Got to the farm for 9am he told me where they were hitting the wheat, the land was to wet to drive my motor so asked him to get the tractor out and take me it was bloody miles (Pro if you remember the field i was in when we shot the 100 crows last year it was the far side of that) bloody miles from the farm buildings.
He helped me to carry the gear up the last wheat field all the birds were on the next field over that was grass and had just been silaged. Trouble was it belonged to the next door farm.
He said it would be OK and he would ring them and tell them when he got back to the farm.
Got the hide set up so i was stood in a ditch and the action began straight away the farmer stayed with me for the first half hour.
Started badly could not hit a bloody thing i was useing the O/U as my semi auto FABARMS (same as Sutty's) is completely knackered.
It sheared the cocking lever off the other week that was just the start of things to come.

Last Sunday when scaffy was cleaning it ( with my help ) he makes a better job than me.
He noticed the metal frame was split where the shells eject from and on closer inspection most of the cocking system inside was covered with hairline cracks so it went back monday morning.

Any way my cartridge to kill ratio was running at 6 to 1 at the start then got my act together ended up fireing 127 carts for 70 kills so pulled it back.

Took a photo will put it up later ended the day with 67 blackones and 3 woodies...

At the end of the day there was one happy farmer *dance* *dance* *dance* *dance* *crow* *crow*

It always seems straight forward going from one gun to another but it isn't. Especially from and auto or a S/S to an O/U. Didn't the cocking lever shear last year ?

I do like the crows. With airgun only the bags are never high but I have sussed the sitty trees out and they do take a knocking.
I want to build permanant hides and will ask the guvnor when the F&M crisis is over.
