well wen someone tells you theres 100s of crows on their permission you take it with a pinch of salt..but yesterday was different...met a lad off another forum and went to his land....as he said...there were absolutely 100s...I couldn't believe how many to be honest!! we quickly set up in the corner of a field...and were shooting within a matter of minutes...bird after bird came in...a mixture of crows and jackdaw that were just throwing themselves at our deecoy pattern!! I did my usual trick of missing plenty..but managed a few left n rights and joe put plenty on the deck... ole did plenty of retrieves but wasn't too keen on the live ones choosing to pick them by the tip of the wing...out of the range of their beaks... we set up at 3 and packed up at 7ish with birds still all over!! theres not 100 in the pic..but after finding over 20 others in the nxt field and countless others we didn't find the bag went well over the ton!! a cracking few hrs!!

Good shooting Dave, the Jackdaws come in like squadrons of Japanese Kamikazes don't they, it usually takes a few shots to get the lead right then after that they drop like flies - great fun.

what did you use for decoy pattern? station plastic crows, or previously shot ones? did you add anything with movement in? nice work. |

we put 6 plastic crows out then put the bouncer out once we had shot 1...tbh I think they would have come with no decoys out,,they just wanted to be in that field mate,,, |
