Bushnell 6500 Elite 4-30x50mm Scope
Pes T12 sound Mod
Harris 6"-9" Tilt Bipod
Feeding it 95grn Winchester/Nosler Combined technology heads & Varget ( for deer)

Only just had this - so will comment on how it is performing in a couple of months.

Although it did drop a dog and a vixen yesterday evening @ 140/150yrds ( 2 shots - one after ther other  :D )

Come on tulky I see you look in still hows it perfoming.
Or do you wish you had,nt changed it??? *rolleyes*

Hi John,
It seems to be performing quite well - i have changed the load to to 87grn Hornadys, 37grn of varget & Remmington primers and it is shooting 1 hole groups at the moment ( 3 round groups).
It has dropped a few Munties, Roe and quite a lot of Charlies so far and i will be testing it on the fallow at the end of the month.
As to whether i should of changed, well thats another matter *rolleyes*

I've swapped my scope on the .243 and inturn put the scope from that onto the .308 but still using the same rifles. Why change what's working for me?

Remmy 700 BDL with a 'Bell & Carlson' stock,Timney trigger and T8 mod. in .243cal using 100grn Remington Core-Lokt(soft points) on top is a 6-24x56mm Zeiss illuminated.

I use this mainly for deer, but,if Charlie steps out then bad luck for him, but,I do have a dedicated foxing rifle which is a Ruger M77VT in .204cal which I use the same T8 mod. on.I am going to be making a couple of changes to this rifle this year.......new stock and scope to start with,it has an after market trigger(Rifle Basix)which is very very good, infact I find it hard to tell the difference from the Timney.I am hoping to get a S&B 8x56mm illuminated, and, maybe an H&S or another B&C stock or the equivalent, the laminate stock is very heavy, that combined with the heavy barrel makes this rifle extremely heavy although I have never bothered to weigh it.

The H4350 certainly gets good write-ups have you tried the similar spec Varget ? A number of Yankie websites rave about the performance of Varget in some rifles. I know John Robbo has done some experimenting with it in the past and maybe in his 6.5x55.

Pro i found the varget to fast in burn rate for the swede.
it runs best with a full case and varget uses less powder so doesn't fill the case up.
Never got good results with it.
Same in my 7mm rem mag.
The swede and mag are quite big cases.
I know the medium cases like the 308 and offspring thrive with this powder.

Totally agree with you John about using varget in the swede i tried various loads without much success.
Same to be said with vit n160 in my rifle which is supposed to be THE powder for 6.5 all i got was very high pressure signs

AH this old boot.
Well I've had a little change or two as I'm sure some of you have.
I have a sensitive and well paid cull job to conduct so I've had to moderate 1 of my deer calibres again.
I chose my 7mm for the task though I've had the finnlight threaded now so the mod will go on there if I choose.
It now wears the brake.
The moderators are custom and are alloy and very quiet and lightweight they only move the point of balance about an inch towards the muzzle. They are of the reflex variety.
I bought 1 for the 22250 also and sold the north star.
Other changes are I bought a new zeiss varipoint 3-12x56 IR with ballistic turret that's on the 22250, my older v series zeiss now sits on the 7mm and I bought a s/h schmidt and bender 3-12x56 classic which sits on the finnlight.
My Kales is going on the HMR.
Ordered a zeiss rangefinder so the ranging scopes are no longer needed now.
