"LA LUCE DELLA LUNA CACCIATORE"

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON. This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please. Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy gas on a certain day' campaign that was going around last April or May! It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!! I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer, and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to 'hurt' ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us! By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.19 for regular unleaded in my town. Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers. With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. & nbsp; But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all! (If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one. How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more peopl e within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days !!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK. Keep it going!!! |

This WON'T work! Think about it!!! There are more than just 2 companies and ALL their oil is generally sent through OPEC etc to be sold to the refineries etc so you never know WHO'S oil your petrol is made from! To bring oil prices down there are only a few things can be done! One would be EVERYONE take a bike to work for a few weeks and I mean EVERYONE (preferably the whole of Europe and the US to get the message across! Highly unlikely! Another is to give them a Tax incentive! Drop the tax bracket if they promise to also bring oil prices back into line with the 80s but the Government make too much from them to really care about this! 50% of what the companies make by pumping the crude goes to the UK government! Then they place a Fuel duty about 46p in every 70p at the pumps THEN they have the cheek to charge VAT too at about 14p the retailer makes 3p per litre profit and the rest is the TRUE cost of Petrol! If the Government was to drop Taxation or Levy on the Crude being pumped out of the sea bed etc then petrol stations would be able to drop their prices! Fuel is at the price it is because this Government charge extortionate taxes on it so bouycotting a Fuel supplier is NOT the answer in the long run! The people who NEED the ass kicking is non other than our own Government! Oh I just remembered you CAN'T demonstrate to show them your dissatisfaction either unless you apply for a permit to demonstrate first within so many meters of Parliament or you will get arrested! Seems they are trying to seew up every avenue of protest B) |

realy cant see why it wouldnt work if we all didnt buy from bp garages first they would drop prices to get customers back then we return to them and then buy there fuel only when the price has droped then boycot lets say esso garages until they in turn have to drop prices to get customers back customer power would do it imo but we would all have to stick together, and that would be unlikely :( kirky

In America maybe, but in the UK not a chance, about 75p of the price of a ltr is Govt duty. They want that amount per ltr, regardless of the cost. Its the Govt that are screwing us, not the oil companies. Tell your Conservative MP's that if they lower the prices of fuel to that of America then we will vote for them, then you might get somewhere! :D |

There was a UK version of this E-Mail a short while ao...... It named BP & ESSO. I'd be more than happy if we had to pay the US price for our motion-lotion. They're still paying by the gallon. I remember when our garages changed their pricing unit from gallon to litre, as it made the price look cheaper - that was when it soured to £1 to gallon. £1.05/lt = £4.77/UK Gal = £5.73/US fl Gal = $11.64/US fl Gal |

Having a go at Petrol companies is pointless! As I have said before the price of fuel is affected 100% by our GOVERNMENT Work it out 50% of all money made by the Oil companies is paid to the Government (corperation tax I beleive it's called) Then another 50 odd% is paid in fuel duty at the pumps Then about 18p per LITRE in VAT You can see just how much the Government are creaming here and it's not the fault of the Petrol companies Bouycotting of petrol stations will only affect the poor people running the place NOT the oil companies as the Companies may have their names on the pumps but the guy running it has to BUY the franchise so effectivley he has to buy the petrol and Diesel from the producers and makes a measley 3p per litre profit Why do you think nearly all petrol stations have to sell Food Cigarettes Sweets etc? It's to actually make enough money to pay their staff! You want someone to blame then look NO FURTHER than the people you voted into office! |

BP profit £8.7bn Exxon + Shell profit £20bn Now just bear with me here If they made £28.7 billion between them in PROFIT in one year then the prices before profit must also be huge!! Now remember the same pre profit amount these people make the Governments make in Corperation Tax! Also the Dept of Transport estimates there are 31 207 000 cars lorries buses bikes etc on the UK roads Now lets just assume ALL motorists use only 10 litres per WEEK for each vehicle! thats 312070000 litres a WEEK. At an average of £107.9 thats £33 672 353 000 a week on Fuel! Thats an average estimate of £23 570 647 100 a week in Taxation to the government. Thats £23.5 BILLION a week in fuel taxation alone! though it WILL be higher as I only accounted for the 10 litres a week! Then if you like you can also add up the Road fund license revenue as well as the Insurance premium tax and road tolls etc etc This government make an OBCENE amount from the UK Motorist so if you want to protest to get any reduction in Fuel costs you really need to start with the Government and their Fuel Duty! |

Found it .... (the E-Mail that is), it was received on 19/11/2007. ............................................................................................ Boycott BP & Esso petrol Please read it all then make your own mind up! See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting £1.05p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1.50p a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy petrol on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. BOYCOTT BP AND ESSO! ............................................................................................. |

The only way anything like this will work is if we do not buy petrol. However you achieve this is immaterial. I spend about £15 a week on fuel, if indeed that! This is because I either walk or cycle wherever possible. It is possible for me to cycle to work and walk into the town when I need to. This not only keeps me fit and provides exercise but it also means I spend less on fuel. People who come up with these schemes rarely get out of their car and walk or cycle. THIS IS THE ONLY SOLUTION!!!! |
