Golf & shooting range finders, what's the difference, Golf ones seem better value for money regardless of make, any reason? What's the main difference if any? *dunce*

Maybe one for either Pro or Hawkeye?

I have a Leica rangefinder, some old bu99er left it in his unlocked car so i nabbed it - not really - mine is a Leica 900 which I got of Fleabay. Leica updated their rangefinder a coupe of years ago so the old style whci are a little more box shaped started selling at a much lower rate but still excellent bits of kit. The number refers to the distance they can range to i.e 900 or 1200 yards / metres (switchable) and they work in the dark.

Andy it was about 3 weeks ago on my drive. Only me to blame, some lads were washing it and asked if i wanted the windows inside doing i was busy reloading at the time so never thought just said yes and unlocked it..
Noticed it had gone a couple of hours later when i went to the motor to get some thing out.i used to carry it in the pocket behind the drivers seat.......Just waiting till i see the bas***ds again.. -HB- -HB- -HB-

Pro, that wasn't the question, the question was what's the difference between golfing ones and shooting ones?

I don't see that there should be any difference, you pick a point of reference, tree, wall, flag stick or ball, and the rangefinder gives you the distance, what else do you need ?
