I chrono'd my ammo the other month but didn't get round to posting the results,so here we are. I think its obvious that chronoing catapults is going to vary from person to person, because of the different styles of shooting, strength and length of individuals pull and the length and age of the bands. It should be noted that the bands on the catty for this chrono had been cut down by 2"-3" and were a good 3 years old,so im hoping for better results in the future. My catty chrono set up (i don't want to be buying a new one :D ) ![]() ![]() One of the fastest shots ![]() And finally the results, as you can see the fastest shot was 130.7fps which works out as 6.87 flbs more than enough for ratting and approaching rabbit stopping power at close range. ![]() I think different calibres are in order for future testing, maybe something a bit smaller like a .380 :) |

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares? ....... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!

So the smaller green catapult (slingshot) was your manufacture Fish ? He certainly thought much more of it than the Saunders Hawke, I couldn't believe how far back he pulled the Hawke back, no wonder he wore safety specs !! photopro |
