I've had quite a bit of sucess at one particular area, there's a chain link fence round an oil field near me, where the rabbits dig just under the fence i attach the wires to the fence and also use the wires on a wire tealer (bought in) that are set on o worn patch not between, I make all my own snares and pegs. I got a few tips from a chap in Scotland named Glen Walters i saw one of his videos then got in touch with him, very knowledgeable bloke been all over the world trapping and snaring. Normally go snaring in the winter months i put the snares down early morning (about 100 wires) then go off ferreting, go back and check them before dark and take any rabbits out, and return early morning do a round collecting rabbits then go round again collecting the wires, you should leave them out for longer but you need to check them twice a day so it takes up a lot of time when you're 45 mins from the ground. The best i ever done in one stint was 27 and also lost a few to charlie just the heads left. Last time out i had a couple of rabbits taken and just the intestines were left, never found out what took them. I'll try and put some pics of the setup i use.
If a politician told me he was lying i would'nt believe him.

Cheers

Cannot get the pics to fit so i will post after this post.
As you can see i use a wire tealer that i buy in, the snare wire i make up myself (6 strand) and the pegs are cut from Chestnut fencing. The knot on the end of the wire is wrapped around the tealer and when the rabbit is snared pulls up to the loop in the tealer and acts as a swivel instead of the wire twisting and breaking. The knot in the baleing string half way up is so you can put your mallet into it and pull the peg out. Obviously the peg has to be hammered into the ground. I set the snare in the middle of the worn patch (beat) where the rabbit will land, not in between the beats and not on the longish ones with rabbit pellets on. The other pic shows how to set a snare on sheep wire netting or any other wire fencing thats the right height, its fixed with two half hitches and if a rabbit is caught the half hitches will tighten up. All this info was given to me by Glen Walters.
