Well out this morning on an armed recon looking for and counting does. Max met me at my house at 06.05 and after a cuppa we headed off. On the way there we chatted and decided on a breif. Any buck was to be taken as I have an order to fill and would not be back on this ground for bucks. Obviously foxes were also to be shot on sight. Just before we arrived in the gloom of my lights a jogger apeared wearing a high viz.......Wan**r Max said and I chuckled Well we got there at crack of daylight and had a quick ride round NOTHING was moving, not even any hares???? So I dropped max off in the "hot spot" and went further onto the estate for a ride around (4000 acre). I had agreed to pick him up at 8.30. Well after a ride and a walk it was time to pick him up. All I had seen was 4 deer over my boundry about 500m's looked like a family unit. Getting back for max at 8.35 there was no sign I peered down the banking and no luck. I rang him, I've just gralloched 1 he said a big Ba5tard, just got him in the roe sack don't know how long i will be comming up that fooking bank. So i waited and waited, eventually there was movement the old git was in view, I set the camera up and started filming. STRONG LANGAUGE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwLS-_2nLSQ Well he made it with a little help and after catching his breath and a fag we got some photos of the old warriors together. Both managed a smile. he was very attractive to the ladies as he was surrounded by 6 females (the buck not MAX) ![]() ![]() Larder weight was 42lb, so he was a big lad. p.s.this was YDS's 100th deer this year.

He who shoots the hare carries the hare, it stands for bucks as well if you shoot them for free, he could have paid an outing fee then I'd have helped sooner. The only reason I helped at all was I had to be back home for the chimney sweep. LOL |

Well I've been with Robbo and Max today and let me tell you the pi55 taking was relentless! All at Max's expense. When we packed up shooting, we went for a pint and in the pub car park we stumbled across Max's new mode of transport for getting around the estates and for all those tiresome, uphill journeys when he needs to recover a deer from miles away! Unfortunately when we left it had gone so he couldn't have a test drive on it (we did try to get a photo of Max stood next to it but he was a bit reluctant) So I have trawled the net and found THIS All it needs is some all terrain tires on it and he will be away. It has a nice cover for when the weather is inclement, lights for night time work(lamping) and I think you can also get, as an added extra, an ashtray for all his fag buts!

Maybe Max could use one of these new stalking chariots I've found! ![]() I notice the model in the picture is wearing a pair 'Stalking Slippers', warm enough for winter hunting and quiet enough for the last couple of yards into the deer!

Could it be adaped for foxing scraggie ? Maybe a lamp and a shooting rail. And the company expenses will not stretch to one for him he will have to put his tips towards one. We could always steel the one at the pub and convert it. |
