Ring the police, get put through to firearms licencing and ask for a form. It's that easy. *good* |

Legally, you dont need land to get a SGC, but a reason for wanting it will be asked by the FLO who comes to visit. The first time i applied for mine, i told them that i only wanted to use it for clay pigeon shooting, this wasn't really that far from the truth as i was doing a lot of this at the time. Just make sure you have a police approved gun cabinet - and as long as you have been a good boy through life and not been convicted of any crimes involving wepons - you will be issued one. Ohh yea, and £50 will need to be parted from your wallet to pay for plod to do a few checks on you. :D |

The land issues are not a problem as I see it, just as long as that land has been approved for shooting FAC guns.. If you were to both own a License then I cant see why you would need seperate cabinates, unless you had a FAC and the wife did'nt..! FAC is not this big issue getting it, remember, you have the right to have one, so long as you have been lawfull! :) |

As far as shotguns are concerned both you and your wife can use the same cabinet. If only you hold an FAC you will need a separate cabinet for them. If your wife also was to be granted an FAC all the section one firearms would have to be on both certificates. |

Rabbit control is enough.. also put down a .17HMR you will love it, and the FLO will be happy with that too, the Police push the HMR's due to the safety aspect.. |

Just for the record. if you belong to a shooting club... you will defently have a better chance of less questions and being granted a FAC.. the SGC is no big issue.. but the FAC is.. the plod now are wanting most people to apply for a .17 first.. then a .22 however I dont agree with this.. anyway a rifle club is always a good start if you feel you want a bit more umpth for your application. |

Don't forget if you are applying for FAC to put your sound mods on the application. It can get expensive if you forget. *good* |
