I got asked to supply some mesh tunnels for Fenn traps a few weeks back. These are the proto-types we came up with that are now out for test.

There are two different heights; one that clears the sprung trap so you can use it on hard surfaces like concrete. The other is lower to allow a trap to be 'bedded in' on soft soil surfaces.

I hope you are successful 14A however I'm not sure why the mesh would be an advantage over a solid wooden tunnel.
The mesh could allow twigs, stones etc to fall onto the trap - they often need to be disguised / partially buried under rubbish. Traps and caught prey would be visible to anyone walking past. **Rat03**
It is common practise to anchor the chain on the trap to the tunnel the mesh tunnels could be so light they would be dragged for quite some distance.
However like I said the best of luck producing them. *good*

I have to agree - for my own use it's wooden or 'natural' every time.

This was a specific case where the lad in question needed to use a relatively large number of traps and wanted something lighter to carry round.

Being mesh they will lack the dark 'tunnel' effect which usually adds to the function so he will need to cover them with sacks or similar and maybe bait them too. Up against walls where the rats are already running will also improve his chances.

Having said all that though, Bodygrip traps are generally used in wire mesh cubbies so maybe they may do better than we think.

I'll report back when I hear.
