I can't see you using wildfowling shot for anything else due to price. Maybe one of the wildfowling guys can tell you which is the best load depending on your quarry. |

Right where to start, First if you dont have to use a non toxic shot then dont as just for instance 36gm ITM "tungsten shot" cartridges £36 for 25 so as you see when you compare Non tox to lead at under a fiver for 25 you only want to be using non toxic cartridges when you reeeeeeeeeeelly have to. Tungsten, Bismouth & Hevi shot all well expensive cartridges. But if you have to you have to also you dont say chamber of 12gauge. you can get 36gm 2 3/4" cartridges in non toxic or 3" magnum if your shotgun is chambered for mag. If so upto about 44 - 46 gram for a 3" mag cartridge but once again bigger cartridge more shot more dosh. Just remember 1 no.2 or bb will kill a goose or duck in the right place so you dont have to go for a cannon round. Have you thought about steel for your non toxic shot, there are some superb fast steel cartridges out there for not much more than lead shot. Good luck anyway, hope this lot helps somewhat.
