Tomorrows the big day,
having them done tomorrow morning.
I have worn glasses full time since I was 10, so if i'm im luck tonight (or if I go back for that buck in the early hours should be my last hunt with glasses on.
Never even fired a gun without them.
Will I have to re-learn to shoot?
They promise me 20/20 vision.
Should be life changing.
Wish me luck guys I'm a little nervous.

John you don't need luck the procedure is very straightforward and as you know performed very frequently, I know half a dozen people who have been through it and ALL said it was far easier and less traumatic than they thought it might be - you'll be fine. *Monkey Hanger* Shooting will be far easier especially in the rain, and you'll be spotting deer even more efficiently.

Well an up-date.
After a very uncomfortable afternoon, the evening went better.
I walked the dogs at dusk when the light was going and it did me some good, the more I blinked the better my vision became and they felt better to.
Sleeping on the sofa, sat up. I awoke this morning and recoiled when I opened my eyes, CHRIST I could see. Then my eyes began to dry and it slipped slightly.
When Sue my wife got up and administered my drops.
The day went nicely, and as it went my vision began to sharpen. From 8ft-10ft-50ft.
12.30 arrived and saw me at the opticians, he checked me and passed me to drive.(i couldn't even see the dash without my glasses before) WOW.
He also said I was suffering from dry eyes and prescribed more drops X4 sorts, X4 times a day and than a gel for sleep time makes 5.
When my eyes are moist and feeling well, I can see very well then they dull off.
They said probably a week will pass before they can assess if I will get the full 20/20 vision but i'm hopefull.
Thanks again for your support and I will keep you all posted.

Joking aside for a minute. My right eye currently has better vision in it then I ever had with my glasses on. My left is still a wee bit cloudy, which is odd as yesterday it was the better eye of the two. Hope they both are good tomorrow as i'm foxing first thing.

Well eye test yesterday.

I my left eye still has a small prescription which may correct itself but is enough for me to wear glasses for driving until next week when I have a re test.

My right is very good but not quite 100% which may or may not improve the other 10% with time.

So back in a week, They will monitor me for up to 2 months while my eyes settle enough to say - more treatment.

I will go back under the laser if needed but could not do it for 2 months anyway as I am too busy rearing poults/stalking in july and calling bucks in august.

So glasses for driving and early morning stalking for a while, i can live with that a while longer after 34 years it makes no odds, at least there is still hope.

well my latest eye test today.

legal to drive now in both eyes.

right almost 20/20 and left has improved by 2 lines making my prescription -1.5

so a big improvement in the last two weeks.

eyes still a little dry so some different drops which should improve my vision even more.

a month now till re test so if keeps improving no re-procedure.

not the quick fix I hoped but still promising.
