Silver Medal Roebuck

My brother shot this buck at the beginning of the season in a typical Yorkshire Wolds chalk valley. He was by far the biggest we had taken in the area and although by no means huge we were told that it may make a bronze. I visited the Scone game fair last weekend and took it along to be measured, at 118 points it made a Silver medal.

The head was the one I showed you both in the car park of the pub in Driffield. He had a face full of lead shot if you remember (only two lodged in the bone though otherwise it may have made Gold!). Its not too clear in the photo but the LHS antler is much larger than the RHS, with a very long front tine.

I will get a photo of the trophy but its back with my brother now so it will not be posted soon.
