It can be held at any place, but nearly all court rules consider obligatory that the interrogation be held at a place much near to where the eyewitness lives. Therefore, when the witness is in Chicago, he or she typically cannot be pulled to move to New York for a pretrial interrogation, although there are exemptions to this rule. The interrogation typically held in the office of one of the lawyers following the claim legal proceedings, although it is not a particular requirement. A pretrial interrogation of a witness can be held more or less anywhere, such as court libraries, business discussion rooms etc.
