Despite being the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere, all was not gloom in Demoness. The season was called Second Summer and was indeed more like its counterpart than an opposite. The weather was warmer and slightly humid, though the latter was due to the shower was predicted to visit Sacred Rock later that evening. For the time being, the weather was overcast as Ned Davion descended into the airport. He would soon be followed by Gavrila de Sud, but he was not quite aware of that fact yet.

Visits between Fenwick and Demoness had become more than routine, with the prince representing his country more often than his father, and they had lost all their formality; a simple phone call announced his arrival and a car would meet him at the airport with little fanfare. He was admitted to the Plateau and after a little witty banter with the Guardian of the Gateway, an ex-girlfriend, he was led into Jia Li's private solar.

Though technically a solar, it was more specifically a library and Jia Li lounged with her legs across her husband's lap; a chitael, either Nemesis or Aphrodite, lay in hers. She propped up a book on her chitael's head, reading happily while her husband reviewed something on a tablet. She looked up as Ned entered and smiled. "Hey, Ned-mitsu," she greeted. "I'd stand but..." She indicated the hundred pound animal purring on her lap. "When did you get in?"

Jia Li smirked, waiting for Ned's response. She wondered if he finally got the hint.

Ned looked at Jia Li and Xel with a raised eyebrow, surprised that neither of them had shot down the suggestion.

"I will only agree to these shenanigans if I am not the only one."

Jia Li laughed. "And just who do you think is going to join you?" She pointed to herself, Xel, and Gavrila in turn. "Head of State, Head of Religion, Visiting Dignitary." She pointed to him. "Some military guy." She grinned.

Ned snorted a stifled laugh. "Oh, so I'm not a visiting dignitary anymore? Why do I have a feeling that Makoto or Alexis would be the one that would 'catch' me in this mischief?"

Gavrila raised her hand, grinning. "I was just joking, but I would be willing to join in. After all, you know how Cetatsens feel about nudity," she said, laughing, "And I could have Aurel leave if you are uncomfortable wiz him being here."

Aurel just shook his head slightly at his Kneznja's antics. He was used to the way she acted, and he cared about her, but that didn't change the fact that sometimes she just went a bit overboard.

Jia Li laughed, purposely ignoring the mention of his ex-girlfriend in favor of their mutual friend. "I also have a feeling that Makoto would also have a recording device." She grinned and then shook her head as she looked at Gavrila.

Ned nodded with a smirk. "Knowing Makoto, he'd rather use that than actually stop me. With that in mind, I think I'll reserve my mostly-nude self for swimming pools at the moment." He cleared his throat. "Last thing I need is that showing up on YouStream or something."

He looked to Gavrila with a wry grin. "Another time, perhaps."

Ned just smiled and shrugged noncommittally in response. "Time will tell, I suppose."

At Ned's response Gavrila's smirk turned into a grin. It seemed like he may have finally gotten that she was flirting with him, thought to be honest he'd have to be extremely dense not to after what she'd just suggested. "Oh, come on," she said, still grinning, "It is not nice to leave a girl is suspense like zat."
