Not really built like a horse, more like a large Pony
My front garden was like a lake right accross to my sons,
our houses are slightly lower than the road so it became a natural runoff.
Sorry no pictures as things got a bit "Hairy" for a time.
We were looking at moving stuff up higher as it crept up to within a quarter of an inch
of the top of the step.
Luckily i kept the pump when i got rid of the pond, so we rigged it up and pumped it back onto the road.
Kept it running untill 11pm and it did just manage to keep it at bay untill the rain eased.
Hope the rest of you were as "Lucky" and didnt get problems..

cheers Sutty *good* *fish4*

Not quite as bad as you Sutty, front garden flooded, back garden six inches deep,
lucky we have a high step! I went out at six a.m. to lift my ferret cages onto
pallets, and it's a good job I did, or they would have been flooded out! As it was,
I thought I'd given them enough waterproofing, but it turned out that I hadn't.
Loads of upset ferrets this morning - so I made sure they hada warm bath, and
kept them indoors while I spent most of the day drying the cages out!
The back garden is still flooded, but not too bad! At one point, I thought the
toilet was going to overflow, 'cos the drains were backing up!

God i saw the News, its real bad.

Hope you guys are OK, we never got it bad. My aunties land got flooded becuase the river tees runs through it and it burst its banks. Its a good job the house if quite far away.

I went down to the river today and 50+ duckbords had floated down the river and got stuck on a fallen tree. They will be used on the farm, or burned in the open fire :)
