Despite being the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere, all was not gloom in Demoness. The season was called Second Summer and was indeed more like its counterpart than an opposite. The weather was warmer and slightly humid, though the latter was due to the shower was predicted to visit Sacred Rock later that evening. For the time being, the weather was overcast as Ned Davion descended into the airport. He would soon be followed by Gavrila de Sud, but he was not quite aware of that fact yet. Visits between Fenwick and Demoness had become more than routine, with the prince representing his country more often than his father, and they had lost all their formality; a simple phone call announced his arrival and a car would meet him at the airport with little fanfare. He was admitted to the Plateau and after a little witty banter with the Guardian of the Gateway, an ex-girlfriend, he was led into Jia Li's private solar. Though technically a solar, it was more specifically a library and Jia Li lounged with her legs across her husband's lap; a chitael, either Nemesis or Aphrodite, lay in hers. She propped up a book on her chitael's head, reading happily while her husband reviewed something on a tablet. She looked up as Ned entered and smiled. "Hey, Ned-mitsu," she greeted. "I'd stand but..." She indicated the hundred pound animal purring on her lap. "When did you get in?" |

"Yeah, ze castle is my cousin's palace. Ze Voivode has lived in it ever since zere was a Voivode," Gavrila said, "Ze castle zat used to be ze palace for Sudest's Knez was abandoned when ze current palace was built. I believe zat was sometime in ze 17-1800s." Then Gavrila smiled as she thought about the ruined castle overlooking the valley containing Dreaptoras. "But even zough it is abandoned, ze view from it is beautiful," she said, "It sits above ze valley, and when you are up zere you can see ze entirety of Dreaptoras spread out below you." |

Ned tilted his head. "I'm somewhat surprised it's not maintained for historical values. Too expensive to upkeep or just not enough interest? I would imagine it could be quite the tourist attraction with the view you describe." |

"Actually it used to be a pretty popular tourist attraction until a decade or so ago," Gavrila said, "You see, ze zing is, it was built right on ze edge, and one day a section of ze mountain or hill or whatever you want to call it collapsed. Zankfully nobody was hurt, but I do not zink I have to mention zat it is no longer open to ze public." |

"I could see a landslide and part of the structure collapsing being a slight detriment to the tourist capabilities of the building," Ned said, nodding. "How risky is it to enter the ruins?" |

"To be honest? It is actually not zat dangerous unless you have a lot of people walking around all ze time. You know, like wiz tours," Gavrila said, "I have gone up zere on occasion because I like ze view. And zough it is technically illegal zere are teens zat go up zere to peek around." |

Ned smirked. "I'm sure that's not all that they go up there to do." |

"I do not zink a hard stone castle would be a very comfortable place to fuck," Gavrila said with a shrug, smirking as she did so, "It would probably be cold too, what wiz all ze wind you get blowing zrough zat high up." Aurel closed his eyes and shook his head almost imperceptibly. Sex was generally not something that was talked about so casually in Cetatsenia, though small innuendos such as what Ned had done were fine in situations like this. But Gavrila was not typical in some ways, and this was one of them; she had no qualms about talking about sex. |

"That's what air mattresses and blankets are for," Ned said, struggling to keep a straight face. "But yes, I'm fond of castles, so that's definitely something that I'd like to see." |

At that Gavrila just shrugged. "I suppose blankets could make it comfortable enough. I do not know for sure zough, I never went up zere for zat reason," Gavrila said, smirking, "And if you really want see ze castle, zen just come down to Dreaptoras sometime and let me show you around." |

Ned nodded. "Alright then. Sounds like a plan. I'll make sure to get with you later and we can coordinate that." |
