Has anyone any ideas why this site has gone to the dogs?I have over the years really enjoyed been on this site but it is now very poorly supported with just the same few people posting all the time Is it time to have a revamp or to call it a draw? There was a lot of hard work in getting this site up and running and it was one of the best sites that i went on for ages but i as many others do not find it interesting anymore,i am not trying to cause any trouble and do appreciate the efforts put in by the Mods to keep the site running, but whats the point when there is just a very small core of people posting all the time. There must be reasons why this has happened as most of the other sites seem to be fine.It would be great to see it back to its Glory days with many people posting in a broad spectrum of topics. ***hmmm**

Maybe the time of year mm with crops to high to shoot rabbits and pigeons. And the game season finished. Unless anyone is deer stalking or clay shooting there is very little to post about until the start of the new season. Even fishing is restricted until the 16 due to the closed season on rivers. It does seem to be a handfull of members posting alot but if they didn,t there would be no forum at all at the moment at least. Heres looking forward to some interesting new threads

Got to admit it is a bit odd that few folk post, it is a great little forum but appears to have gone a bit stagnant recently with only the deer stalking section seeing much action.

Have not got any real answers on how to liven things up though.....

Thats bull.
I have never derailed a thread on airguns, dogs, hawks, sea fishing, ferrets ect ect. I dont even post on them so why has that stopped others?
Just because i'm active in some threads thats stupid to say i wont post in the airgun section because robbo posted again today in the deer fox section?
The forum is for adults not kids in the playground.
Members have gained training from me, done their qualifications with me and generally picked my brains over all sorts.
I have today while travelling back from denmark arranged a level 1 course at a big saving, for anyone + an extra discount for H.W. members in august, it will be by far the cheapest dsc1 in the country.
If that as well as x2 meet ups I arranged for members is not helping the forum then I will stick it!
I have never gone to meet ups other then ones i have orgaised so cannot be accused of taking over them?
Deer stalking is the quickest growing arm of the sport, so it will be a very active forum. Why should it interfere with other forums which some of you are interested in.
Gratitude indeed! -angry2-

Can we try and keep it civil please guys?

There's no need to pick an argument, just to try and disprove MM's question!
Thank you.

No, I haven't posted much lately either - I generally work 12 - 15 hours a day, and I'm too knackered after that - especially if I've been shooting too; plus one day of rabbit/pigeon shooting is much like any other.
If I did something different, I would post about it, I was supposex to go on a paid stalk last year, which I would have posted about, if a serious family problem hadn't prevented it at short notice.
I enjoy reading/learning about some of the more technical aspects of shooting and hunting, things that don''t seem to get posted on British forums very often, for various reasons (sometimes even for legal reasons!)
I am more than happy to post technical questions here, for people to answer or discuss, or give their opinions, with the proviso that posters think about what they post, and do their best to refrain from picking on other members.

If people want to contribute to HW they are very welcome if they decide they don't that's equally OK, why should a popular section be looked on as surpressing the other sections ? If members interested in airguns don't post very often how can it be the fault of members who post about ferrets or some other subject ?
We have a good number of members with specialist knowledge on a wide range of interests all it takes a two minute to start a thread if that is too much trouble there are plenty of other forums - nobody is forcing anyone to stay a member of Hunter World.
If you aren't into deer stalking there are 25+ other sections, the clue is don't click the section titled "Deer Stalking". As for John Robson I wish we had more members who posted as prolifically and with the same quality and that's speaking from an Administrator's view point, from a personal view point there are a number of members I'd happily lose if it meant retaining JR.

This banter is not solving any problems with trying to getting interest back on the site and probably leading to more problems, there is nothing more that i would like to see than this site to get back to how it used to be,but if people won't post something needs to be done to try and get them to,I always post in the sections that interest me,it is not the fault of people who regularly post as anybody who is a member can post where ever they want too but something needs to be done or less and less people will bother with the site and it will just fizzle out.It cannot be argued that the site has gone down massively in members that actually come on anymore as can be seen when you look at the info at the bottom of the page whilst you are on the site.As i said in my original post i am not looking to cause any problems and just want the site to get back to how it used to be.We all know a few years ago how a small minority of members caused a lot of problems on this site but they are long gone so there is no reason why things shouldn't get back to how it used to be.Pro if you feel that i have caused problems with this post and you want me to leave the site let me know and i will call it a draw and stop been a member

So, from what I can see we need a overhaul of the site, how we do this could be in a number of ways but first of all and most importantly we need to have an adult agreement that we don't spit our dummies out for trivial things and we get on with re generating this site into the site that it once was. As to you leaving Madmanx I wont hear of it. Many of us have made some good friends on here, I know that I have and I can honestly say that some of the friends that I have made will be friends for life, it's a great forum for that. Now rather than looking at the negatives lets for a moment look at the positives; We have a good site that is well established and has been going for several years now, we have a very strong membership (most of whom don't post now but know that we exist) How do we get them back? How do we attract new members? How do we keep those new members? Lets work together on this one because if we don't there won't be a Hunter World worth posting on anyway. So it's a call to arms people, lets work together and lets work clever, if you have any suggestions then post them here and lets discuss it like sensible adults and lets keep it positive. *Monkey Hanger*

Well a start would be if more onlookers posted instead of just reading and perhaps in topics which they have an interest.
Seems strange to be put off posting there because alot post somewhere else, then lay blame at the posters who do post for the death of the site?.
Harvest time soon so there should be more to write about and the darker nights will be in then also.
Come on put your money where your mouth is and get posting.
