Had this youth lined up a few times things not right so just happy to film him.
Today things were different and he was in the right place at the wrong time.
102m's ranged and if you look behind him you can see the bullets exit on the tree stump.
I told the client to pin him as there is a big drop within the tree line and I didn't want to have a runner go over the top.
He was over the bank having gone about 12m's with both front legs broken and very dead.
What a carry out 45lb clean.

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares? ....... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!

Just got back from another fantastic couple of days in Scotland, had a buck down within 30 minutes of arriving. He went 52 lbs head and legs on, by far the biggest I have shot in Scotland. In comparison the three previous bucks I have taken there were 32.5, 25 and 18.5 lbs.

Had a bit of concern with the hot weather and the flies, but we have a big cool box at the caravan so I quartered the carcasse and then went down to Tesco's for three bags of ice. Opened up the cool box again 48 hrs later (this morning) and the meat was in great nick, albeit sat now in iced water.

Weather was fantastic, caught a bit too much sun today!

Coming back over the A66 and almost next to the Appleby horse fair a wagon had shed part of its load of poultry guts on the road. A single council workman was looking at the pile rather thoughtfully as he lent on his shovel, not the sweetest of jobs in 24 oC, wonder what excuses his mates had made to dodge that job!.
