Just recently started making my own purse nets, couple of useful web sites that I've found, are

This one

and This one

If you're interested in making hammocks, then this one might be useful too.

Also, if you are interested in making your own ropes/twines, then this might e useful.

It's 4ply Linen, our lass got me it from a mill in West Yorkshire. It's slightly thicker than 4ply Hemp, and half the price. I'm making a few nets up and I'll see if it's any good.

Go ferreting every day of the year if you want, fishbomb. Some people say not to eat rabbit if there is no 'R' in the month, because the meat is 'milky' but it doesn't taste any different to me, an I'll just bet the ferrets couldn't care less.

the main reason for not ferreting in late spring to the end of the summer is that when there is young rabbits under ground ferrets will kill the young rabbits and stay underground block etc and much digging has to be done

i will start again late october or there abouts

Another point against ferreting in the summer is that the ticks seem much more abundant. Went with some mates about 6 weeks ago and he got 22 ticks from his hob the next day and 14 off each of his jills!
