After speaking to Hawkeye, and him showing me his ????? Hushpower shotgun that is, I decided to get one. I bought it from Northallerton at the weekend a Mossberg 410 Hushpower. I tried it out last Sunday night at my permission on Hudswell area near Richmond. Previously walking through the field near the river, several Rabbits bolted from me in the long grass, and i couldn't get a shot off with the 22LR. Not this time though, :D The Hushpower was great three rabbits bolted right in front of me about ten yards away and three shots later they were hits. Very pleased with the Shotgun, it says in the mnanual that after 50- 100 rounds the silencer will be even qiueter, thats good. I am pleased bought it B) |

I have fitted a silencer to my old 410 b/a 3" but being a naughy boy run on hotter carts but it silences it a bit - bit long but great little gun. I find with both moderater shotties some days I can take a shot and then walk 50 m away take the next shot. On some tree shots it puts up a surround sound so often birds will land in the same tree - saves a walk to the next tree. Have fun.
B) Being light I often carry the 410 and have a 22lr inverted on one shoulder - so if say a bunny comes up less then 30m or an elevated shot I use the 410 but at say 60m I have time to swop and take it out with the 22lr. |

The 410 is not much quieter than the 12g, bigger load - cheaper carts, so I bought my hushpower s/b 12g for £100 off guntrader. The only time I notice the difference in noise is firing out of the truck passenger window with and without a moderator - apparently so I'm informed it's worse if you forget to open it. One local 4x4 dealer had a chap come in to p/x his truck, he said," the old one had done him well over the years , but it now had a couple of holes in the roof". " something dropped on it ?" the dealer enquired. " no - put the gun on the seat not latched - and the dog jumped in" - true. |

Hi Neil, Yes the masive moderator does come as standard I believe. I think you can purchase a seperate 410 umnoderated barrel as well if you want. I have certainly seen advertised recently a 12 G Mossberg Hushpower with both barrels. It seems pefect for what is designed for, close range shots at fleeing foe. :ph43r: |
