experienced people to train them, ships, equipment, factories, mobile suits, mines, shipping, people, medics, and everything else required to start up a whole new genocidal bloodbath war?

But this... this shit takes the cake here. We're expected to believe that... a practically bankrupt (but not enough they can't have advanced Newtype weaponry, super-death Mobile Armors, and really pretty gold filigree and fancy uniforms) movement supported by various terrorist/guerilla cells who have had no support in terms of equipment, parts, and everything else are capable of doing this. And on top of this these guys just HAPPEN to have all these oddball prototype machines lying around that were FORGOTTEN? "Oops I seem to have left my multi-billion dollar prototype lying around" x100?

And then on TOP of this disbelief, we're supposed to believe they have enough financial support to purchase new technology and armor, that they have a reliable technological base to use said things to upgrade their machines to completely new standards (consider that they have to gut cockpits and anything not already UMP compatible has to be brought up to speed) which includes: Mechanics, engineers, and man hours. Lots and lots of work. This is assuming they can purchase this stuff, which is already assuming they have an incredibly diverse and reliable smuggling network which can bring this stuff to these people in remote locations on earth from places like Anaheim Electronics ON THE FRIGGIN MOON and the Federation just somehow never noticed?

With the icing on the cake supposed to be that we believe that these guys can not only do this, but that they can rack up higher kill counts than Karn the Betrayer on a bloodfit?

Pull the other one Unicorn.

I was playing Senki 0081 just then and encountered some Federation captured Z'Goks in the Atlantic ocean stage. Recapturing units was really the way to go, even on stage one we had to capture a Zaku and GM.

The Marasais and Base Jabbers must have been left behind after the Neo Zeon conflict. They did consolidate Titans after all. Honestly I only remembered this point from the Mirage of Zeon manga as while the ZZ TV did touch on military and political affairs, the slapstick overshadowed it.

I almost missed the Zaku Desert Type pulling the Garenceries. I think in the novel the Desert Zaku assumed the role and may have also partook in the battles.

I could see at least 2 Zaku Cannons, one of which was cannon-less followed by one that accompanied Doms.

There were 4 transport ships according to the dialogue, all the non SFS ground mobile suits must have came from there.

It would be good if someone could spot a desert colored plain GM II. It would be a lie if they said it appeared onscreen as stated on web exclusive HGUC Gunpla.
