I had a successful trip to Scotland and returned with 2 Roe and a Red deer (out of season license). The Red was shot plum broadside at 50 yards, direct heart shot in and out with matching entry/exit wounds. Skinned it last night and the flank/ shoulder/exit area was full of green, a right mess and I had to write off the entire front end of the carcasse, on a Red thats alot of meat to chuck away, only managed to save the loins and hauches for myself, I can only think that a bit of rib bone shrapnel had punctured the oesophagus and the vacuum behind the bullet had dragged the gut contents out through the exit and also into the muscle structure of the shoulder and flank. Was a bit peed off to say the least.

Apart from that it was a good trip, snowed alot, a bit like winter over again up there.

Hmm, aw well if thats the worst thing that ever happens then you'll be ok, sounds like you had a good weekend though mate.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares? ....... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
