After considerable thought and after just applying for my licence, I wondered if anybody could offer me some advice on what a good reasonably cheap shotgun would be to start with ? Extremely green and looking for assistance Cheers |

Shotgun's are normally easy to get licensed Best starting place is your local Sunday Clay Shoot Most run coaching schemes Most Also have loan Shotgun's So you can try before thinking which one you want to buy Most Shotgunners start via clay's As with FAC Air you need to have a legal place to Shoot and land needs to be authorised for Shotgun Use Check out basc web site for more information www.basc.org.uk Shotgun's can be reasonable & expensive Most Shotgunners have several Starter Gun's and better ones as they use them more. Now must get ready for my Sunday Clay Shoot........ BOB/R |

My first shotgun i bought was a rizzini sporting, it just felt good to handle, and i used it all the time. Then i bought a remmington 1187 mainly for wildfowling as the rizzini wouldnt take certain cartridges, and even though it was the better gun- i continued to use the rizz all the time because i was so used to it. So i would say, dont spend all your money on a gun that someone else says is a "good un" try a few out for yourself. There are some decent cheap guns out there, i know, i bought one! :) |
