I have seen (before the weather change) many bucks accompanying does BUT no rut other then tush sniffing.
This morning no deer moving so I gave 3 feips and a pause of 2 minutes then another feip to have a mature doe burst out of cover on her own.
She came up to 35m's and stood and tested the air only to melt away.
I held out my hand to show the client my shakes he responded showing his uncontrolable tremble.
PRICELESS. *dance*

Out yesterday (for the first time in 9 weeks - finally got the all clear on Friday) and watched a lot of chasing, running in circles and sniffing but nothing else. Had 4 bucks in one uncut meadow with two does - we are now 1 buck less and I have to sort out the rest later in the week. Saw 11 roe yesterday morning on the same 250 acres ground. The bucks are savaging a new plantation so they have to be reduced.

a little bit of both but the best one was a doe chasing a buck in figure of eight circles for about 10 minutes. One big buck saw off a couple of smaller ones but the does were doing their fair share. The best buck was at the other end of the farm and was following a doe verey closely. I wouldn't be suprised if we had a warm humid afternoon this week if it didn't get underway, they seem awfully interested but without commitment - bit like us men really !!!
