Despite being the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere, all was not gloom in Demoness. The season was called Second Summer and was indeed more like its counterpart than an opposite. The weather was warmer and slightly humid, though the latter was due to the shower was predicted to visit Sacred Rock later that evening. For the time being, the weather was overcast as Ned Davion descended into the airport. He would soon be followed by Gavrila de Sud, but he was not quite aware of that fact yet.

Visits between Fenwick and Demoness had become more than routine, with the prince representing his country more often than his father, and they had lost all their formality; a simple phone call announced his arrival and a car would meet him at the airport with little fanfare. He was admitted to the Plateau and after a little witty banter with the Guardian of the Gateway, an ex-girlfriend, he was led into Jia Li's private solar.

Though technically a solar, it was more specifically a library and Jia Li lounged with her legs across her husband's lap; a chitael, either Nemesis or Aphrodite, lay in hers. She propped up a book on her chitael's head, reading happily while her husband reviewed something on a tablet. She looked up as Ned entered and smiled. "Hey, Ned-mitsu," she greeted. "I'd stand but..." She indicated the hundred pound animal purring on her lap. "When did you get in?"

Gavrila stared for a bit at Ned, blinking almost in incomprehension. She knew that he wasn't aware that Jia Li had brought them here to try and get them together but certainly he could at least tell she was interested, right? He wasn't that dense, was he?

Either way, just looking at the man didn't get her anywhere, so she figured it best to continue the conversation. "Yeah, it is always fun seeing new places," she said, "I had seen pictures of Demoness before, but I have to admit zat seeing it in person is damn cool."

Jia Li covered her smile with her hand and tactically decided that it was best for her to look at something besides the two of them right then. Xel just shook his head; sometimes he wondered why he had ever considered Ned a threat to his non-existent romantic relationship with Jia Li when the teenage Ned had arrived in Demoness.

"Well, I'll have to let you know if I'm planning to visit. I'm sure that you could make a visit interesting. Sadly, Fenwick is fairly dull, depending on where you go. Vast desert and all that." He took a small bite of his food. "Though the coastal cities and some of the islands are very nice."

Ned nodded. "Well, you could certainly visit as a typical VIP tourist or if you wanted to give me a bit of warning, I could take some time and show you a city like Deseret."

At that Gavrila grinned. "I guess if I ever visit, I should definitely give you a warning first," she said, "And what is Deseret like?"

Ned shrugged. "It's nice. Palm trees, beaches, a boardwalk, the like. Just depends on what you'd like to do there. Personally, I like the beaches there the most as far as the Fenwicki coast is concerned."

"Ha, sounds just like ze coastal cities and towns in Cetatsenia. Minus ze palm trees, of course. Zey do not really grow up zere," Gavrila said, "You should visit some of ze beaches in Cetatsenia sometimes. Of course, if you do not mind ze fact zat nudity is allowed on all ze beaches."

Ned shrugged. "We have a few nude beaches, just not all of them are. It wouldn't be exceptionally odd." He thought a moment before continuing. "Though the night life in Deseret is also pretty nice. It is the largest city in the nation... something like eight million people live there."

"Well in Cetatsenia all beaches are nude beaches," Gavrila said with a grin, "And maybe I should visit Deseret, might be nice to see ze night life in a foreign country. Albraustana-zid is much smaller zan zat, I zink it is like 4 million or somezing."
