Well who are those two handsome chaps on that photo? *aaaa*
There were deer all over the place and I managed 4 over the weekend so I was stoked with that and as I got both buck and doe Muntie that is another one that can be crossed off the list. *Monkey Hanger*
It was a great time and our hosts were just fantastic, so thanks to Lee and Trevor. *thanx*

As to me being ill, I have just got back from the Doctors and it is an inner ear infection, I feel like I'm drunk all the time, wobbling all over the place, room spinning and all that! *vomit* Been told that I can't drive for a while and that I could be off work for up to a month, Yea right *flying pig*

I will add my photo's later, I need to down load them first.. *lol*

Congratulations JR and DM. Looks like you had a great time. I don't know if you kept any of the meat but muntjac venison must be the best tasting of the lot!

Wow! some weekend, great going.

One day we may have some around, recently heard they are appearing on Thorne moors.

I was supposed to be stalking in Scotland Monday to today but came home yesterday, a couple of meat pies for lunch on the first day left me with a pretty memorable case of food poisoning. Still had a couple of deer on the only day I did stalk though. I left one 'safely' hung in a tree overnight to find a pine marten had eaten best part of a hauch by the next morning!

Mudman, they're closer to you than that mate, the only one that I have ever seen in Yorkshire was near Hull. I will not divulge where on an open forum but you can always pm me. It may have just been an odd one but I can assure you that it was a muntie.

I hope that you feel better soon mate. As to the Pine Martin, would it help to have it hung by a rope so that the wild cats can't grab it from a branch or would they manage that anyway? ***hmmm**

Well me D.M., rabbit killer, and max had these boys up to yorkshire for a return trip.
And what a time they had.
Gadget shot 3 bucks all 6 pointers and a fox, sorry 1 was a 7 and probably bronze.
Lee shot 3 bucks 2x 6 and a pricket, and missed a big buck.So they had a great time.
My camera(still) has been playing up so photos on phones and it will take a wee while to get them e mailed to me so will post all when I have them.
Great meeting them boys again and thanks to the helpers.
1 other thing Breeze tracked in the block forest a gut shot roe buck for a 150m's, an hour after it was shot and pointed it 35ft laid ahead under a fallen tree still looking at us and very alive in torch light where it was shot again. this was all done under the trees in the dark with us just with headlamps on.
A most excellent follow up which would have been impossible in good light without a dog.

Any particular reason why it was an hour after been shot or did breeze take that long to find it....
With it been gut shot i would have thought it would have been a priority to find it ASAP..

PS not having a dig just curious as i have never done any stalking..

Hawkeye I was on my way home with trevor when my phone rang rabbit killer with his guest had lost the buck on another estate so I had to turn around and go look for them and the deer.
20-30minutes is the reccommended time for a gut shot deer.
this was over an hour and dark when I recieved the phone call we had been out of signal until we left the hills where we had been stalking. *Monkey Hanger*
