Feral shooting; Not as many as expected

Went to a customer of mine this evening to shoot a few ferals under a loading bay. When I arrived I looked around the cladded area and was amazed to see no ferals at all :o . I went around to the other side of the building and shot half a dozen on the roof. I then went back to the loading bay to find ONE pigeon sat right beside the broken part of the cladding where they come in. One clean head shot put it on the deck, and I searched across all the steel work a little bewildered by the lack of activity. I could see something in the shadows high in the corner, but could not make out what it was. I raised my gun to look down the scope to get a better view and saw that it was a kestrel! *aaaa* (I think I have identified it correctly, but I'm no expert with birds of prey). No wonder most of the pigeons have gone :(
O.k. it makes the job easier, but I can't show the customer decent results when there's hardly anything to shoot. Pullinghair*** Pullinghair*** -HB-

I know the problem, sometimes i can shoot as much ferals as i want, another day i am lucky if i see 2.
Beware of the man with only one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

james i know how you feel mate but i suppose you have to look at it as you were only their to reduce the number of ferals which you have obviously done as you can see a reduction in your bag etc.im surew they wont mind and they will realise you are still doing a good job because they wont be getting as much trouble off the ferals?
keep it up mate your doing a good job *good*

I suppose if it was a kestrel, then the ferals would be a bit weary of it, if it was a sparrowhawk, they certainly wouldnt hang around.
They should come back, unless the said bird of prey is nesting.
keep at em! :D

I havent been at the ferals for a while now, but the break should make them settle,
We shot there a bit too much 6 weeks ago, the birds started flying off as soon as the car drove up the drive.
Looking forward to going back though! **sniper**

What a day, at 8 on the field, at 9.30 in the car hiding for the rain  , at 11 on the field, at 13.00 again hide *jump* , and from 14.30 again shooting til 18.00 *dance*
The result for 8 guns around the field: 638 pigeons!!!! on a field 2 km length and 800m wide. standing 2/2/2/1/1.
On the place where I was standing: 141 empty shells on the left B) and 32 on the right **spam** .
they where flying low and fast, the way I like it -Eat Lead-
A day like I want one every week!

There are still a lot of woody's left. Becouse of the bird fleu this winter, there was no shooting on pigeons, pheasant, partridge etc, that made that the whole 100% stock could breed this year, so there are loads of them, never seen so many before. When the wheater... we go back thuesday **sniper**
But it seems that its gonna rain all week :(
