Had an early finish from work so got changed and headed down to the farm for a few ferals to feed the ferrets.![]() Not a great deal on the farm buildings, and i soon noticed them pecking around in the middle of the fields. ![]() So it was a matter of waiting around for them all to come back and start to feed on the spilled wheat that litters part of the farm yard. They soon started coming in and landing on the top of the old buildings. Saw a nice chance arrise, 30 yds out..... ![]() And some shot that was :D ![]() They continued throughout the afternoon coming in in small droves, and every time they landed...another one fell In the end a nice 11 ferals ![]() And the last shot of the afternoon was a belter! 4 pigeons landed on top of the wheat tower, and all i could see was the chest/heads, i rested against the corner of a wall, lined them up with a RWS Hobby in the barrel..."crack" not one, but 2 pigeons fell, dead before they even touched the ground! I have never done that before, or seen anyone else do it either B) Straight through one's neck and through the others head! And then it was time to go home and feed the ferrets. ![]() A great afternoon!

Neil, I'll tell you what, something made an awful mess of that head, and the shot pigeon isn't much better !! I have downloaded your picture, it's framed up and on the mantle piece it's very useful 'cos - (all together now) IT KEEPS THE KIDS OFF THE FIRE !! Nice shooting my friend. photopro |

nice shooting neil! Its always pretty to find a field with pigeons. On the farm I shoot, lots of pigeons too. 1 problem, the farmer keeps pigeons himself, so I always have to look very carefully to find pig without a ring! on the roof its not a problem, but in the field sometimes.....  :ph43r: |
