Policies of the Jedi Academy

The policies of the Jedi Academy comprise the rules and guidelines of conduct for all Jedi training or residing within the Jedi Order. Jedi who fail to adhere to these policies at all times may be subject to demerits or even exile.
Policies are subject to change according to the will of the Jedi Council. This thread may be updated or changed regularly.

Jedi Council
- Quote:
-
- The Jedi Council may comprise of up to twelve Jedi Masters and Jedi Knights.
- All Jedi Councillors act as representatives of the Jedi Council. Therefore, all Jedi Councillors do not have to be present for a Council audit to be completed.

Masters and Padawans
- Quote:
-
- Jedi Masters may train up to two Padawans simultaneously.
- Jedi Knights may train up to two Padawans simultaneously.
- Padawans must be actively trained as Padawans for a minimum of one month before they are eligible for the Jedi Trials.
- Every month, the Jedi Council will hold a Knighthood ceremony by which eligible Jedi Padawans may become Jedi Knights and Jedi Knights may become Jedi Masters.
- Jedi Masters and Jedi Knights who train Padawans must inform the Jedi Council that they wish to undertake the Jedi Trials.
- It is ultimately the decision of the Council on whether or not a Padawan is ready to undergo the Jedi Trials.
- On the completion of the Jedi Trials, the Padawan must be evaluated by the Jedi Council again and discuss the Trials they went through. It is ultimately the decision of the Jedi Council on whether the Padawan in question is ready to become a Jedi Knight.

Relationships
- Quote:
-
- Bonds between master and Padawan are encouraged. Romantic relationships between master and Padawan are frowned upon, but permitted depending on the circumstances.
- Romantic relationships between Jedi Initiates are forbidden.
- Romantic relationships between Jedi Padawans are permitted.
- Romantic relationships between Jedi Knights and/or Jedi Masters are permitted.
- Jedi Council members have the authority to end romantic relationships between Jedi. Jedi who do not comply with the Council may be exiled.

Merits and Demerits
- Quote:
-
- The completion of missions, class attendance, datapad reports, successful Jedi trials, requests by Jedi Knights or Masters, the winning of sparring tournaments etc. will earn Jedi Initiates and Padawans a certain number of merits.
- Jedi Padawans with six or more merits will be considered "senior." Senior Padawans have more responsibilities including, but not limited to, holding classes, taking part in high threat missions etc.
- Jedi Padawans with high merits will be considered "first priority" for the Jedi Trials and the Knighthood ceremony.
- The unsuccessful completion of missions, datapad reports, failed Jedi trials, disrespect or backtalk to their teachers and refusal to complete requests etc. will result in Jedi Initiates and Padawans receiving demerits.
- Padawans with three or more demerits are not eligible to take the Jedi trials or participate the Knighthood ceremony.
- Padawans with high demerits may be returned to Jedi Initiate status or face expulsion from the Jedi Academy.
- Demerits are overwritten by merits. Initiates and Padawans with demerits can redeem themselves and whitewash past mistakes by gaining merits.
