Despite being the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere, all was not gloom in Demoness. The season was called Second Summer and was indeed more like its counterpart than an opposite. The weather was warmer and slightly humid, though the latter was due to the shower was predicted to visit Sacred Rock later that evening. For the time being, the weather was overcast as Ned Davion descended into the airport. He would soon be followed by Gavrila de Sud, but he was not quite aware of that fact yet.

Visits between Fenwick and Demoness had become more than routine, with the prince representing his country more often than his father, and they had lost all their formality; a simple phone call announced his arrival and a car would meet him at the airport with little fanfare. He was admitted to the Plateau and after a little witty banter with the Guardian of the Gateway, an ex-girlfriend, he was led into Jia Li's private solar.

Though technically a solar, it was more specifically a library and Jia Li lounged with her legs across her husband's lap; a chitael, either Nemesis or Aphrodite, lay in hers. She propped up a book on her chitael's head, reading happily while her husband reviewed something on a tablet. She looked up as Ned entered and smiled. "Hey, Ned-mitsu," she greeted. "I'd stand but..." She indicated the hundred pound animal purring on her lap. "When did you get in?"

Ned smirked. "We're a bunch of prudes, I suppose. Though we do have public showers in places like gyms, though they aren't unisex. Steam rooms, saunas, and the like can be unisex though."

Jia Li shook her head. "You'd have thought we'd have been a better influence on you; baths are so much more relaxing than showers. More social too."

Gavrila smirked, "I would have to agree wiz Gavrila on zis one. Bazs are so much better in every way; zough even you here in Demoness are prudes compared to us Cetatsens when it comes to public bazing."

Jia Li shrugged. "It's just normal for us to have segregated baths. I suppose they must have been unisex at some point, but they aren't now."

"I suppose the closest thing we might have to your baths are hot springs, though usually swimwear is encouraged... and soaps are discouraged."

"Oh, zere are natural hotsprings in Cetatsenia too," Gavrila said, "And zey are fucking awesome, much better zan artificially-heated bazs. We do not wear clozes in zem zough, because zat would be weird. And zey are like bazs; zey are for socializing, not cleaning."

"I'm curious how it would be weird to wear swimwear? Do you all wear swimsuits in the pool?"

"Well of course we wear swimsuits in ze pool. Well, most do at least. But swimming pools are for swimming; as evidenced by zeir name," Gavrila said, "Hot springs are just like bazs, and zey are for socializing. And you do not baze wiz a swimsuit on, do you?"

"Bathe, no." Ned shook his head. "But we treat hot springs more like a hot tub or a very warm pool and they're usually in the same area as an added pool, so it just makes sense for us to wear the suits in both."

Gavrila shrugged. "Well zere are not any hot tubs in Cetatsenia, you just got ze public bazs. It is pretty much ze same damn zing except it is larger and you are naked," she said, then shook her head, "I do not understand why exactly so many ozer countries seem to sexualize nudity. It is stupid."
