Hey, I have a life outside of NS you know.
If you with to discuss this further, we can take it to TG. This really isn't the place.
All I wanted to say is that your attitude can become annoying, and that it would be for the best if you would stop dismissing people's opinions when you have no right to do so.

The History of Thrace

  • Before around 800BC various Ancient Thracian citiy states and kingdoms.
  • 808 BC- formation of the Ancient Kingdom of Odrysia. The Kingdom expands, conquering other Thracian states, facing coalitions of other Thracian states. It slowly but surely becomes a regional power.
  • 359 BC- the region of today's Thrace is under Odrysian control. The King of Odrysia founds a city on today's place of Veranium, and crowns himself as Emperor of the Sun.
  • 200BC?-149 BC conflicts with the Elysian Empire. The Empire of the Sun is defeated, and conquered by the Elysians.
  • 149BC-285 Elysian rule
  • 285, The Division of the Elysian Empire. The Thracian-Elysian general Maximilian is promoted as Emperor of the new Eastern Elysian Empire, he is followed to the throne by his adopted son, Zeno, commonly known as the White Wolf.
  • 330? the Calamity of Elysia. Elysia is destroyed, the Empire collapses. In the East, Zeno marries the last daughter of the last Western Elysian Emperor, and defeats the other pretenders. He builds the city of Veranium, and converts to the new form of the Faith of the Sixteen, as promoted by a certain prophet before, a religion that had already spread through the Elysian Empire as wildfire, and adopts the sixteen pointed star as his emblem. The birth of the Veranian Empire.
  • 330-1453 The Veranian Empire. Largely modeled on the Byzantine Empire. Has its heights firstly in 555, when for a short while, it manages to restore most of the lands of the Elysian Empire, before it nearly collapses, and a second height around the year 1000. For most of the Middle Ages, it will be the main civilized and cultural nation in Europe, and will protect the rest of the European nations from many barbarians. It slowly forms the Thracians as a people, although the empire considered itself to be Elysian and called itself as such. In 1453 however, something similar to the Fourth Crusade happened, and Westerners attack the weakened Veranian Empire, and conquer and sack Veranium, putting a foreign usurper on the throne. Multiple Veranian successor states appear. The largest is the Empire of Odrysia. Led by the bastard of the last normal Veranian Emperor, it conquers the rest of the successor states, and quickly becomes a regional power, reconquering Veranium in 1463. This bastard crowns himself as Emperor of Thrace first, although still claiming the title of Elysian Emperor, birth of the Holy Thracian Empire/Monarchy.
  • 1463-1588. The Holy Thracian Monarchy. The first modern Thracian Empire. Fueled by religious extremism and imperialism, the Holy Thracian Monarchy expands, creating its first colonies, like Heveria, and it probably played a large part in the discoveries of the Age of Exploration. In 1550, Thrace starts the religious wars that will last for a century. Initially winning, Thrace however focuses on eliminating Reismov, leading to the Conquest of the East, which reaches Reismov's capitals, but winter weakens the Thracian forces led by Emperor Charles IV, and the Thracians are decisively defeated in 1588, in a battle that ends with catastrophic Thracian losses, the death of Charles IV and of most of the House of Verayne and its cadet branches.
  • 1588-1592. Interregnum. Civil war between the noble Prince Electors, and monarchists led by Duke Michael of Armfeld, who support the former wife of Charles V, Empress Sylvia of the KU, and her son, Charles Verayne. The war ends with the Compromise of Corona, and the claim of Charles Verayne is recognized. Sylvia becomes Empress Regent. The religious wars continue, with Duke Michael leading the Thracian troops.
  • 1600-1653, the Thracian Monarchy, the Golden Age. Under Charles V, the Thracian Empire reaches its height. Although KU loses Mapleston and Topsail, other colonies are gained. Thrace ends the religious wars on a good side, and forces a peace that confirms the return to the borders of the Holy Thracian Monarchy, and the creation of the cuius regio, eius religio principle. The PU with KU is cemented, and Charles V rules over Thrace, the KU, and possibly a third nation. Thrace is called the empire on which the sun never sets,
  • 1656-1680 Reign of Manuel I, decline, disaster of the Thracian Armada
  • 1680-1722, Michael II the Brave. Resurgence, and a new height.
  • 1722-1733, Aelius I. Economic disaster, decline.
  • 1733-1792. Decline of the Thracian Monarchy, possibly a Dual Monarchy.
  • 1792-1805. Thrace leads the war against Kathmandue and later its Napoleon, but is defeated. Veranium is sacked.
  • 1805-1815. Ruina Imperii, the Thracian Republic.
  • 1815-1822, Ruina Imperii, civil war, the Restoration and Renovatio Imperii.
  • 1822-1914. The Thracian Empire. Militaristic power, it expands and becomes more and more aggressive. It partially intervenes in the civil war of Reismov, where it annexes the Crimea. Mainly guilty for the start of WW1.
  • 1914-1918. WW1, victory of the Autocratic Imperial Alliance.
  • 1918-1938 Interwar Time. The Iron Guard takes power, creation of the Guardist dictatorship.
  • 1939-1945. WW2.So, the war would start in 1939. By end 1940 all opposition in the West would have have to be swept, Thrace would gain naval dominance in the western Mediterranean, and in the Atlantic, with the help of the KU Navy, the Imperial Navy would deal a huge defeat on Topsail's navy, combined with some stuff happening Haeveria. In 1941, Thrace would attack Ravenstsvo, pushing forward, at this point, Thrace would be at its height, unbeatable, unstoppable.

In 1942 things started to break, winter slowed down the Thracian advance, leaving Raven time to recover, in the most crucial and one of the largest naval battles in the war, in the Atlantic, the Imperial Fleet and the navy of the KU and possibly Mapleston suffer a great defeat against the Allied navies. End 1942 Raven wins his first big victories, stalling the Thracian advance. Nekehara is lost, first, mostly unsuccessful, Allied air raids against Thrace begin.

1943, Thrace mobilizes its forces on the Eastern front, and loses. Ravenstvo gains the initiative, some more big naval battles are lost, rebels start to stir up in the west. End 1943, the allies launch an amphibious naval operation in Kathmandue and one in Thrace, the one in Kath succeeded, but in Thrace, the allies are thrown back into the sea.

1944, mass air raids start into Thrace, the Imperial Air Force puts up quite a fight, enemies approach from all points. Summer 1944, a coup d'etat organized by Prince Michael brings down the main fascist government, the Thracian Transition Government is created. An unofficial armistice is signed with the West in fall, and Thrace focuses its forces on the Eastern front. December 1944, Operation Autumn Mist,Battle of the Bulge style, Ravenstvo's forces are defeated and thrown away from Thrace's modern borders, but Thrace simply doesn't have the resources to push forward anymore, so Raven remains with the future TDR. Early 1945, armistice is signed, the war in Europe ends.
  • 1945. The Transition Wars. The Thracian Transition Government keeps control over the borders of modern day Thrace, all colonies are lost. The Thracian Democratic Republic is formed in the north.
  • 1948-1989? Cold War something?
  • 1989-present the Empire of Thrace.

I'm not sure if my timeline is that important in European history, but I'll put it here anyway (I believe Tiandao has its share in discussing first Europe-East Asia contacts, a sort of Opium War that inspires the end of Emperors, and modern history afterwards). Since ancient history isn't that important (other than the Silk Road? Nothing that much important before the 17th century), I'll start with the 17th century:

1332 - 1774: The Empire of Greater Qin, with similarities to the real-life Ming Dynasty, rules over the northern half of Tiandao and other territories at its greatest extent. For much of its time, it would be the premier political and cultural center of East Asia, leading a regional 'Pax Qinica'. The Empire of Greater Qin focuses on not only war with the northern and western nomadic tribes but also expansion throughout the seas, resulting in a rivalry in naval power against the city-states in southern Tiandao and Penania.

1774-1866: City-states in southern Tiandao congregate in Nanhai City, creating the United Federation of Tiandao, forming the first-ever federal republic in East Asia. Although economically maintaining a trading relationship, the Empire of Greater Qin and the United Federation of Tiandao were political rivals, each attempting dominance upon all of Tiandao. Having its roots on the economically and financially advantaged city-states along southern Tiandao, the United Federation of Tiandao is quicker in accepting the products of western civilization, eventually gaining a technological edge over the Empire to the north.

1866-1867: European powers commence a war against the United Federation of Tiandao and the Empire of Greater Qin, at an attempt to take over the affluent city-states of the Federation and open up trade in the Empire. Although they are (barely) defeated by a collective effort between the Federation and the Empire, the war acts as a motivator in the Empire of Greater Qin abolishing its policy of seclusion and commence westernization.

1868-1877: Resulting in a state of 'Enlightenment' among the Tianese populace, such attempts of westernization resulted in the Tianese Revolution, resulting in the end of the Empire of Greater Qin in 1869. While the remnants of the Empire plunged into a civil war, the United Federation of Tiandao seized the opportunity and unified Tiandao through force during the Great Northern Expedition (1870-1876), eventually resulting in the Greater Eastern Union of Tiandao being declared in 1877.

1877 - 1914: Although a rather 'late' colonial power, the Greater Eastern Union successfully establishes a number of colonies throughout Asia, exerting considerable influence over the region and keeping European colonial powers at bay.

1914-1918: Tiandao does not see great activity in World War 1, resulting in the minimization of war in East Asia. Instead, Tiandao benefits greatly from trading with both sides of the war, while also becoming one of the places of negotiation (kinda like what America became for the Russo-Japanese War of 1905).

1918-1939: Inter-war period.

1939-1945: World War 2. Tiandao stays out of the war until August 1940, when Tiandao is attacked by either one of the sides (this is to be decided). Afterwards, a war similar to the Pacific War rages over the seas and islands, although it results in a general stalemate by 1945.

1945-1990: During the Cold War, Tiandao remains capitalist and anti-communist, making relations between the nation and communist states in the vicinity salty.

Possible. As I've said before, Thrace would probably act as the Byzantine Empire acted in real life and will be the final Western point of the Silk Road.

I see. Any other possible relations that will be formed between our two nations before the World Wars (namely WW2, since by then, I would either be your enemy or your ally, as soon as I find out the belligerents and what they fought for, basically)?

If you joined Thrace's and my "Autocratic Alliance", the strengthened relations could've had its origins from KU involvement in Enlightenment Wars (1868-1877), aiding the United Federation of Tiandao uniting the realm under its banner.

Thrace had a colonial empire, so contact could have been possible. The earliest contact could have been during the Veranian Empire, when two Veranian monks would visit you, and would steal some silkworm eggs and bring them back to Veranium. To mirror the Byzantine Empire a little.

As of the world wars, we have two alliances, and while I am naming my alliance the Autocratic Alliance, not all of its members are Autocratic, and we don't exactly mirror the Axis, just as the Allies don't exactly mirror the Allies.

Trading Companies, yes. But in general, Thrace's focus wasn't necessarily on trade, so the trading companies were subordinated to the Viceroyalties.

So, let's start from the beginning. Antiquity. How were your nations in that period?

And, because we need to start from somewhere, we need to discuss our Roman Empire. The Elysian Empire.

My proposal, is to have it begin, at least methodologically, similarly to Rome. Two possible founders, brothers, have a contest to create a new city. But instead of our Romulus killing our Remus, Remus runs away, and creates another city somewhere in the East.. So we have Elysia and another city, who are practically inhabited by related people, who grow in power and each form their own empires, until it comes to war, and Elysia wins. Elysia grows to rule over a large part of our Europe and Africa. We have some nice civil wars, and four Hegemons are put into place, to rule in the name of the Emperor. One in the north, one in the south, one in the West, and one in the East. Then, in the Calamity of Elysia, the city is destroyed by volcanic eruptions and a tsunami, killing everyone inside it. The peninsula on which Elysia was partially sinks into the sea, and Elysia is lost.

With the sudden and violent collapse of Elysia, its empire is thrown into chaos. In the East, Hegemon Zeno, who rules from the city of Veranium, marries the daughter of the last Elysian Emperor, moves the capital to Veranium, and proclaims to be the direct successor of Elysia, hereby creating the Veranian Empire. Europe soon collapses into chaos, as barbarians invade from everywhere. The end of Antiquity, and the beginning of the Middle Ages.

43 AD - 330 AD: part of the Elysian Empire
330 AD - 597 AD: Marovaeran Empire (Independent Elysian-Celtic hegemony)
597 AD - 1060: Various Saxon (and later on Norse) independent states

From there the Apostolic Empire of the Kalmar Union...

Well yes; the Saxons never managed to conquer Ireland, Scotland and Wales though, which is why the Latinized languages there survived.
