Having got myself up and running with the driving school I decided a week off to do some shooting wouldn't go amiss so took the week commencing 02 Aug.

Monday I visited the first permission found a good buck that will rival the gold I shot last year and promptly spooked one of his does that was loitering out of my sight and missed the chance.

Tuesday I was offered a day on wheat stubble for pigeons only took four in six hours but did knock over 30 crows. The pigeons were coming but I was shooting poorly (understatement) Pullinghair***

Weds Went to a newish permission and took a mature buck, reasonable head going back and he tasted fine on the BBQ Sunday (No photo as my phone was dead)

Thurs went back for the big buck on mondays outing and found him after an hour or so but couldn't get a safe shot despite trying for hours he was busy following does up and down a hedgeline that backs onto a farmhouse and wouldn't move away. I'll get him soon ***goooodd****

Friday went to another permission and walked into a buck within 20 mins no real stalking required just under the gate a 5 m crawl onto the pod and slip a 100 gr sp through his heart at 110m

Don't worry Iv'e had a very changable rut due to the cold wet weather.
Then when we have found bucks .... misses. -HB-
1 buck this morning missed twice by such a margin he and the 2 does never moved, I then stopped play as the chance of wounding was to great. -Eat Lead-
Me and a very disapointed client stalked back out from the deer.
A check of the sights they were o.k.
Bucks fever again.
More misses then deer this rut, 9 misses and 7 bucks since 1st august never had anything like this before.
